The overland track is a varied and stunning trail to walk. Cradle Mountain Huts provide the perfect way to do this , the huts, the food and the organisation are all very well done. It was lovely to have a shower each night with the ability to dry off our clothes. We had a

Our Walking Club group thoroughly enjoyed our walk with the Tasmanian walking Company. We are at the ages that we no longer want to walk with a 20kg pack and stay in tents and dorms. I had one of the best holidays I have ever had. All I can say it was worth every cent. I can

My wife came back the same trail after perhaps 10 years and took me along, and we felt disappointed after trying out other hiking trails in Japan, South America, Australia and New Zealand since. Hikers are better informed of the changing weather, details of daily walk,

Hi Alex C Thanks so much for your review – we certainly appreciate your constructive comments. I will pass on your feedback regarding the huts to our Head of Operations. I will also look into the diary powders used. As you can imagine it is not possibly to carry fresh milk along the trail for six days. Our guides do a daily briefing but perhaps they lacked some of the detail you were after. Kind regards,

Firstly the guides make the whole experience, and our 2 were amazing, Conor a "19" YO from Ireland and Lauren a 20 something young lady both were always full of enthusiasm and knowledge. They passed on information as we walked looked after the odd bad knee prepared our meals

Hi there, The guides are really good at allowing for people to walk at their own pace. The group can spread out and generally there will be 1 guide toward the front of the group and 1 toward the back. Sometimes the faster walkers may need to wait for the group to catch up but it generally works itself out without becoming an issue. At lunch stops the lead guide will boil some water for hot drinks etc so people can keep warm. I hope this helps. Cheers,

In our group people walked at different paces but it wasn't a problem - never too long a wait, and besides, the waiting points were usually for a morning or afternoon snack, or lunch, and in a spot that was relaxing and pleasant to be in. The guides generally ensured that one of them was with the front group and the other near the back. Not much dawdling!

Hi Jim, Great idea for a 40th birthday. I think everyone else has answered this for me - average age is generally between 40 - 65, groups do vary though. Cheers, Ros

"No room choice - the tour group members need to decide among themselves who will sleep where"
"all the huts have the same design except the kia ora hut. The right-hand side first room has a spectacular view. pick that room if possible"
"If you walk fast, you can choose your room first!"
