Nestled in a picturesque setting, Mercure Danang French Village Bana Hills charms many guests with its elegant French-inspired decor and cozy ambiance. While the hotel's amenities, including early access to the Golden Bridge, are a highlight for some, others find room for improvement in the level of service and room quality.
The stunning views and proximity to local attractions are well-regarded, yet the value proposition is a point of contention among travelers, with opinions divided over the cost versus the experience offered. Cleanliness is consistently praised, ensuring a pleasant environment for guests.

We flew into Da Nang and went straight to Ba Na Hills. Bellman is very helpful - assisted our luggage to the cable car. However, we got a little lost due to the heavy fog, as the area felt like a maze. More directional assistance would be useful, and a small map for hotel guests would be a great help. At the lobby, the check-in was quick despite the large number of guests during Dec festives season. We were happy to be upgraded to a Duplex Suite, located same building with the main lobby and restaurant. The room was clean, quiet, and well-equipped. Once we got the paper map, activities were easy to find. The fitness center markings on the floor were helpful too. The fog lingered all day, making it hard to navigate, but the weather improved so much the next day after we check out. Buffet dinner in the hotel is good but not the lunch at Beer Plaza – too touristy, with a large crowd of day visitors and below average food. The check-out process was seamless, thanks to the bellman who helped with our luggage and guided us all the way to the cable car station again.
Note : prefer one-time use in-room slippers rather than the rubber slippers provided, due to hygiene concerns

Bonjour, Xin chào! Dear AdaC_Kul, Thank you for sharing your wonderful experience with us. We’re thrilled to hear that you had an enjoyable stay at Ba Na Hills and appreciated the assistance provided by our bellman. His dedication to making your stay comfortable is truly valued, and we are grateful for your recognition. We also understand your feedback regarding the fog and the maze-like layout of the area. Your suggestion of providing more directional assistance and a small map for hotel guests is fantastic, and we will certainly consider these ideas to enhance guest experience in the future. We’re glad that once you received the paper map, the activities became easier to navigate, and we’re happy to hear that the fitness center markings helped as well. While we are sorry for the inconvenience caused by the fog, we’re pleased that the weather improved the following day, allowing you to make the most of your trip. It’s great to know that you enjoyed the buffet dinner at the hotel, though we appreciate your feedback on the lunch at Beer Plaza. We will take your comments into account as we continue to improve our offerings. Thank you for highlighting the seamless check-out process and for your kind words about the bellman’s assistance once again. We also appreciate your note on the in-room slippers, and we will review the possibility of offering one-time use slippers for improved hygiene. We’re delighted that you had a memorable experience in Ba Na Hills and that you highly recommend a one-night stay. We truly hope to welcome you back in the future for another wonderful stay! Best regards, Guest Experience Team

This is the second time I came back to Mercure BaNaHill. Last time, I stayed in the Family room available with 1bunk bed and 1 king bed , which is more spacious for 1adults stay and 2 kids 11y and 13y.. This time I tried with an offer from Agoda for Deluxe Room (2 twins bed) with breakfast and dinner buffets free for 2 adults, the room is a bit tiny for 1 adult, 13y (consider as adult) and the 11y staying free, paid for only dinner buffet but not expensive. However the staffs are good, my room view is just perfect, we stay in the building Hotel de Paris (they have about 4 or 5 building with different tittles). We stayed there for 3 nights and all are great, the only thing is buffet will not change the menu even it's in the weekend. The kids will like the Fantasy park where available with many types of game. We are lucky in the second time staying with good weather, not raining much although we went there in the season of raining in Danang.

Being Mercure hotel this hotel on Ba Na Hill is nothing but impressive and beautiful. The rooms are within castle-like buildings which gives you a sense of time travel during the stay. All the facilities are very clean and well maintained and you can see the attentive service everywhere in the hotel. Meals and the staffs are the brightest highlights of the hotel, as they truly made the trip very memorable. Buffet breakfast and dinner were great with lots of local and international options. Make sure you can tương ớt hội an (Hoi An Style Chilli Sauce). All staffs are friendly and very attentive and they all are hardworking and caring making sure everyone is attended to despite the hotel can get really busy during check in and check out. Our luggage assistant was Mr Viet who went extra miles to assist us with our luggages and helped us carry it to the other side of the mountain (as the nearby cable car was closed for maintenance). With the steepness and the floor design of the hill, his assistance with our heavy luggage is greatly appreciated! Staying at the hotel does give you the privilege of seeing the hills light up at night and “exclusive” access to the Golden Bridge in the early morning.

If the weather is dry, it is a great place to visit. However, during the rainy season from October to December, it feels like a waste of money. Our visit was mostly spent sleeping, eating, and taking "nature showers" from the pouring rain, with no entertainment or opportunities to enjoy the views and the area.
1- From the cable car to the top, it was foggy, and we couldn't see anything through the windows. 2-At the check-in desk, it was packed with people waiting to check in. We had reserved two rooms—one for parents and one for kids—but were assigned rooms in two separate buildings far apart from each other. This was unacceptable, especially given the bad weather. Although the staff claimed we hadn’t specifically requested adjacent rooms, our reservation clearly stated "next to each other." After much back and forth, they eventually found a better option, and we got two rooms in the same building, albeit on different floors. 3- The floors in all the buildings were wet and slippery. While they had floor fans, it took a long time to dry the floors. They should consider adopting solutions like Japanese umbrella dryers and bags at each building to manage wet conditions more effectively. 4- Despite the poor weather, they charged the same as on dry days but provided no entertainment to compensate. They should prepare for the rainy season by setting up gazebos with activities or adding covered walkways. Visitors were barely able to take pictures and often rushed due to the rain.
I suggested during the raining season, do the day tour so you have an option come if the weather is dry and cancel or not to come if the weather is raining.

Bonjour, Xin Chào! Dear bj0523, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We sincerely regret that your visit coincided with heavy rain, impacting your enjoyment of Ba Na Hills and our hotel. We understand how frustrating it must have been to arrive with high expectations, only to find the views obscured by fog and limited entertainment due to the weather. While the rainy season can create a unique, misty atmosphere, we acknowledge that it may not be ideal for all guests. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience regarding your room allocation. We do our best to accommodate room requests, and we regret that this was not handled smoothly upon your arrival. Your feedback highlights the importance of ensuring better communication and prioritizing guest comfort, especially in adverse weather conditions. The safety of our guests is a top priority, and we appreciate your comments regarding slippery floors. We will review additional measures to improve wet weather management, such as more drying solutions and designated covered areas. We also acknowledge your suggestion regarding entertainment options during the rainy season. We appreciate this valuable input and will explore ways to enhance the guest experience during inclement weather. Your recommendation about opting for a day tour during the rainy season is noted. While some guests enjoy the cooler temperatures and foggy scenery, we understand that flexibility is key for those hoping to experience clear views and outdoor attractions. Thank you again for your detailed feedback. We genuinely appreciate it, as it helps us improve our services. We hope to have another opportunity to welcome you back under better weather conditions. Best regards, Guest Experience Team

Think Twice Before Booking This Hotel I’ve been an ALL Accor member for more 5 years and have stayed at numerous Accor properties in different countries, but this was by far the worst experience I’ve ever had with the chain.
Lack of Hospitality The front desk staff were unwelcoming at all. Upon check-in, I stood at the counter for nearly 10 minutes without so much as a greeting. Despite pre-checking in at the base of the hill, where I was assured I’d only need to collect my key upon arrival at the top, I ended up waiting over 30 minutes after walking through the rain, wet and uncomfortable, just to receive my room key.
Water Issues: A Frustrating Experience The provided drinking water was insufficient—just 1.2L for two adults and one child. When I asked to purchase more water, I was directed to the coffee shop, which was already closed. Despite explaining this, the receptionist insisted I go there. I was then sent to a nightclub, where I was offered water in paper cups because their glass bottles weren’t available for guests. This was not only inconvenient but made me question their commitment to guest comfort under the guise of sustainability. They did not charge me for additional water bottle as an apology at the end, but it was not what I was expecting.
Bellboys are great! While the bellboys were the saving grace of this stay—helpful, polite, and professional—the front desk staff were the complete opposite. Their lack of smiles and hospitality left a lasting negative impression.
Food and Dining The food was just an average. Despite trying their international dinner and two breakfasts, nothing stood out as remarkable. The café nearby had a out-of-stock limited menu, offering only Coke and pizza, which was disappointing for a hotel in such a location.
Regret Extending Our Stay We extended our stay by two nights, hoping to enjoy the cool weather and scenic surroundings, but deeply regretted it. The overall experience left us feeling frustrated and let down by a brand we had trusted for years.
In summary, this property does not reflect the high standards typically associated with Accor Hotels. Think twice before booking here—there are likely better options in the area.

Not worth it, it's a disorganized mess. Bad weather does not help all your luggage gets wet going from cable car to check in. Total meham, no order at all and no communication from front desk. I asked for a map, they had none. No information given on times of cable cars, how to get from one location to the other, benefits of being a guest and park access times, resturants or wifi info. Room bathroom is definitely not even 3 star and it's an upgraded room with balcony. I do not recommend.

Check in is at the base of the mountains then once you arrive via cable car (not included in hotel cost approx $40pp) at the top your escorted to the hotel lobby and the check in area for Accor members.
We arrived at 12:30 and advised our room would be available in 30 mins (so 1 hour early check in).
We received a room upgrade from a Deluxe Room to a Duplex Suite. Our room was located in Hotel de Paris. Some rooms are themed, ours was Coco Chanel.
Welcome gifts received, 4 x macarons + fruit. The welcome drinks available are included in the pics.
We dined for both lunch & dinner at Le Table Restaurant, receiving AccorPlus discount on meals & drinks. We enjoyed the meals & found the staff very friendly & attentive. Helen & Lemon are a credit to the hotel with amazing customer service.
Breakfast was buffet in the main restaurant however there is a dedicated area. I’m unsure if the area is reserved for all Accor members or members of a certain level? There was a wide selection of food at the buffet.
Checked out is 10:30am, we were offered a 12pm check out as Platinum members.
Hotel guests do get early access to the golden bridge and after hours access when the crowds have left.
Due to the weather/time of the year our entire stay was within the clouds. This did not impact our stay, we had very limited rain and found the experience magical.
This hotel is reasonably priced and a great base if you want to spend some time exploring Bana Hills / Sun World.

We stayed at Mercure for 2 nights at their Executive suite.
Viewing spots: The town itself, Golden Bridge and the nearby Pagoda. The township also has a fantasy park which our kids loved.
Pros:
Weather - Weather is a definite plus. It hovers around 20-22 degrees C. There is also some mist which descends from the clouds which is brilliant to see. Definitely recommend carrying some warm clothes while visiting.
Cable Car:
This is novel and well done. Cable cars connect you to Bana from Danang and to viewing spots within Bana.
Layout:
Bana Hills is laid out in such a way that you are never far from any building. The township is tiny and you can walk end to end in about 15-20 mins.
Cons:
Food - The food spread is appalling for such a resort. Especially if you are looking to eat healthy and/or are vegetarian. We had booked the dinner buffet which was very underwhelming. The breakfast buffet was equally disappointing. Even the taste was very bland.
Room Service: Another major failure is the room service. Our duplex apartment smelled musty initially. There was no hot water coming in the either of the bathrooms. A plumber showed up and said there is some problem with a "sensor" and thats why hot water isnt coming in the washrooms. He said he fixed it but he didnt. Considering how cold the place is, I would have assumed getting the guests hot water will be the priority.
We called for our rooms to be cleaned and no one showed up for more than 2 hours. Even after that we had to call the folks at reception 3 times before someone came.
This is a personal opinion but I dont think you should spend more than 1 night here if at all you are staying overnight. There is not much for adults to do. The food doesnt impress and neither does the bar.

Hi Zikry!
I hope you've been well. I came across your post here on tripadvisor regarding the check-in times at Mercure Danang French Village, I have the same concern right now as our arrival in Da Nang is at five PM, so we would most possibly get to Ba Na Hills around 7 PM.
Tried calling their reception and sending an email but to no avail. You've posted a month ago so I am hoping you could enlighten me on what happened (if your trip is already over), what happened? were you able to check in later than 5 PM?
Thank you so much in advance
