Okay, we arrived at the Abby House in the evening. Coming from Dublin and it is on the right side of the Abby itself, practically across the street. Keep your eyes peeled. We drove through the gates, the lights came on and we were met by the lovely Helen, the owner. We couldn't take it all in fast enough! We... More

Don't quite know how to go about explaining Abbey house. It's out in the country, but easy to get to all kinds of things. Hostess was so easygoing. We came late, and she was just lovely and gracious. I spilt tea on her lovely table cloth and was mortified, but she just laughed and told me not to be silly.... More

Excellent country location yet close to Kilkenny and other destinations but will require a car. Fantastic breakfast w/ smoked salmon, fresh trout and farm raised eggs from on site chickens. Blazing Fire in sitting room was perfect after a day of touring. Proprietor Helen was exceptional with good knowledge of the area. Highly recommend the Smithwicks Beer tour in Kilkenny.... More

This was certainly the nicest property we stayed at in Ireland. Our hostess, Helen, was an absolute gem. The rooms were immaculate and spacious and the breakfasts were first class. The house itself was a real charmer too with all the period furnishing and delightful sitting room. Cannot recommend highly enough!

Just across the country road from historic Jerpoint Abbey nestles charming Abbey House B&B. We were so pleased that we booked it for two nights, as the hostess who had run it for 26 years treated us like we were family. We got to order our breakfast and like others, enjoyed the fresh trout caught just up the stream from... More

Booked for one night, liked it so stayed for two. Comfortable room, sitting room and breakfast room. Excellent breakfast (including trout). Friendly owner and staff. Would stay again if needing accommodation in the area. All the other guest apart from one disgruntled american appeared to agree.

Very charming B&B out in the countryside-site of an old mill connected with an ancient abbey, the ruins of which can be visited across the road. Idyllic landscaping with river running in the back. Definitely recommend!

This B&B is exactly what I had hoped it would be. Extremely comfortable beds, delicious Irish breakfast prepared to order, and a fantastic historical exhibit right across the road. It's about 15min to Kilkenny and all it has to offer, by car. Highly recommended!
