Had an enjoyable stay at Hawthorn House. Mary and her family were very welcoming. The room was comfortable and quiet, considering that the B&B is almost in the very centre of Kenmare. Substantial, relaxed, traditional breakfast. Wi-fi apparently soon to be fixed. Kenmare is a good base to explore both the Ring of Kerry and the Ring of Beara by...

Good: convenient, but quiet location, large room, strong enough shower, adequate drawer storage in the room Not good: no hot water the first evening and morning, a lounge that was unusable because it smelled so musty/moldy, abysmal wifi service (a deal breaker for us)--the only way I could occasionally get connected was to sit at the bottom of the stairs,...

The Hawthorn House is conveniently located in Kenmare, right in town but on a fairly quiet street. Our room was very large and quite comfortable and clean. The decor was a little old, and could have used some updating. Breakfast was good. Mary was charming and very helpful with suggestions of where to eat and what to see in the...

the host was a nice person. the room was clean and in good shape (exept for the waterkettle). the wifi didn't work most of the time (which wasn't her fault). the breakfast was OK, ordinary "full irish breakfast". i was invites to sit in the living room, waiting for my bus (nice).

Hawthorn House is a B&B situated at the end of a street in Kenmare. We were given a very large and very clean room with a spotless bathroom. Mary was a delightful hostess and was so concerned about us being late, that it felt as if we were with family. She really made us feel welcome into her home. She...

We stayed here 2 nights last fall when my husband and I took my father on his dream trip to Ireland. Kenmare is a grea t launching point to see many great sites. The B&B sits at the end of 2 main streets through town and has off street parking. The rooms are clean and generously sized with comfortable furnishings,...

Kenmare is small, and although there is a fair selection of possible accommodations, arriving later in the afternoon/evening may put you in a pinch. When we arrived my daughter and I set out running around looking for triple rooms while my wife car-sat (the town is small enough to hunt on foot). Upon checking back in at the car on...

This beautiful and well kept bed & breakfast was accented by the most courteous and helpful owners/managers. She easily accommodated our late arrival, and gave our three person family from New Orleans, Louisiana, USA, all the time and advice we needed. The family room we stayed in was very large and very clean with a spacious bathroom, and the off...

Our original Kenmare B&B double booked us and contacted Hawthorn House to see if they could accommodate us at the last minute. (My impression is that the local B&Bs work together and help each other out when necessary.) Hawthorn House accommodated us and honored our original rate, which I believe was cheaper than their normal rate. We stayed in one...
