I have had the pleasure of staying at the Sallyport House 3 times including April of 2105 where we booked 4 rooms for a family trip. Each room is very well appointed and each is special in it's own way. Our daughter had a room with a beautiful room of the grounds out back with a separate sitting area which...

Room was large and well kept. Janie was very pleasant and accommodating. Ideally located within walking distance of shops and restaurants. Many attractions close by, too many to see in one day. The country setting, the quietness and the feeling of being in a home not a B&B were very satisfying to these travellers.

The somewhat plain exterior of the house belies a gorgeous interior. The room and bath were large and very well maintained with a nice view to the water. There was ample parking and the breakfast was good. The owner was reserved and be aware this is cash only establishment, including the need to send a check as an advance deposit....

What a magnificent place! Surrounded by nature able to see out onto kenmare bay and watch a magnificent sunset. There is fabulous flowers in the garden and it is simply relaxing having freshly made breakfast looking into the garden with so much wildlife - we saw birds feeding every morning and butterflies and a little rabbit hopping about in the...

We stayed at Sallyport for three nights and really enjoyed our time at the house. Sallyport is on the edge of the Ring of Kerry but also well positioned to travel south & explore other areas such as the stunning Breara peninsula. John one of the hosts, is just great at providing tips and information on travel routes whilst his...

Stayed here for one night at the end of September and wish we could have stayed longer! We booked a couple months in advance and there was only one date available that worked with our schedule. We are so glad we went, even if our stay was short. Cannot recommend this place enough. The rooms were amazing, the hosts were...

Beautiful B&B with period furniture and nice views from the rooms. Walking distance to town with historic sites including Holy Cross church and ancient stone circle. Got excellent advice on driving from John each day-easy access to the Beara pennisula and ring of Kerry. Also close to the Muckross House and the Gap of Dunlo.

Sallyport House is a beautiful property. The rooms are spacious with a large, comfortable bed and lovely antique furniture. It's a comfortable and quiet place with a dignity reflecting Janie & John, the brother and sister who operate it. Breakfast was excellent, everything to choose from in a lovely setting. John's directions were most helpful, and his suggestion that we...

This is a very beautiful grand house with history. Located in relative isolation yet close to the town. A beautiful path along water leads you to the main area of Kenmore where you can find restaurants and shopping. The room we stayed in was relatively large and very well appointed with a large colonial canopy bed. The house is well...

Beautiful rooms, very friendly staff, fantastic choice for breakfast. Kenmare is fab and this is an ideal hub for touring the Ring of Kerry and the Ring of Beara. Highly recommend staying here and was sorry we had to leave.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Sallyport House stands on the shores of the Kenmare River, in the far south of County Kerry, is known to those in the locality. It is a delightful Edwardian house in a really spectacular location, right on the edge of the harbor, surrounded by parkland and trees, and by Reenagross Woodland Park, yet still just minutes away from the center of busy Kenmare town, the most south-easterly point on the renowned Ring of Kerry. ... more   less
