when we arrived at 4:10pm during the advertised check in time, there was a note on the door stating they would be back at 5pm, we waited in front of the house until 5:25, no one showed up. so we walked downtown, shopped and ended up having dinner. when we got back the owner was there so we could check... It is a decent B&B. Very nice owner and good breakfast. The location is uphill of the town, not a steep hill but a walk to the town of about 5mins. Small beds, but that is typical of Europe in general. Shower lacked pressure which was trouble some, but not horrible. All in all, a good place for the night... More

The good: comfy bed; LOTS of power outlets (for those of us who travel with electronics, B&Bs usually challenge recharging them all - not here!); PRIME location for walking to historic area without sleeping amongst the shops; GREAT breakfast - yum. The not so good... notes from arrival day: Dropped by earlier (~12:30)... back at 16:30. No answer when we... More

Nice B&B. Showers could be much better as the water pressure was way too slow. Nice host. Margaret let us come and go as we please and offered us one of her rooms for our young girl without an extra charge. Very reasonable walking distance to town center. Beautiful breakfast area. Thank you Margaret. Mary & Grant Smith California USA

Nice B&B. Good location. Easy walk to the city center. The room was nice sized and clean. Breakfast was tasty. Ms Kelly gave us some good recommendations on where to eat and enjoy the nightlife in Kinsale.

We stayed two nights at Ashgrove and it was very nice. We parked our car and didn't move it until we left for the next town. It is perfectly located to walk to all the shops, the bay and pubs at night. The room was small but clean and well tended. Breakfast was delicious and our hostess was efficient and... More

Met by young local girl when we checked in who was very helpful. Advised dinner at the Steakhouse restaurant which was an excellent recommendation. Room we were in had a small bathroom but it worked out fine. Wifi didn't work in the bedroom bit did in the living room. Went to the Tap Tavern after dinner and would recommend it... More

The Ashgrove is in an excellent location-close to town (3-5 minute walk), but not on the main drag. The hostess was helpful when we asked questions, but not as forthcoming as we liked. Very good breakfast and very clean.

We laughed about finding the entrance, we just weren't looking in the right place for it. We were delighted to find this cozy home, within walking distance of town center, which was just what we needed. The common room and dining room are charming. While Margaret is a bit reserved, she is very gracious, and very helpful in giving us... More
