Mirage Whitsundays often receives accolades for its luxurious atmosphere, courtesy of its spacious rooms boasting modern amenities and stunning views. While the hotel's location is celebrated for its convenience and scenery, guests have mixed views on value, balancing the affordable luxury against certain unmet expectations. The amenities, including the well-equipped accommodations, are generally appreciated, although calls for a greater breakfast variety and additional pool shade have been noted.
Room cleanliness is consistently praised, though there are occasional mentions of maintenance issues. Service is well-regarded, with staff members often described as friendly and helpful, despite some reports of sporadic lapses.

Wow what an amazing hotel to stay in. This hotel provides affordable luxury & comfort. We felt like we were staying in a millionaires apartment with the standard of decor & the size/space provided not to mention the absolutely spectacular views. The staff could not be more helpful & the manager went out of his way to help us.
The bed was very comfortable & the apartment provides you with everything you need. I liked being able to wash & dry our clothes before we left, using the washing liquid provided. There was a lovely selection of tea/coffee etc along with milk which is topped up whenever you want. Room service came in once mid week of an 8 night stay which was perfect for us. The hotel offers Loccitane products for the bathroom & shower which was lovely.
The pool area is lovely and there is always beds available. The food in the bar/restaurant is also lovely, along with breakfast.
The resort is very quiet & we were not disturbed except for the beautiful birds in the morning.
There is the most beautiful board walk into town which takes approximately 20 mins all the way!
Three great restaurants to visit are The Garden, Sorrento’s & Northerlies across the bay.
We had such a memorable visit, we are already thinking of coming back again.

The new reception staff are so welcoming and friendly, they're like a warm hug when you walk through the doors. Hotel is probably about half hour walk to town, very steep hills, we had a hire care so it was about 3mins. Our room was number 78 in section C, which is right at the back at the highest point, fantastic views of beach. Room was expansive, full kitchen, excellent ducted air-con that actually worked beyond our expectations. Everything is modern with some high end name branded white good in kitchen and laundry. Full size fridge, huge bench and dinning table, comfy lounge suite, new LG smart TV, massive balonny more than 3 metres wide by full width of appartment. Beds are super comy bathroom and shower are excellent and spacious, shower has shampoo, conditioner and body wash. We loved our stay, wish it was longer. Activities we done were, Jet Ski two island, Jet boat, glass bottom boat, all highly recommended. I would of scored this resort complex a perfect one hundred except for three things. I seen elevator shafts dotted around the complex but boarded up, these would of made my elderly asthmatic mum's life a lot easier, to get to bar/ restaurant there's a really steep driveway and a flight of stairs, no problems for normal people, hard on a walking stick. Pool has two flights of stairs. At restaurant for dinner it was hard to order a meal let alone a drink, staff although very friendly, loved to talk to guest for extended times while everyone sat there praying for a drink to rehydrated. In the buffet breakfast staff should be more vigilant of kids trying to help themselves and general hygiene of guests, there's no hand sanitiser. Apart from a few niggles, yes I'll definatly be back

The property itself & the views were beautiful! The on site restaurant was convenient and everything we tried was delicious. I have to knock off a star though because the room itself seemed old and not kept up with normal maintenance (large marks on walls, chipped walls, faded furniture, rust stains, etc) and we had an ant problem in the kitchen so we could not use it. They seemed to be coming from a spot in the wall and from around the stove. When we called the desk they sent someone to clean the countertop…rather than spray a bug spray or have maintenance find the source. Its also a bit farther from town than the map would have you believe, so take that into consideration if you will be walking around on your trip!

I am very torn about this one. The staff were pleasant and they assisted us with our luggage all the way to our apartment. They happily answered all the questions we had. Nothing was too much trouble for them. The apartment was nice. It was very roomy, with comfortable beds and a great large balcony with beautiful view. The gardens were also lovely. It felt lush and comfortable. The walk to Airlie Beach is nice along the shore, but I'm not sure about the actual area the resort is located in. I didn't find it too appealing. However, that's where it ends for me. Unfortunately, as we started settling into our apartment, we started coming across many items that haven't been cleaned. I really don't want to go into all the detail, but their housekeeping department really needs a good look into. Things like a dirty tissue on the floor and strands of long black hair covering the lounge suite are not the things I expected to find in a resort like this. The bathrooms weren't very clean either. One of the spas, basin and taps needed a good polish and discarded soap wrapping on the vanity didn't help. I'm sure we left the apartment much cleaner than we found it. The family swimming pool area was even worse then our apartment. The cabana cushions and the tiles around the water edge of the pool were very dirty. Breakfast was extremely disappointing. So much so, that I only went the one time and barely ate anything. The food was not good at all and the fact that we couldn't even get a good coffee unless we paid extra was quite sad. Then having the coffee served in a paper cup really topped it off for me. The service there was also quite disappointing. We've even been given wrong information on the first day by one of the restaurant staff about dinner on that day. The restaurant hours are also ridiculous, but after the breakfast, I don't think I'd want to dine there anyway. I'm sorry to say, but this resort really need to lift its game.

Hello Romana, Thank you for taking the time to submit a review from your stay. We appreciate all sorts of feedback as this helps our business to improve and grow. It is always disappointing to hear that one of our guests was unhappy with their experience here at Mirage Whitsundays. Thank you for giving us the chance to assist during your time here, Our housekeeping team attended your room and re-cleaned any items that you found subpar. I am always thankful that you were so understanding once we dicussed the high levels of calcium in our water. I will pass your comments along to our restaurant team, they lease that space and are not controlled by us, however i am certain they will use your feedback to improve. Once again, thank you for providing this feedback and we hope to have the chance to welcome you back in the near future. Warm Whitsunday regards, Michael - General Manager

We spent a week at the Mirage Whitsunday with family, 22 of us. We had 1 Penthouse, 2 x 3 bedroom apartments and a 1 bedroom apartments all of the rooms had a plunge pool.
On arrival the Receptions team were so friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was included, I was little concerned about breakfast as I had read some bad reviews. We as a family had no complaints at all with Breakfast it was great, there was plenty to choose from and plenty of seating and the staff are so friendly. The bar is open for lunch and there is also the restaurant that is open certain nights, take way/ room service is also available on certain days. You are able to order cocktails, drinks and snacks and laze by the pool, happy hour was a hit with the grown ups. We spent most of our time at the family pool which has a small toddler pool a larger swimming pool and a spa. Plenty of seating and if you are lucky enough there are covered Cabanas.
The rooms are large and plenty big for families, the lounges are not the most comfortable and could do with replacing, the rest of the room was more then comfortable and stunning views from the veranda. Some family members on the lower floors said the floors above could be noisy at times. The 7 week stay included a service of cleaning and refreshed linens and towels. The grounds are also beautifully maintained.
There is a Coles located 15 minute walk and there are also a couple of local restaurants. There is a shuttle service from the Mirage that takes you into town as the Resort is just outside of town. We used the local taxi service when needed.
We loved it that much that we will definitely be back

We stayed in a two bed apartment for four nights. The apartment was huge with lots of space for 4 adults. It was equipped with everything we needed and having a washer and dryer was appreciated as we were in the middle of a long trip. The rooms were lovely and quiet and overall our stay was very relaxing. The view from the balcony was lovely and we had easy access to the boardwalk to walk to the Main Street which took 15-20 minutes. The hotel had a shuttle service a few times a day which was great (a shuttle in the late afternoon/evening would be great too). A buffet breakfast was available with lots of choice and the bar served lovely food and drinks too. The hotel is a little bit away from the Main Street however it is very easy to get a taxi or use the shuttle. We loved our stay here!

My husband and I stayed at the mirage whitsundays for our honeymoon. We booked a villa, which was incredible. The villa was spacious and well lit with wall to wall windows/doors onto the balcony. The view was breathtaking. The air con was already on for our arrival which was needed in the summer humidity. The villa was basically a full house with self contained kitchen and laundry. The main bedroom had a walk in robe and ensuite which had an outdoor shower as well as an indoor shower, a bath tub with spa jets and even a bidè for your toosh. In our villa we had our own private plunge pool. The resort has an adults only pool as well as a family pool with a pool bar. Whispers bar is where they have the complimentary buffet breakfast each day. You can't add drinks from the bar to your room tab as they are two separate entities so take some money with you if you're heading to the bar for any beverage coffee/alcohol. There is a gym right near the adults pool. You have your own access to the board walk just outside the resort. If you choose to walk in to Airlie Beach it's about a 20min walk from the resort. Alternatively you can catch the complimentary shuttle the resort provides to drop you into town. There is only one shuttle in the morning and it will pick you up in the afternoon and take you back to the resort. The shopping complex is only a short 10min walk which has a bank and the Coles supermarket. All the staff at the resort were really friendly and approachable which made our stay feel that much more comfortable. Consider the mirage for your next Airlie Beach stay.

We visited Airlie Beach for a wedding and this hotel was right next door to the venue. We booked the one bedroom ocean view (room 9) for 4 nights. The view was very nice. The apartment was large, modern and very quiet with a large kitchen. The bedroom and bathroom were one big room with a bath and a separate shower and toilet. There was a sliding panel to section off the bedroom and bathroom for privacy. The other bedrooms were locked during our stay. The bed was comfortable.
We had the free breakfast each morning which was buffet style with a variety of hot food, cereals, fruit, bread and little cakes. There were two lovely pools to choose from. We hired a car for 2 days and could park free of charge in the undercover car park. There was a free shuttle bus into town at 10, 12 and 2pm dropping off and picking up near the lagoon. As we were only staying 4 nights, the room was not serviced but that suited us fine.
It’s a short drive/taxi into town or a leisurely 20-30 minute stroll by foot depending on your fitness level. The boardwalk was under construction while we were there but little noise but a different route was needed to walk into town.
We would definitely recommend this hotel and will return for a longer stay next time to explore more of this beautiful area.

We stayed here in a 2 bedroom executive apartment with a private pool for a hens weekend, and wow were we impressed with our accommodation! The apartment was complete we didn’t need anything but our food! The beds were so comfy, rooms and bathrooms, kitchen and lounge all so spacious! Could do with some firmer pillows however, but lucky I brought my own. The bar area is kinda small, but you can access it via the pool area also. Breakfast was quite good for us, despite the local crows watching directly from above ready to pinch your food when you turn your back. We ordered room service one night for dinner and was surprised with our delivery, but tasty nonetheless. Parking was easy underneath the pool, and a short walk to our room. We didn’t want to leave after our stay. It was great, no issues, couldn’t hear noises from other rooms nearby and we’ll be happy to consider Mirage again in the future. Highly recommend!

Penthouse room and location was excellent with fantastic views of the coral sea and a scenic coastline walkway into Airlie Beach. It’s 5 stars for the room, view and location. The breakfast is extremely average and therefore, we did not use the breakfast restaurant. Dried out eggs and some sort of bacon with instant coffee, not a pleasant way to start the day in such a beautiful area. I was told that the restaurant is a separate entity to the resort accommodation business. It’s 1 star for the breakfast.
All the staff from the resort and the restaurant were helpful and friendly.
