One night spent here to see Airlie Beach as part of a road trip. I have stayed an a few of these NQ/FNQ Mantra properties and must say this - they are often older and refurbished but not quite refurbished well. This is no exception. The staff on the desk were lovely but the room was average at best. The room itself had been refurbished to a reasonable standard but the bathroom was just not up to scratch. The shower was so small you touched the sides when you moved. Walls stained with steam/condensation and tiles and fittings very dated and worn. Almost like being in two different rooms. In terms of cleanliness, all appeared ok until you saw the layer of dust caked on the wall and art behind the bed, and all around the base of the bed side tables and bed head (room 123). Also not great to have showered before bed and when getting into the shower the following morning your feet are dirty obviously from wherever you walked inside the room. Terrible for those with respiratory issues.

And as is typical with Mantra, lacking in panache - not up to world/community standards where simple features would lift the overall enjoyment of the resort - instant coffee in rooms, rooms not serviced daily, no power points beside beds, no easily accessible power point for kettle, having to pay for a cappuccino at breakfast (when you can get endless coffees at breakfast in hotels all over Europe for free!), and cold food on the hot buffet at breakfast, no option for upgraded pillows etc.

In terms of location, this hotel is a little out of the main area of Airlie Beach but it was a nice 1/2 hour walk in. That said, you have to cross a main road (multiple lanes with cars travelling at high speed). Not a very ideal place to cross safely especially if you had children. Another addition could be a shuttle bus into town from the hotel.

Whilst the staff were lovely, we’ll return to Airlie Beach for a better look but would definitely chose somewhere else to stay.

We stayed at Mantra Club Croc for five nights and it was mostly an enjoyable time.

The bar and pool area is lovely and the staff were all very welcoming. There is a decent lunch and dinner menu however, there are only around two options for vegetarians, and they are very basic and boring. Staff were able to put some veggies on a margarita pizza for my partner however, this seemed like a one-off that they might not accommodate for all the time. The food was rather expensive for what you got. The buffet breakfast is worth it if you get it included in your accommodation and had many options so everyone can enjoy something.

Our coastal interior room was bigger than expected however during our stay a simple vacuum would have been nice, especially as this is a beachy area and sand is a guarantee. Nobody likes to wipe the sand off of their feet before they get into bed. It would be nice if all rooms had a broom so you could at least sweep out the sand.

The location is alright, it’s a short walk to the first marina however, if going into town a taxi is well worth the $10 if you can get one. It seems that the taxi drivers are not incentivised to use the 13Cabs app in this area and Uber is not available. This lead to us almost being late to a tour as no taxi ever accepted the ride and we had to walk.

The cellphone reception is pretty spotty and bad and it doesn’t help that the wifi is very expensive and unreasonable for modern usage.

Reception is 24/7 and were always able to assist with any questions. The hotel had a laundry room however dollar coins are required and reception can only exchange physical cash for coins. This is a bit annoying as the nearest ATM is at the shopping centre up the road.

Overall the stay was alright, however, we will probably be looking elsewhere next time we come to Airlie Beach.

We have stayed here on our last two visits to Airlie Beach, because we require disability access and have found it meets our requirements comfortably. The bathroom, shower, vanity and toilet are all purposely usable for a wheelchair user. As is the bed, fridge, television, ramped entry doorway, carpark to entry, etc...
We just cannot use most standard rooms and we often find that specialised facilities are not at all what we expected from how they have been promoted. So once my wife and I find somewhere as comfortably suitable as Mantra Club Croc Airlie Beach, we preferably stay there to avoid finding ourselves stranded on arrival due to unforeseen obstacles.

This seems like it has the potential to be a lovely hotel. However, a general sense of malaise emanates from the staff, who willingly comply with requests but do not seem able to muster a sense of enthusiasm or create an enjoyable atmosphere. That being said, the pool area is delightful and the room was very comfortable, though unserviced.

We prepurchased the resort “cocktail cards” at the beginning of our stay. This seemed like a great deal until, upon ordering and drinking the cocktails, it became clear that we had committed to $200 worth of very expensive juice. There was little to no actual alcohol content in these drinks- to test this theory we ordered and drank four cocktails in quick succession (the Long Island ice tea, a grapefruit martini, a watermelon mojito and a lavender gin). Not only was there no taste of the alcohols that you would expect in these cocktails, but there was not even a slight sense of tipsyness, after four drinks each. The bar staff were certainly pouring from alcohol bottles at the bar, so we were perplexed by the situation. Our confusion was corroborated by another resort guest who informed us he had immediately switched from spirits to beer, as “I know it came from a keg”.

After staying at the resort i doubt we will ever be coming back. It's long but worth reading!!!
we booked 2 rooms costing over $400 for 1 night which were lovely, the pool was relaxing but when we went down for dinner the most unacceptable services was had.
when we sat down and started looking at the menu a lady came over and started wiping down out table which then she accidentally knocked a glass off the table smashing all over the ground at mine, my partners and my toddlers feet. we happily changed to a different as accidents happen.
I ordered bubs dinner well before we ordered out so it came out as soon as possible as she was hungry, then i asked the waitress if the fish and chips were the fish bits and she said yes as its the only ones i get for bub to make sure of no bones. i then ordered and then when this waitress came over with drinks she spilled a whole glass of beer all over the table, our entree, our laps and our toddler. again annoyed but we let it go as accidents happen. After a while i checked where it was but the order was never actually placed at the kitchen. when the meal came out the chips were freezing cold, the fish was boiling hot. And to my shock the fish that came out was NOT fish bites as first guaranteed, it was a big fillet of fish. when i questioned it 3-4 staff all agreed that it is how they serve kids fish and chips. firstly i was clearly lied to or the lady i ordered it through has no idea what is served and then to have little kids served fillets of fish. we were already upset about this and then to top it off while my partner was going through the fish to check for bones in the hope our baby can eat dinner he found a BONE!!! The so called FAMILY FRIENDLY resort are happily serving fish with bones to 1 year old toddlers!!. I don't think we have been so angry in our lives that they can allow this to happen not just once but constantly. Not causing a scene was the hardest thing. that was the final straw so we left and had to have takeaway because our little one was upset and starving by this point. on the way back through the restaurant the manager offered us complimentary breakfast in the morning and told us that it goes until 10am. again to let it all go we accepted as it was a nice gesture, so at 9.30am we all went down for our breakfast to find out that the manager informed us wrong and that breakfast finished at 9am and were then only offered cereal at our rooms. Turns out the manager who offered and told us the incorrect times is new so easy mistake but this just topped it all off. we went back and packed out rooms and left, we just couldn't spend another minute in this place as it was the worst get away we've had. wasted over $400 on accommodation plus other costs to wished we had just stayed home.
Club Croc really needs to invest in better staff training and re-evaluate the kids menu. Currently it's not worth the stay.

The staff at Mantra Club Croc were fantastic . From helping organise our airport transfer , right through to end end of our stay .
Our room was simple yet quite spacious with everything we needed .
Boasting a lovely lagoon pool and spa fantastic for unwinding with a cocktail , mocktail or snack .
Breakfast was included in the price with a great choice available from hot or cold eats , all served with great hygiene practices in place .
The special dinner nights we attended , pasta night and steak night , were delicious and great value for money . So easy after after a long day on the water .
It was a great walk along the boardwalk into Airlie Beach through marina , just take a water bottle . It is approx 3.2 kms , but well worth the views along the way .
A special shout out to the staff , especially Sally Anne in front check in . Such a vibrant warm and helpful host . Great face for the Mantra Group !

Not going to lie, when we arrived we did get back packer vibes despite the no party policy. Fortunately as the day went on the younger guests headed out and the restaurant and pool areas felt allot more resort style.

Pool area is stunning, as is the restaurant! Cocktail hours are a real vibe with music and restaurant staff handing out complimentary snacks and icy poles.

Cannot complement the staff enough. So friendly and willing to go the extra mile. Food is also delicious, cocktails are excellent. Complementary breakfast is also fabulous, huge variety.

Rooms are a let down. For families I would highly recommend joining rooms as the family rooms are tiny. Ideal for short trips, and when travelling in a group however, by the end of our 5 night stay the lack of space and only one bathroom was slightly frustrating.

Location is around a 20 minute walk into Airlie CBD however, taxi only costs around $8 and are easily accessible. Also a shopping complex next door that also has a chemist, bottle shop and sushi train ect.

I stayed here with a friend for 9 nights. Based on the photos online when we booked I wasn’t too sure what we were going to walk into but we were pleasantly surprised. The hotel is lovely and clean and has great amenities including pool, spa and restaurant with regular live music that can be heard up on the balcony in the evenings. The hotel is a little way away from Airlie beach city centre but 30 mins walk, bus trip or cheap $8 or so taxi are easy to arrange. We hired a car and it was a 5 min drive. Just a street from the ocean and close to local shopping centres we were happy. The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating to all of our needs, even when we were being a bit high maintenance! I had an issue back home that had to be resolved and Marilyn was extremely helpful and supportive in printing off documents etc for me. Thanks for being so accommodating!

A simple yet very well designed family getaway spot. Rooms are basic but it doesn’t claim to be a Peppers Bluewater or Sheraton Mirage. This place is built for family fun with a fantastic pool and oodles of space to relax with a drink. Unfortunately if you’re staying through the week you have to wait until 4pm for that cocktail, a service I would’ve thought would’ve been increased given how busy the area is. Dining options are quite good particularly for dinner.. however again there are limited timeframes for meals.

The location is worth mentioning, if you’re looking for a relaxed, sit by the pool getaway then the privacy is great. If you’re heading out to the islands or spending a lot of time in town the location is a potential problem if you haven’t self-driven. Without a pre-booked transfer you have a heavily surcharged taxi ride in and out of town (5-10mins depending on traffic ) and a further couple kilometres to the Port of Airlie. All a minor inconvenience if your organised or prepared for some good exercise.

Overall a great value for money stay for the family’s out there looking to keep the kids entertained for a few days and enjoy some time to relax. Probably not the choice for the adventurer or couple looking for a romantic getaway. But then again I still enjoyed my stay.

We stayed three nights over New Years Eve and found the overall experience to be wonderful. Nice spacious room with a comfortable bed and basic neccessities inlcuded like cable TV, Fridge, AirCon. VERY quite room so great for getting to sleep. Beauftiful lush tropical gardens surrond the pool and all rooms face in towards the central pool area to give it a feeling of cosiness. The restaurant was well laid out and served very reasonably priced meals with a decent variety. Staff were very helpful and friendly despite being a little overwhelmed on New Years eve due to demands. You can see the bulidng has some age on it but it is well maintained and comfortable. Our shower was quite small and there was no exhaust fan in the bath room so it was steamy.
