Just back home after travelling about Ireland including 2 nights in Buttermilk Lodge. Only booked it late on and was really looking for somewhere cheap, a single room, but as I was having a bit of difficulty, I decided to pay a bit more than planned and booked a double room in Buttermilk Lodge, no singles available. It was well...

We stayed for three nights at Buttermilk Lodge and what a great introduction to Irish B&B's it turned out to be. Nice quite location just a few minutes walk from Clifden town centre. Our room was was very clean with a great ensuite and the biggest bed we've ever slept in.The breakfasts were excellent with lots of variety and really...

The room was ok but the shower didnt work properly. The owner was not friendly but happy to take our money. The Irish breakfast was dripping with oil. There is much better value elsewhere in Clifden for half the price!

I welcome the opportunity to reply to this “review”. On Sat July 6, 2 men arrived to check in to 2 rooms for single occupancy. We had a reservation for one man but none for the second, he had paperwork for a reservation with him but this was for a room for single occupancy on Saturday June 29 and Sunday...

Nice guesthouse. Clean, quiet. Beds are a bit hard for my taste but warm and with nice bedding. Breakfast had several choices to choose from and the dinner recommendations were excellent. Excellent area and lots to do.

We arrived at Buttermilk Lodge guest house following suggestion of a B&B owner in Killarney. What a charming guest house with very nicely decorated rooms impeccable cleanliness and a warm welcoming atmosphere. Cathriona and Patrick were most gracious as owners. Cathriona was most helpful in directing us to the area which is just breathtaking. The guest house was within walking...

The breakfasts were very nice. The rooms were a nice size and we had everything we needed. We had afternoon tea at Walshes Bakery,...

Clifden and its surrounds are so delightful and this B&B is one of the best we have experienced over many years. We were greeted with afternoon tea in a cosy sitting room and there was lots of information available for walks and dining. Our room was spacious with superb views and had everything we needed. Breakfast was sensational and the...

A great place to stay, delicious breakfast and comfortable rooms. When we arrived we were offered tea and cake and a folder with all the menus for the local restaurants and pubs, their location on a map and when they had live music. In the room there was a folder of local walks and a booklet on walks in Connemara....

Great stay at the guesthouse. Very comfortable and spacious. Owners friendly and very helpful, gave great suggestions on both dinner and next days activities, one of our favorite stays in Ireland thanks to these suggestions. Couldn't have been more helpful and breakfast deliciouse. It was my friends first time staying in a B&B/Guesthouse, and now they're sold on them.

My nephew and I stayed in Clifden. The Buttermilk Lodge is a great location. It is an easy walk to town (downhill). Coming back is a bit harder but if you have spent enough time in the pubs, you won't notice! The room had two beds and a bathroom. Breakfast was good. They packed a lunch for us which was...
