Marina Shores enjoys a scenic location that's both tranquil and convenient, with guests frequently mentioning easy access to nearby attractions and the charm of Main Street. The hotel's amenities and the friendliness of its service often garner positive feedback, but some visitors have pointed out room for improvement in both these areas. While many find the rooms comfortable and appreciate the views, others have raised concerns about their cleanliness and maintenance. In terms of value, opinions are divided, with some guests feeling the experience doesn't justify the cost.

Marina shores resort
Best thing about this apartment was the view of the harbour. The apartment itself was fairly well stocked, could have done with some serving bowls, another tea towel, bin bags, milk, dishwasher detergent and some Kitchen paper.
Annoying to have to buy some essentials such as salt and pepper just for a few days. The master bedroom was lovely and nicely furnished, the second bedroom was quite poor compared to the master and could have done with a deep clean as it had quite a musty smell to it almost as if someone had a dog in there prior to our stay. There was no bbq at the property sadly. Shame about the lady who decided to bang doors, shout and swear at her partner night after night while we were there (2nd floor)!
The pool is small but nice however the sunbeds need replacing as a lot of them are broken. The resort itself looks a bit tired and they were building a new boardwalk right outside our balcony whilst we were there which was really noisy. Had we realised we would probably have moved to a different complex or hotel. The walk to the town is about 20 minutes downhill but you might want to get a local taxis back as it’s a steep hill so not for the faint hearted.
There is a local yoga/ Pilates studio which is amazing with all the latest equipment. There is a nice cafe next door (rainbow cafe) which is a 5 minute walk away.
Airlie Beach is stunning and the Great Barrier Reef trip is a must. Reception were very efficient at booking trips and organising transfers for us. The other trips we were not so bothered about although Whitehaven beach boosts to be one of the most beautiful in the world.
If I came again I would probably choose to stay in one of the hotels near the marina although possibly more pricey.

Thank you Julie for your very thorough review. All feedback is appreciated and is taken very seriously for us to strive to be better. As for you being disturbed by some other inconsiderate guests at 2am. I am sorry you weren't aware you can call the resort number afterhours where there is an onsite manager who can come out address such issues. Or we could have spoken to them the next day had you brought this to the Receptionists attention. So glad you found some of Airlie's hidden gems in and around Shingley Beach. Kellie and Sophia will be thrilled to read you found them efficient. They both excel in finding the right tour for our guests. Kind regards, Sarah | Experience at the atHotelgroup.com

This lovely apartment enhanced our visit to Airlie Beach. Great amenities like a washer and dryer, and a well stocked kitchen that allowed us to make some simple meals. As visitors from the USA staying a month in Australia having the ability to do laundry and make meals along the way is a major plus!

My Wife and I were told by the lady at Flight Centre where we booked that the town centre was within 10 to 15 minutes walk from Marina Shores, when we arrived it was obvious that we were given incorrect information.
Thanks to the pleasent young lady in reception (Charlie) she immediately put our minds at rest assuring us that she was there to help us make the most of our holiday,
which she did, always more than willing to help with what ever we required from booking taxis to suggestions on local eateries. etc.
Marina Shores has a wonderful ambassador in Charlie. one of the nicest ladies one could ever have the pleasure of meeting.
As for the complex our stay there was most pleaseant, the bed was very comfortable, the shower was nice and hot, the building was very clean, however the inside of the oven door needs a good clean and the shower floods the bathroom floor(due to the base having no fall to allow water to drain quickly) once again Charlie came to the recue supplying us with extra floor towels.
The sette was showing signs of age, we were informed that a new sette was on order.
The old sette did not detract from the pleasant time we spent in the complex.
Finnally my wife enjoyed a swim in the beautiful pool.

I have already recomended Marina Shores to a friend who is thinking of travelling to
Airlie Beach.

Thank you, Kevin. Charlie does go above and beyond. I am so happy to read she turned your experience around and you chose to stay. Yes, we are a little further away from town. But that's how we have a quiet, waterfront location. The time you have taken to leave your feedback is appreciated and has been given to the department heads for follow. Wishing you and your Wife the safest of travels. Regards, Sarah | Guest Experience at the atHotelgroup.com

There are some very nice appartments in this complex, HOWEVER..... We had booked a garden view and was given ROOM 102 which had a view of the bin store and check-in parking area!
We were extremely disappointed, but this was overshadowed with what we we found in the appartment. On opening the tumble dryer, to our horror, we found wet floor mop heads and a number of cleaner's rags!! We could only assume that they had been washed in our appartment's washing machine and left in the tumble dryer! Elsewhere, we found that the bathroom sink had sand in it and a lot of the basic crockery had scum marks on them. Cleaning is obviously an issue! We were disgusted, and when we complained, and asked to change rooms, we were told there were no other rooms available for the duration of our stay. On day three of our stay we received a letter of apology and a bottle of wine ....... frankly too little, too late! On departure we manged to speak to the Manager, who took responsibility for the cleaner's washing in the tumble dryer, and told us to take up the issue of the outlook of the room with our travel agent. So much for Customer Service! If you decide to stay here, check out what you are paying for......

Thank you Lovemehols2015 for taking the time to leave your feedback. We hope you also pass on your disappointment to your travel agent. Marina Shore did provide you with a Garden view room as requested. Our gardens are perfectly manicured and even have a common viewing area/table you can use should want to watch the stunning sunsets over Turtle Bay. Marina Shores do offer ocean/marina view apartments had your agent given you the option. Management did apologise for the mistake of the clean rags drying in your machine. Due to such high occupancy our one just wasn't keeping up. This was our mistake, and again are very sorry this was missed. I'm happy to hear you did get out daily and enjoyed the fabulous Whitsundays. We wish you safe travels on your forward journey. Kind regards, Sarah | Guest Experience at the atHotelgroup.com

Booked a 2 bedroom penthouse for 5 nights in November and was looking to the 5 star that had given it. On Arrival location was great, friendly lady at check-in and let us check in early due to our flight, grounds are well kept and views are amazing. That is were it ends, paying a premium price and thinking a penthouse, all the furniture carpet looks original when it was built years ago nothing is maintained all dirty. The roof top deck not usable in summer period due to extreme heat there is no cover or shade up there to even use it. The balcony on main area was ok. The second bedroom set up a king beds ok but I have been in bigger inside cabins on a cruise ship that had more space, there is not table to put your phone or anyone on a table as nothing fits at the sides of bed, not block out shade so there brick glass wall that lets the light in from outside, also similar to master bedroom light shines in. The carpets in the bedrooms are fully stained, the ensuite to the second bedroom is not attached and its about the size of a closet. The drain in there all you could smell is sewer gas. Kitchen is bid, the lounge chairs leather as so uncomfortable all cracked and just dirty, needs an entire paint job, and full clean, walls, door jams even the mop is cheap budget / rusted and dirty. If you want a pool towel that will cost you $5 to hire, never been anywhere in the world at resort or hotel that charges for pool towel. Overpriced and not 5 star

Extremely disappointed in the cleanliness and service with marina shores. I read some negative reviews online after I book so thought I would give them a phone call to discuss the condition of the room and was assured that the room would be in great condition and have nothing to worry about. When we arrived the room was filthy with dead bugs, dust, ants, soap grime all over the shower screen, food and dirt all over the floors, the cooking items and oven were disgusting and just a top sheet on the bed. The first night I woke to have ants through the food in the cupboard so had to throw the food out. The sun lounge was broken and requested to have that fixed, the room cleaned and be reimbursed for some of the money paid. Was told by management that I would be reimbursed some off my booking fee but never happened. People came to look at the room and were extremely rude about having to make an effort to clean the room. I wish I had canceled my booking and stayed elsewhere. I would not recommend Marina Shores at all. I would definitely look elsewhere. There was no effort and pride put into the presentation of the room and was very disappointed with little effort to rectify it. Would never stay there at Marina Shores again. The pictures are fantastic on the website but the condition of the rooms are nothing like it. I’ll say it again, Very disappointed 😞

Apartment 219 very very disappointing more like a 3 star motel and that is been generous.
Apartments in this complex are individually owned and if you are fortunate enough to get an apartment that has been well maintained and presented in a manner that you would expect for $500 a night then you will not be disappointed.
Unfortunately our experience was not the case. We were greeted by Emma who was very helpful but that’s where it ended. Our apartment reeked of bleach and stunk for a number of hours even after airing the place. The decor is dated and the lounges uncomfortable. The beds were lumpy and well past their use by date. The air conditioning was broken and had been an issue according to Emma for a while. There is obvious wear and tear in this apartment that has not been addressed by management and this apartment should be removed from the booking system until it is bought up to standard expected by its price point. The grounds and gardens are well maintained but the pool is NOT HEATED as advertised and in July it was very cold Also if you need to stay connected to the outside world the WI-FI is not much better than dial up which I found very frustrating when researching and booking restaurants etc online.
Even with the amazing view not a place I would return to or recommend as you won’t know what apartment you are assigned until you arrive.

Wonderful quite location , with spectacular water and garden views from our one bedroom apartment on the ground floor. Easy walking distance to restaurants and bars via senic shoreline walkways and the Marina , where we could take advantage of a variety of boating tours departing from the terminal. Charlee and Bea from Marina Shores were very helpful in welcoming us and nothing appeared to be too much trouble.

The lady at reception was genuinely helpful but that’s about where the enjoyment of the stay at Marina Shores stopped. $2000 for 6 nights and the room was not cleaned properly, dirty dishes in dishwasher, missing a chair on the balcony, badly patched hole in a wall, broken bathroom and toilet locks, sofa with multiple torn sections, stains on the tile floor, broken bathroom and toilet locks, missing blinds and on the list goes. Not at all worth the money, save yourself the stress and stay elsewhere.

Coming from Brisbane this was our first trip to Airlie my partner and I very excited. From the moment we got here problems we were late to check in, So we had to ring a number from reception to help us check in and get our keys. No answer for a long time left us waiting outside reception. Then the room amazing view stunning looking over the water. The room was extremely dirty , soap scum all over the dirty shower, inside the shower Mould all over it. Dirty bath , dirty kitchen. Dead bugs under the microwave causing ants. Food or rubbish under the sink plugs. Dirty crockery. Extremely dirty lounge. We went shopping and my partner bought all cleaning chemicals so she could clean the whole place , she cleaned the shower all the kitchen , swept the floor and mopped. She said the next people to stay in 134 should have a clean room. Tried to wash our clothes washing machine was not working properly. Extremely disappointed with our room at marina shores will not be back. Will 100% be back to Airlie was an amazing place.
