This hotel has everything going for it. Situated in a beautiful part of Ireland, and in a pleasant town, it has a fourth generation proprietor looking after it. The proprietor is omnipresent and this reflects in his superb attention to detail and the care and comfort of his guests. Our room was very clean and contained an eclectic mix of...

Comfy, friendly, with a cracking little bar, where the barman's as sound as a pound, helpful and knows the area well. Breakfast in bed is well worth the €3 since the rooms are so comfy and roomy. And it's bang in the centre of town. The smoker's but outside the bar has been put together with love and attention, a...

I love my husband, and we decided to spend his 50th birthday weekend in Foyles hotel. A homely place, with a warm atmosphere perhaps because it's family run, I don't know. We bought a weekend deal which included a two night stay and a gourmet meal. Well when they say Gourmet, they mean Gourmet. From the selection of fresh homemade...

Great hotel. Rooms bright, airy and clean. Staff very friendly and accomodating, Food excellent. Only down side is that the hotel doesn't have a car park, however there is pay and display on street parking outside the hotel We arrived on a Friday eve and were informed that the parking warden doesn't work on a Saturday, so we didn't pay for...

I found myself this evening on return from Foyle's totally rejuvenated. The opposite to how i was feeling on my arrival. Being honest about it, usually breaks are to hotels with much more facilities but after staying in Foyle's this weekend i now know i need to reassess my choices. This was one of the friendliest, most unpertentious and comfortable...

I researched this hotel on the Internet and it seemed as though it was just what I was looking for. From the minute we walked through the door we were not disappointed. A beautiful lounge and tucked away behind that a beautiful eating area. There is a small reception area and a ping of the bell brought someone yo reception....

We last stayed overnight in Foyles in 2007 but have been in for tea, lunch and dinner annually on our flying visits home to family living in Connemara. As I pointed out in my last review Foyle's is not a shiny box type hotel but old with character( think Connemara Shabby Chic) but I was really disappointed to read the...

I can't believe this hotel gets good reviews! Maybe I'm being unfair because I haven't stayed here, but I couldn't actually go further than the lobby! We had coffee there whilst reading the Sunday papers, and it was really unpleasant. The foyer is dark, with ancient mustard coloured, dirty, worn furniture, and the smell of old, greasy carpet and upholstery...

we had booked the restaurant in Foyles Hotel because we had a good experience before. Saturday night was booked up but they were offering the Valentine's Menu on Friday night also and so we took that. The restaurant has a very pleasant ambience - kind of traditional and comfortably old-world. It is situated in the middle of the town and...
