We have just spent a weekend with Deborah and Peter Bettney, the owners of a lovely B& B in the Derbyshire Dales near Bakewell. The views over the dales were tremendous as well as the Swallows and wildlife around the farm. They could not have been more helpful in recommending restaurants and helping us with logistics as we were in...

We spent four nights here in early October and can whole-heartedly recommend it, the only drawback being that it may become too popular and it may not be available for our next visit! This area of outstanding beauty is reflected in the character of the owners: generous lovely people, thoughtfully appointed rooms, delicious breakfasts that set us up for the...

We've just returned from our stay at Congreave Farm. We were looking for great accommodation in a rural setting but close to Bakewell so that we could have a base for sightseeing and this completely exceeded our expectations. The farmhouse is absolutely gorgeous in the most beautiful tranquil location. Our hosts were really lovely and made us extremely welcome. The...

I stayed here with my Mother on a trip to the area in which we also visited our extended family in Derby. What a fabulous find it was. Such a beautiful place in a fabulously situated quiet farm cottage overlooking a wonderful scenery of Stanton on the peak. Really made to feel welcome, with very friendly hosts and lovely full...

My wife and I stayed for four nights earlier this month (July), having read the previous reviews. We were certainly not disappointed. A wonderful stay in a beautiful location with typical farmhouse accommodation. We stayed in the red room which was spacious, well appointed and comfortable with lovely views.Ideal to visit Bakewell, Buxton, Matlock, Castleton and Chatsworth House, with so...

It is so comfortable, peaceful and relaxing, that we didn't want to leave. It is undeniably, the most comfortable bed, we have ever slept in + and we are fussy sleepers. We're actually going to order a mattress just like that one! Spotlessly fresh and clean and extremely cosy and homely with loads of attention to detail. It is 7...

What can I say, but wax lyrical over this peaceful place. Although it is easily accessible from the A6, the moment one begins the drive up to this tucked away farmhouse which overlooks the beautiful natural environment surrounding it, there is a sense of leaving any worries and stress behind. Sleep came easily later that evening in our tranquil room...

Just stopped with Deborah and Peter at the Congreve B and B and can't rate it highly enough. Not only was it a beautiful tranquil setting but the people were just lovely. Bedrooms were beautiful, comfortable with everything you could ask for, real luxury with the best relaxed atmosphere. Breakfast was delicious, nothing too much trouble. Should be a 5...

Deborah and Peter gave us a warm welcome, a comfortable bed, a hearty breakfast, and treated us to wonderful tales of the adventures of farming life. The walk through the fields to get to the start of our walks or bus journey was only 15 minutes or so, so coming without a car was never a problem, and being away...
