Warm welcome on a wind swept night. First class room with ensuite and a fabulous breakfast to follow. A fellow guest said he had been coming to Blackdown Farm for over 20 years - must be the free range hens and the scrambled eggs. Graham Bromilow, Llangollen, N.Wales

The photographs of this property look good and when you arrive it is even better. The barn has been converted to an excellent standard and is complimented by lovely quality furnishings and fittings. The beds are so comfy and the linen ensures a great sleep. The kitchen is well stocked with quality tableware and plenty of it even if the...

Our week stay at Manor Barn was lovely. The interior was high spec with large rooms and the highlight the first floor lounge with views over the fields. Chrissy was very welcoming but not intrusive and very helpful when our boys' football got stuck on a barn roof! She also supplied numerous tennis balls for the boys to throw for...

We were thrilled with this B&B. Our room was huge and very sunny, looking out onto fields. The bedlinen and furnishings were of good quality and we had everything we needed including free wifi. We enjoyed the comfortable surroundings so much that we sat outside in the pretty garden after breakfast. Dartmouth is only 4 miles away and this accommodation is...

Stayed 2 nights at this property & had a beautiful room. The welcome was second to none & the breakfast was great. Good location & plenty of parking. Set well away from any road so was very peaceful & lovely grounds.

Another amazing stay at Blackdown Farm again this year. I had forgotten how good the bacon was, breakfast is gorgeous. Chris was the perfect host again, and I agree with one of the other comments - she could show others how it's done! An absolute pleasure to stay here. Next year will be 3 years in a row. Can't wait....

When I looked up this B&B on here I thought "It can't be that good.", I was wrong, it was every bit as good if not better. Christine could make a fortune showing other B&Bs how it is done, it felt more like visiting a friends house rather than being in paid accommodation. I could write lots of superlatives, which...

Beautiful peaceful setting in lovely countryside yet only 15 mins drive from the gorgeous town of Dartmouth. Very friendly welcome. Fantastic breakfasts! Such a choice from fresh fruits and yogurts to cereals and a full English. Tea, coffee and biscuits in room. Constant piping hot water for the lovely corner bath.

We stayed here for one night and loved it. Spotlessly clean and lovely room and ensuite. Freshly picked flowers in the room and complimentary toiletries. Besutiful location, so peaceful and quiet. Chris is lovely and nothing is too much trouble. Great breakfast too! Highly recommended.

Visited last year for a recouperation trip for my husband who'd just had an operation. Room was spacious and spotless. Lovely breakfast and nothing too much trouble. Bed had the most wonderful topper on it and both slept very well.
