After a long day's walking the warmth and friendliness of the welcome at Walwick Farmhouse was outstanding - even to helping us off with our boots and wet clothes and putting them in the boiler room to dry! We hadn't booked a meal but were asked whether we'd like a meal and at what time. About an hour's notice and...

We arrived in torrential rain to a very warm welcome from Margaret. I don't understand the review of dene2, we must have stayed at a different b and b. This is a traditional farmhouse bed and breakfast. It is spick and span, recently decorated, you only have to look at the paintwork. The room was spotless and the beds the...

We called in purely on chance when we saw the "Vacancies" sign just off the side of the B6318 Military Road as we were passing late afternoon and needed to secure somewhere for the night. Margaret the hostess could not have been more friendly and accommodating. Rooms are not en-suite and no TV in our room but we just wanted...

Pleasant just-right welcome. Not en-suite but no problem as big comfy robe provided and spotless big bathroom next door along. 8/10 meal using local ingredients (10/10 for me would be very rare so 8/10 is excellent). Best of all, after they realised I had forgotten my pack lunch they drove to a part of the wall near a style I...

This would have been a very nice house in the 1930s or so but it does not seem to have been refurbished since then. I stayed here with two friends. None of us was happy with it. The rooms do not have en suite bathrooms and, although the bathrooms are large, you do have to share them with all the...

Wonderful B&B to stop over and meet fellow walkers, food provided was excellent, as long as you have built up an appetite, as portions were huge, wonderful informal atmosphere, congeniality of host made you feel at ease as soon as you walked through the door.

A very warm homely welcoming place, I was loosing the will to live after walking the over the craggs but my angel of the north came to my rescue. the bed was very comfortable. The views from my room were beautiful, your food was wholesome, just what was needed after a long days walk. Thank you for the care you...

We were welcomed out of the pouring rain into a beautiful but warm and cosy farmhouse. A wonderful welcome - towel for the dog, waterproofs taken from us. We had incredible rooms with the most amazing comfortable beds - not polyester pillows here! The bathrooms were not en-suite but who cares - lovely deep baths and fluffy bathrobes. The meal...

We came on the 6th January and we booked the private dining room for eight people. We were welcomed into the b&b with roaring fires and good hospitality . The food was delicious and beautifully presented and the service was fantastic. We will certainly return in future and was pleased to see that Sunday lunches or afternoon teas and coffees...
