We were only staying in transit to Spain. We wanted an hotel with restaurant, as we have used Campanile before, it ticked all the boxes. Reception was good as were all the staff we encountered, and although the selection was less than before (price pressure?) therr was still enough to satisfy our needs. Breakfast was as remembered and was good. The Bad: The room was not the cleanest we have visited, dust behind the radiators, the doors fitted badly (front & bathroom), the decoration was the poorest we have seen on our many travels, as if done by an amateur. The entire room could do with new paint & skirtings. There was, to our horror, black mould in the shower between the tiles. for the room we would rate at 2 We stopped using a competitor chain of hotels because they were going downhill on room quality & lack of maintenance, we are more than happy to consider other competitors if the trend continues with Campanile…
Typical Campanile hotel. Clean, comfortable, with shower gels, tea and coffee facilities. Its USP is its location - overlooking a beautiful lake with a path round it - 2.5 k - suitable for disabled. Patisserie just up the block! Only complaint - as normal with Campanile - is that in a room with TWO beds, for TWO people, why is there only ever ONE chair. Have to resort to sitting on the bedside table or on the bed.
As usual excellent in a brilliant location great wit the dogs always stop if we are coming back from uk to our spanish home will ne driving up for a few days just to stay here maybe next year superb value
Stayed there for one night while on a business trip. Although it was clean and comfortable, the hotel needs a bit of attention as it was a bit run-down. You can see some maintenance and upgrades are required as the buildings are old. Comparing to the Campanile in Biarritz, this one is definitely not on the same standard. Breakfast however was good with the breads and fruit and yoghurt, would've like something like bacon and eggs as an additional choice as well. Cost was affordable.
This hotel is ideally placed near the lake and is ideal for people coming from or going to Spain. It's a little dated but is in good condition and clean. The check in exp Erie nec was very good and we enjoyed our stay even if just for one night only.
