It's a nice place with too many rules! All too problematic.. It's like a charade, not authentic and natural behavior. Nice location and great surroundings, however not suitable for little children, dangerous on terras and pool. Lady of the house keeps the nice spot at the swimmingpool for herself the whole day with her towels. Towels are not allowed on...

We are always sorry to learn of clients who are not entirely happy because our goal is always to give people a peaceful, enjoyable stay. In this case, we are somewhat less sorry. We advised this guest well in advance of their arrival that the room they selected was not a good choice for a couple with a baby, and...

A lovely Provençale home, private stunning rooms, delicious table d’hotes prepared by Patricia, breathtaking views (especially of a rainbow across Mont Ventoux) – Couldn’t have asked for a better holiday at La Fontaine au Loup.

This was our first time in this region, although we have traveled to Paris and other parts of France multiple times. Our friends arranged our stay at La Fontaine, and we were surprised by the charm, character, ambiance, friendliness and care and concern for our stay. Patricia is a superb hostess and constantly looked for ways to make us more...

La Fontaine au Loup was recommend by friends who are since many years regular visitors (and what a great choice). What a lovely little private place this is, hidden away from the road. The owner Particia gives you such a warm welcome and is the perfect host. Full of wonderful restaurant recommendations. She will send you to places which you...

We stayed in this Bed & Breakfast for 2 nights which provided comfort, good service, and a nice breakfast. The outdoor space is the highlight – plenty on tables and chairs/loungers, a small pool, and beautiful landscaping. It’s set back from the road so you don’t get road noise; just crickets and birds. There are small towns nearby to enjoy...

At Fontaine-au-Loup, our main goal is the comfort and happiness of all our guests. We’re sorry that you weren’t entirely happy but must admit to being a bit confused. You were provided with our most popular room, and there was no one in the adjacent rooms opening on the terrace, which is quite unusual, since those rooms are usually full...

This hotel was charming and very personal and intimate. Service was immediate, and very accomodating. Not only was it set in a beautiful arid landscape, but there were numerous historical sites, tradtional villages, and weekly market fairs within a few minutes of driving. The pool was a great way to refresh during the midday heat. As an American visitor, I...

Service was very good. Owner is very nice and provides a high service. The room is light, clean, and it's got everything you need. There is lots of space to live and eat outside. It is located close to serveral (small) towns. Peacefull and quiet surroundings, with lots of things to do and see if you want.

There are a lot of beautiful places to stay in Provence, and I've stayed in many, but this is my absolute favorite. A little off the usual American tourist route, but close to everything in Provence, La Fontaine au Loup is an oasis of beauty and calm. The rooms are comfortable and the stunning view of Mt Ventoux from the...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
La Fontaine au Loup is a large house built of stone, nestled on a hill surrounded by olive trees, oaks and the vineyards of St Maurice, with a splendid view of the famous Mont Ventoux and ancient Provencal villages perched on the surrounding hills. Our four light-filled and lovely bedrooms open to a terrace with a view of the garden, vineyards and pool. A spacious studio, separate from the house, is suitable for a family of four, and includes a small kitchen and large bath. A beautiful, clear, cool swimming pool, surrounded by cypress trees, rosemary and flowers creates a relaxing space for sunbathing, reading and a nice afternoon nap in the shade of an umbrella. A copious breakfast buffet of homemade confiture, eggs and a variety of breads and pastries from the best boulangerie in region, as well as coffee, tea, juice and cereal, is served in the salon and can be taken to the terrace to eat in the sun or to tables set under the shady oak trees. We are located about 10 minutes from Vaison la Romaine, close to Avignon, close to many Provencal markets, ancient villages, Roman ruins, hiking, biking, and summer festivals of music, theatre and dance. ... more   less
