We had the first night booked as a gift from out daughter so decided to extend the stay to make weekend of it and weren't disappointed. We upgraded the stay to the new coach house and stayed in the junior suite No. 43. Wow what a lovely room, away from the main building to avoid any unwanted noise from the...

Stayed at the alverton on the 20th August had a excellent time. Food is good, venue is good, rooms excellent and clean stayed in the new courtyard. Only downside no lift in main building due to grade 2 listed some disabled friends found a little awkward using stairs in main building. But other than that highly recommended.

Dear KARL39, Many thanks for taking the time to review The Alverton. I am delighted that you enjoyed your stay with us this month. Please be assured we do have bedrooms on the ground floor of the hotel, some with larger bathrooms to accommodate wheelchairs too. All the main hotel areas such as the Bar and the Brasserie are on...

I am a local so know the hotel and over recent years have enjoyed it's rise back to the top of the hotels in the area. I have been eagerly awaiting the completion of the new courtyard rooms all year and a few weeks ago I finally got in one! Well done to the architect who sympathetically restored the courtyard...

The hotel is in a lovely, slightly elevated location, grounds not extensive but look great. Main church-like building makes it more interesting than typical modern hotel. Breakfast dining area open, spacious, with a terrace. Staff all smiles, helpful. Noticeable breakfast bits: self service toasting on 3 of Britains slowest toasters; for black pudding lovers, there seems to be rationing in...

Dear philparker2013, Thank you for taking the time to review The Alverton. I'm pleased to read that on the whole your stay was a good one. I am of course disappointed to see that there were a couple of issues. I will pass your feedback onto the kitchen and restaurant team regarding the black pudding portion size and the toaster...

I stayed here recently with my family as a friend was getting married. The room was very nice. We had a deluxe double, which included a separate living room to put a cot (provided) in. It was a little odd as there were no ceiling lights which made the room very dark, but otherwise very nice and recently refurbished (or...

Dear Jay3679, Many thanks for taking the time to review The Alverton. I'm pleased to read that on the whole your stay with us was a good one and I'm delighted to see that you enjoyed the wedding. 3pm is a relatively standard check-in time adopted across the hospitality industry. Check-out is at 11am so this time allows housekeeping to...

There is no doubt that this is a superb venue. A beautiful setting suitable for weddings and large functions. A little on the boring side, very sedate decor which is a little oppresive and depressing. Needs an interior designer to work their magic and bring some life into the place. The staff are the ones that bring this place to...

Stunning accommodation. I stayed in one of the new Courtyard rooms and couldn't have been more impressed. Immaculately clean, spacious and beautifully decorated, great shower, comfortable bed and everything I needed. The bar and dining areas are really lovely. Breakfast was great and service very friendly. Five stars.

The hotel is well located for touring the area but Truro is a disappointing mish- mash of misguided 1960's redevelopment. The dinner menu was varied and the crab linguini and lamb dishes were especially good. Service in the restaurant and at the front desk was excellent. Our room overlooked the lovely courtyard where one could have drinks or just sit...

Easy isn't it to sound so 'cliche'd' when writing reviews, easy to to look just for disappointments, well with The Alverton the former is hard to avoid & the latter hard to find!! A charming & fascinating building, tastefully & thoughtfully decorated, bedrooms (I had a single) very nice, spacious, & (unusually for any hotel) a TV & wi-fi that...
