Found this place on a walk at the end of the canal. Great place which offers a bit for everyone from drinks, pub food, restaurant, function rooms and hotel. Done a very good job of creating different atmospheres depending why you're there and their Christmas offerings are impressive. From a simple 2 course lunch to dinner, dine and disco or... More

Will say when it's bad and say when is good and this recent visit has totally redeemed itself from our last visit earlier this year. Service was better, food great and new menu easier to handle. Stayed at the cottages behind the hotel ..Tewitfield Locks overlooking the canal basin. Excellent accommodation.

This hotel was a great find for us on the way down south, infact we booked it for the return journey home. The room was perfect. The staff were first class and the food was very good. The restaurant had a very good menu and the food was very good. Nice bar with good cask ales .

Food was fabulous if a tad slow arriving but when it's busy and your with friends you don't really notice. Only one small problem never saw the... More

Arrived at 7.30pm busy bar area but found a table no problem. Ordered off the Sunday menu chicken on kale with hotpot potatoes served with swede and carrott mash. Chicken was succulent and veg cooked to perfection. Friendly bar and waiting staff. Would definately eat here again. Dog friendly too !
