Not a very nice motel to stay in, some of the other guests loud and aggressive at times making stay seem unsafe.

Room was not very clean cobwebs in multiple locations and blankets in cupboard soaked in water.

Maintenance seems wanting in many areas checked in to no towels in rooms had to ask for them and told they are doing washing now and we would get them later!!!

From a tourist point of view I wouldn’t stay in the motel or the area of Youngstown.

Got a great price through Agoda, defiantly worth looking here for a great deal. The motel confirmed the booking via email and also let me know via text and email that reception would be closed when I arrived with instruction on how to get my room key. The room was your standard motel room, table and chairs, small bar fridge, microwave, tea and coffee, small milk, iron and a TV. The queen sized bed was really comfortable but the pillows were a little thin and side for my liking (my preference, not the motels fault) - if you prefer a firmer and think pillow I’d suggest to bring your own as I’m not sure if other pillows would be available at reception. Bathroom area was a little dated and could do with an upgrade but with saying that the shower has great water pressure. The room itself was clean and well maintained. Room wifi is available but there was no password in the room to access this - as I arrived late reception closed so I couldn’t ask (not the motels fault).

My only pet peeve was the parking, I don’t think those staying knew how to park at a motel and had a vehicle parked length way in front of my room and a van doing the same which meant I couldn’t park in front and had to park toward the end of the lot.

Great price for this motel room it had everything you need and it was quite large there’s hairdryers, iron and coffee making facilities and a microwave in the room a small dining table to eat from as well. There is parking right at the door. The rooms could do with a little bit of updating however they were very clean and great value for the money.

I booked a room at the Abel Tasman Airport Motel from their web-site and was charged $145.00 I was told that if I had booked by phone the price would be $65.00. The room stunk of cigarette smoke. There were no bedside lights, and the only light to illuminate the room was fixed to the ceiling but plugged into a power point that was two steps down to a lower level in the room. All other light globes were removed. The bathroom wasn't clean. The light didn't work in the shower and the extractor fan was filthy. Certainly not Covid safe cleaned. I booked to stay there because I was attending a funeral at a venue close by and didn't want to drive home in the dark. The party I was with intended to eat in the Bistro attached to the motel but found out on arrival that it is closed for the winter.

This place was disgusting. The bathrooms had not been cleaned, left over toiletries and soap in the shower, no toilet paper. The floors weren't vacuumed, rubbish left in the draws, no bin to actually put rubbish in if you wanted too. Broken, loose and missing tiles on the bathroom floor. Then a dustpan just left in the corner of the room with the broken tiles. The bathroom sink wasn't cleaned. The bed was so old you had to hold the side of the bed as to not roll onto your partner. The overwhelming stench of old smoke/cigars, and the chairs so old that they come apart when you move them. The manager/owner gives you the run around and lies about having the rooms cleaned. Even old dry faeces in the toilet bowl shows the toilets and bathroom weren't cleaned. Rubbish on the floors, and cigarette butts outside the room shows people have smoked in the room.
I think only linen was put in the bed and that's it. There is a bedside lamp to use, if only you had a power point to plug it into. I know it's a budget hotel, but even budget places don't run the risk of catching a disease from this disgusting room. Will never use wotif again to book a room. Neither the manager of wotif cared about how terrible the room was, and obviously figure they will suck in another person too.
You know its bad when your kids prefer to sleep in the car than in this horrible hotel room. Waste of money. Don't stay here.

Went to book this as close to the airport was advertised at $70 a night but every time I chose to book the price went up till I was charged $92
The website advertised check in till 7pm but we got a message to say self check in from 5pm
Arrived got our key. Supposed to have WiFi but no information on WiFi in room and no one to contact.
TV aerial had bare wire hanging out of it so no TV as well.
Sticky grease on the carpet
Sat on the bed and nearly sank to the floor as no support at all.
Went to turn on one bedside lamp just to find it was for decoration only as nowhere to plug it in
Mould in bathroom
Overall a dirty basic room with zero help from any staff. Obviously only used as a place to stay close to the airport. Do yourself a favour go to a real motel.

I had booked a room for three days stay as it was close to my mothers nursing home to make visiting easier. On entering the rooms carpet was filthy. bathroom and shower showed visible dirt The base of the bed was in tatters with what looked liked material falling away. Cups were dirty and room appeared that it had not cleaned properly. I returned to reception fifteen minutes later and cancelled booking stating the reasons why. Cancellation information on my booking stated if I cancelled or was a no show one nights fee was due. I paid the one nights fee. I arrived home on the 1 July and on the 2 July the hotel debited three nights accommodation to my credit card. I have made phone calls and emails but it has not been addressed.

Absolutely appalling. The single worst motel experience I've had in decades of travel in Australia. Arrived to find no bedding on the beds, pillows missing pillow covers and strewn across the room, garbage overflowing from rubbish bin. The staff did not answer or respond to the after hours phone (despite it only being 9pm when I arrived) and never communicated with me. Fortunately booking.com staff helped me rebook and followed up the refund from motel. Still have had no communication or apology from Abel Tasman. Absolutely disgraceful establishment that you should totally avoid.

I am well traveled and have traveled in some 3rd world countries but I must say that this is the worst hotel that I have ever stayed in.

In reading the past reviews I wasn’t very hopeful of the condition of this hotel.

I tried to check in early, as my work didn’t finish until after hours. Reception hours are 2pm to 5 pm. No one answered the 2 phone numbers that were displayed. I found the reception staff sitting out side what was the restaurant, which is sadly no more and explained the situation to them. They repeated the check in times and didn’t care about my inability to check in between 2-5pm.

Sadly I must confess that they were mostly correct. The odor in the room when I opened the door smelt like someone or something had previously died in there. I wasn’t game to look under the bed. The curtains were only just hanging onto the curtain rail by the last thread of their life. In fact the curtains didn’t even match and one was several inches shorter than the other. The shower curtain was held up by cable ties and couldn’t be moved along the rail anyway. The first time I walked into the toilet I managed to get wet feet, never a good feeling in the toilet.

Upon closer inspection of the plumbing it appears that the toilet has been leaking for some time and the water covers the flooring most of the time. In fact there has been a hole drilled between the wall of the toilet into the adjourning room to allow the drainage of the toilet. The bath at some stage has been hand painted with white paint and not this has semi worn off leaving behind a multi coloured bath of many colours and not very inviting at all. The light in the bathroom didn’t work anyway (perhaps a good thing) I awoke up felling itchy from a very terrible sleep. The towels were clean and fresh and the water was hot.

Other reviews show that the motel has systemic problems. We booked two rooms on the same booking. One had not been cleaned and the linen had not been changed. We received no response after calling the number on the door of reception and via booking.com and so had to find alternative accommodation at short notice and considerable expense. We finally heard back the following morning. Management have refused to give a full refund with the excuse that one of us could have stayed in the clean room. They did not suggest what the other two family members should have done - maybe sleep in the car or the local park. Booking.com completely unhelpful.

Omg how can they take money from people for such a poor standard of accomodation. I would rather sleep on a park bench

Without doubt the worst customer service I have ever dealt with. We were lucky enough, after being refused our room at 8pm with two small toddlers, to find a room at the Country Club Casino. The staff there were unbelievable and could not believe the behaviour of this lady.

Hi Mardi36, We find the most reliable option is the local taxi service, as they come right to the door of your room. We are more than happy to organise for you. The cost is around $24. Please let me know if I can help with anything else. Kind Regards, Cassandra
