We are both customer service managers, and travel the world. If you want excellent hospitality, beautiful accommodation i.e. crisp cotton sheets, extremely comfortable large king size bed, home made bread and scones, wonderful full English breakfast locally sourced, and cleanliness beyond compare.........you have found it here.

My wife and I stayed here for inially one night; but extended our stay for another night after the best nights sleep ever! Really luxurious room with amazing walk in shower. We had a private decking area, to sit, eat and enjoy a glass of red, whilst listening to all the wild life. No light pollution, no traffic noise, just... More

We stayed for 4 nights at this wonderful B & B. The room was immaculate with a luxurious bathroom. The breakfasts were excellent. It rained a little while we were there but there is a conservatory to sit in overlooking the garden. We were made to feel incredibly welcome and every detail was looked after. Meryl booked us into the... More

Immaculate rooms. Wonderful breakfasts from extensive menu. We stayed 4 nights in a calm relaxing and refreshing atmosphere. Meryl is a wonderful hostess who ensured a memorable stay. Philleigh is well placed in the Roseland Peninsula enabling easy access to the delights of our favorite part of Cornwall.

We stayed with John and Meryl in June. They were exceptionally welcoming and helpful especially as we were only able to stay one night. Accommodation was of the highest standard and our bed extremely comfortable. The cooked breakfast was superb with home made rolls and locally sourced products. Would make a point to return when next in the area.

We have never really been B&B people but a last minute Cornwall trip, luckily, found all the best hotels full. We came to Gwel An Vala because the website said a) it's a 5* B&B and, b) no kids. John and Merryl are simple the most generous, elegant and generous hosts. They understand the balance between hospitality and warmth balanced... More
