Here pre cruise for 3 nights, friendly and professional staff on checking in. We were early and we were happy to leave our bags till our suite was ready and explore North Sydney for an hour till they rang us. They gave us a lovely letter and bottle of wine to celebrate our anniversary too which was totally unexpected, thank you Meriton. Our suite was a standard one bedroom, we asked if there was one with a nice view and they were able to accommodate us in 1810 on the 18th floor. It had a balcony with seating for 2 with partial views towards Kirribilli and the harbour, we could see part of the opera house, we loved it! Double glazing cut out most of the traffic and road construction sounds. The suite was roomy, extremely clean, well equipped kitchen/laundry, comfy bed, 4 pillow choice (we used 2 pillows as extra cushions for the roomy lounge couch. Staff happy to provide extra supplies upon request as no daily servicing which we were happy with. Lots of eating places/supermarkets/liquor outlet within 3 minutes walk.Tip: when you get your room card you can use it to access entry from the rear of the hotel, a handy short cut. At Meriton Suites North Sydney the amenities, location, views and price are all as pleasing as always. This review is focused on the properities staff as they are worthy of praise for providing that essential element needed in a hotel stay that is sometimes lacking at their competitors properties. That is the staff make you feel comfortable, the key component required for the experience to be a happy one. From check in to check out every interaction with the staff was cheerful, positive and left me with a smile on my face. Of particular note the efforts of Sanchit and Benjamin at check in and Neil and Dedy during my stay were those of people who cared about the quality of my stay and went above and beyond what I've experienced elsewhere. I arrived and the girl who checked me in was professional and fabulous The next morning at 4.30am I realised that no towels had been placed in our room I had to dry myself with a face washer and a bath mat . While I appreciate that this was a simple mistake. I was very disappointed and angry that my daughter was questioned about this as though we were mistaken or not telling the truth The reason I was showering so early was that I was going to hospital for very serious surgery Later the next day when towels finally arrived (one for each bathroom not two) one of the towels was thread bare What I would use for a rag I was most unhappy and the next day asked my daughter to request two more towels Again she was questioned At nearly $1000 a day in a luxury unit this is unacceptable Apart from this experience the stay worked well for our needs To be clear it’s the attitude that was the real problem not the mistake

We had a stay in early January in the Meriton for a family wedding in Mosman. We pushed the boat out and booked a 2 bedroom harbour view room and stayed on the 26th floor. The check in was efficient and the rooms are modern and the hotel is well located close to shops, restaurants and a Cole’s metro. It’s very work centric location and our stay was on the weekend and it was hard to find even a coffee shop open, many restaurants were closed but this could be just early January with many people fleeing the city on holidays.
The view is truly spectacular looking out over the opera house, harbour bridge and the room captures the view well. With the balcony doors open the noise of the traffic on the bridge is constant even on the 26th floor but there are double glazed doors and windows so noise can be managed.
Unfortunately, we had some serious cleanliness issues with the room when we arrived which really dampened what could have been a really nice room and stay. To the credit of the duty manager this was remedied promptly and efficiently. Bottom line, you shouldn’t be putting guests into a room that hasn’t been cleaned well and hygienically and this isn’t a cheap hotel or room and in this respect it fell below our expectations.

My family recently stayed at the Meriton Suites and I highly recommend it for young families. We caught the train from Newcastle and walked from North Sydney Station. We eventually worked out how to go through the Plaza walkways and use the elevator, it was pram friendly. It’s located within a 5 min walk of the station and is close to Coles Metro, Chemist Warehouse, Priceline, cafes and Betty’s Burgers. The check in was easy and we left our luggage as we were early. We were given an umbrella as it was raining and the hotel called when our room was available. The cot cost $20 for two nights but came with a kids toiletry set which was a cute touch. Would prefer cots to be included in price but the set up was great with our child sleeping in the lounge room. In the suite, everything was thought of. Oven, dishwasher, washing machine and dryer. Signs saying that a rice cooker and GHD straightener were available on request. We cooked our own breakfast and prepared lunch for our day at the Zoo. The bed was comfortable, the air con worked wonderfully and room was great. The casting feature on the tv allowed us to watch a movie with one of our subscriptions. It was good that we could open the sliding door to the balcony for fresh air. We were really happy with the Meriton Suites and will stay again.

I stayed here for almost two months on a business trip. While I had stayed at the North Ryde location in the past, I chose this location for an extended stay due to the location which was very convenient to get to work but also into town quickly for sightseeing on the weekends. Metro and train stations both a 5 minute walk from the hotel. Had a sizable suite with a view of the Opera House and Harbor, which also meant views of the occasional fireworks. It was great! I would like to give a heartfelt shout out to Neil at reception who went out of his way to make my stay even the more special - he went above and beyond when I had needs and always had a smile on his face. He was new to the job when I started and I can see why they hired him - his focus on an outstanding guest experience is top notch. Thank you Neil! What could be improved: housekeeping was a bit lacking in my opinion. It was inconsistent and frankly, I expected more, particularly since my stay was so long. North Ryde location’s housekeeping was far superior.

The Meriton North Sydney is located very close to North Sydney train station making it very easy to get into Sydney and Circular Quay. The rooms were very quiet and very minimal noise during the night. The only thing was the cleaning of the rooms was done every 3 days not everyday as expected.

Let me start with the positives…. Excellent staff…room size, cleanliness superb… room 1909 excellent corner glass external window wall views of city opera house and harbour bridge. Room facilities exceptional. Adequate pods and drinks sachets .
Points to consider for guests better experience.
Maybe one small sachet of washing powder for machine. Small dish cloth and tea towel for kitchen area with sachet of dish soap.
Negatives
Bedside table light useless as no facility to plug into power. No prior email to planned closure of pool for refurbishment. Surely this was programmed well in advance of our arrival ie 7 days notice by email?
Conclusion
Having been refunded 10% of our room charge for the disruption of the pool … only when questioned as to why and how long the pool was out of use…I believe at the time of check in this should have been proffered.

Charging an EXTRA $35/day to get my suite cleaned was a complete rip off. I had to repeatedly request for toilet items? The TV channels were antiquated. No sport channels to watch EPL soccer matches or cricket? The side tables should have drawers. There must be a USB at the bedside n at the desk to charge the iPhone. We paid $529 a night and we didn't get our bed made, We didn't get coffee or milk in the morning , We didn't get new clean or dry towels. When we arrived at our hotel at at 7pm the lady started to check us in and told us that they didn't have a car park for us and we had to park down the road in car park, I said that was fine then she walked away to do something with my credit card in the room out the back, then she walked away and a guy came to finish my check in ??? He told me our room may not have been cleaned yet and we may need to come back they are trying to call house keeping I told the hotel when I booked we will be checking in at 3pm ??? I said we will go and park the car and get an update when we get back. the room was cleaned for us to get our key when we got back to the hotel. Now if you pay $529 a night for a hotel suite which is to be 5 Star you would think that they would make your bed and give you new coffee, milk, shampoo and conditioner???? On Saturday we went out into the city at 8.30am we cleaned up our room for housekeeping and we put a note on our bed to say sorry about the blood on the sheets and could we have new sheets (as my husband had a cut open on his Arm) we needs new sheets. The shower has a gap so the water goes on the floor, so we used our towels to clean the floor. When we got to the room at 9.30pm that night no one had been in our room. So for $529 a night and we had walked all around Sydney city from 8.30am to 9.30pm in the cold. we had to sleep in a bed that had blood on the sheets then when we went for a shower we had no shampoo and conditioner to wash our hair and then we had to pick our towers up of the bathroom floor. Then in the morning we had an hour to get up and check out we had no coffee or milk - NOT HAPPY FOR $529 A NIGHT This is not 5 star.
