We stayed here as a family of 5 over 5th November. They only had a small family room available but over the phone assured us they could make the room comfortable for us. We couldn't have been more delighted with our room which accommodated us very comfortably. All the beds were comfortable and very nicely presented. We had lunch in...

We booked the king size room was a lovely old fashioned quirky room with lots of character, the bed although looked low with a thin mattress was rather comfy, It was clean, well presented, plenty of tea and coffee making stuff available in the room, the only negative i have is other guests didn't seem to be aware that other...

Thankyou for your kind review we do explain on check in and when booking that no dog should be left in a room on its own so this is a surprise to me.This is why we allow dogs in the bar area only and we can offer evening meal and food service in the bar.Im pleased you would visit again...

We had a day planned in Newport but decided we'd prefer to stay in the Forest of Dean and booked this for a couple of nights. Typical country pub, the lodge is on the other side of the car park so an easy hop from one to the other. Our room was smart and clean, everything in working order and...

Hi there very pleased to meet you were so glad you enjoyed the forest of dean and other places you visited. Its always nice to have a chat to our guests sometimes difficult as we always seem so busy working. As it says on a sign on the bar "meet as strangers leave as friends" Always a loively way to...

I stayed at the George and millingbrook on Saturday. We had a lovely stay. Its clearly a very well run family business. Nothing like the below review. Our bed was lovely and comfortable and our room was very clean. We ate in the restaurant and the food was amazing. We sat in the bar and chatted to the landlord in...

Thankyou for your lovely review.A family run business is very different from a chain or corporate place i think attention to detail by the owners speaks volumes, in the end we care so much for what we have currently achieved through hard work. i will pass this review to our staff its always a good vibe with reviews like this....

The Millbrook was truly appalling. The bed was very hollow There was mould all around the window frames The windows run with condensation When I booked they told me the price was £60 per room so I pointed out that it was only £55 on booking.com so they said that they would match that. when I came to pay the...

Thankyou for your not so kind review. Firstly you were spoken to in an appropriate pleasant manner.I explained that under no circumstance do we operate a discounted rate on late rooms not booking.com at £55.00 for double occupancy.I did adjust this with your blessing and You proceeded to tell me that you quite understood as you are in business yourself...

Just happened upon this whilst looking for somewhere to stay en route, we hadn't pre booked but there was no problem. We arrived at 5.30 and checked in at The George, we were given our key to the room which was in a separate stone building outside, the room was clean, modern, comfortable and spacious, the en suite was the...

Just had 4 great nights at this wonderful lodge /pub establishment. It is ideally suited for days out in either the Wye Valley or the Forest of Dean. From the moment we arrived the staff couldn't do enough for us. The initial welcome was so warm and friendly and this became the theme of the stay. Without exception the staff...

We returned to the george for a few days in October and it was fairly disappointing. The room was not cleaned each day and when we arrived we found a drinks bottle under the bedside locker. Could have been a lot cleaner. For some reason the water pressure varied which made it difficult to fill the bath on two days....
