I have just returned after staying last night. We had a wonderful stay, the room was great size, spotlessly clean, comfortable and full of treats and goodies to use. It's very quiet locally so we took wine back to room, and listened to music using the iPod docking station and lazying the night away. Breakfast was delicious with great views...

We received a warm welcome from Martien, who was also the chef for our evening meal. Little did we know at this time that we were going to be treated to one of the best meals we have had. Since we were returning to the area of our honeymoon 40 years earlier that gives a lot of meals under the...

After a hellish journey from the Lake District, it was great to arrive at the Fairfield guest house to relax. I had a spotless and comfortable room, with spare toiletries and excellent shower. The guest bedrooms have a private entrance and small seating area outside which I made use of as it was so warm. This, combined with a friendly...

We stayed for a few days with friends who had been before. Outstanding - the welcome, the food, the comfort in the rooms, the cleanliness and the sheer hospitality of the hosts. Add to this the surrounding beauty of the area and you have it all really!! We would recommend this Guest House to everyone and will certainly be going...

This is a wonderful small guest house in a really peaceful part of the wye valley. Stuart and Martien made us feel really welcome. Local amenities include a shop and pub. Access to all wye valley and Forest of Dean attractions, we particularly enjoyed a day at the international centre for birds of prey. We initially booked to enable easy...

Fairfield, and hosts Stuart and Martien, deserve every one of their 5 stars. Every tiny detail is thought of, and their care for our comfort was amazing - without ever being intrusive. Hard though they worked to make our stay perfect, they managed to be relaxed, warm and welcoming at the same time A lovely setting, and food to match....

We took three rooms for two days for our family outing into the Wye Valley. What a perfect place we found. Everything was just right from the welcome, the rooms and the ambience of the house. Nothing was to much trouble for our hosts and despite the wet weather we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The five star rating is well...

The beauty of the surroundings, the well kept house and garden and of course the unique hospitality and friendliness of Stuart and Martien made us love the place and enjoy our stay. An attitude of attentiveness and caring for details creates an atmosphere of well-being. Martien is a fine cook, too. May the place florish!
