We were upgraded to a nice and fresh room that we got access to already at 9 o'clock in the morning when we arrived by taxi from the flight. Beautiful resort in the center (also for nightlife) and overlooking the beach. The rooms are set in a tropical garden whose paths are made of sand. In each veranda there is a barrel with water to wash your feet. Our room was very large, with veranda outside. Very clean and equipped with everything you need (including water every day). The breakfast room / restaurant overlooks the sea. Breakfast is not super but still quite satisfactory. There are two swimming pools and large common areas. In addition, there are also masseuses. We absolutely loved our stay at Chaweng Gardens and can’t wait to get back there! The location is perfect for the beach, bars, restaurants, markets, public transport - everything is close by. We requested a twin room and the hotel very candidly recommended we didn’t go with this option due to the nighttime noise from the street and Arkbar. My daughter was adamant she wanted her own bed anyway so we did go with the twin room. It was loud almost every night but to be honest it didn’t bother us. We sat on the balcony some nights singing along to the music. We did really appreciate the honesty of the hotel on check in by warning us of this - I’ve never known this at another hotel! Every staff member we came across was so friendly and approachable and really helped to make our stay. If we had to pick one thing for improvement it would be that the rooms are a little outdated but this really didn’t effect our stay in the slightest. It is kept clean and that’s all that mattered! We have been spending our holidays on Koh Samui for 21 years. We were guests at the Chaweng Buri Resort for 15 years. Then we spent 4 years at Ban Chaweng and since 2023 we have been enjoying the very special flair of the Chaweng Garden Beach Resort. Located in the heart of Chaweng, the complex is designed like a very well-kept, tropical garden. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The guys on the beach take great care of the guests and are always up for a bit of fun. The boss, an older lady, welcomes guests on the beach every day. The resort is located in the arrival and departure lane of USM airport, but the planes can only be heard for a very short time and do not bother us in the slightest. The neighboring Ark Bar makes some noise from early afternoon onwards with its loud bass, but this does not bother us either. In the bungalow, the bass can only be heard very quietly and has never disturbed our very restful sleep. The selection of food and drinks for breakfast is very extensive. We can also highly recommend a dinner on the beach with freshly grilled fish and seafood. We will be happy to come back.

This Resort is the first of the best stretch of beach, in front of the hotel the water is always clear and with many fish, while moving (even slightly) to the north worsens sharply as being closed by the rocks, the water stagnates. The beach is wide and you can enjoy some cool under a huge pergola that also houses some squirrels, which covers deck chairs and tables available to guests, where at any time of day you can order some snacks or lunch. Fantastic BBQ of shellfish in the evening! The rooms are large and clean and the pool that passes between the houses is very pretty. We had a pool villa and I would highly recommend not staying in one unless you like to hear the squealing, screeching, shouting and yes some laughter of kids from early morning to late evening. If your idea of a good resort is to have the same atmosphere as your local public pool in summer time, then this might be for you. If you are looking for quiet, calm and a bit of tropical serenity, then I would not recommend staying here.
The resort is also right next door to the Ark beach club, which has blaring dance music going all day long. If you are out in the water in front of the hotel, you can barely carry on a conversation without shouting. The constant noise everywhere in this resort took away from any natural beauty it has.
Also to note is that this end of Chaweng beach has a large natural breakwater offshore, so there are no waves. The water is flat and not great for swimming if you like to play in the waves.
The restaurant we found to be of decent quality, but also 50% more than the resort we stayed at further south on Chaweng beach.
The resort does have a very nice natural tree canopy over top of the lounge chairs on the beach, which was nice. However, there was never a chair available after 9am, as people set their towels out early to hold the chairs for the day.
If we could have moved after our first night we would have, but the resort was non refundable, so we had to endure for 4 nights.
