We stayed two nights as we were taking part in a cycling event at Bovington. The pub itself is nice and the accommodation clean and well appointed. The staff were really friendly and offered us a packed lunch in lieu of breakfast as we had to leave very early for the cycling. The bed, however, wasn't the most comfortable we...

I stopped by for lunch after seeing a sign on the main road - this small village is tucked away off the beaten track. Well worth a visit as I enjoyed an excellent ploughman's. Attractive surroundings and friendly staff - I suspect this is a popular place for the locals but is worth a visit if you are in the...

Dear David T Thank you for stopping by and for reviewing our lovely pub. Glad to hear the ploughman's was excellent, it is quite a feat to get through. Also that the team gave you a warm Dorset welcome to the Tarrant Valley. We have two TripAdvisor feeds, as a hotel and also as a pub, so you may have...

Idyllic, stunning location, peaceful, quiet and friendly, I could go on. Found this gem purely by taking a chance on the sign on the main road (Blandford Forum to Salisbury A354). Don't let the ford, across the road, put you off, there is an alternative route if it's deep and its well worth it when you arrive. The place is beautiful....

You paint a good picture of the intrepid journey and arriving in the beautiful village of Tarrant Monkton. Great to hear that you loved the food, service and rooms. Feedback noted on the bathroom. Also, that nearly all the food was excellent (despite the...

We've been eating and drinking at the Langton Arms for a while now and think of it as one of Dorset's best kept secrets. It's a little off the beaten track but not unduly so. Hiwever, the time has come the share! I can't speak highly enough of this as both a destination for a great night out, fine dining...

Dear Grogleydog, Wonderful, kind, thoughtful words in a great review. There is not much for us to say other than a very heartfelt thank you for putting it all down in print and letting the world share your Dorset secret! (that is now not quite so well-kept) Best wishes, All at The Langton Arms

We arrived about a quarter of an hour before our booked time but the staff found us a table at once and brought drinks while we studied the menu. So many good things on it, so choosing was hard. Almost all the food was sourced locally. After giving our orders we were treated to a delicious amuse bouche in the...

We had an amazing time at our first visit to the Langton Arms, cannot fault anything. Food was excellent, service superb lucky to be one of only 2 tables but think it would be similar if there were more. The waiter from Johannesburg was wonderful (sorry didn't get name) and the food simply devine best crispy beef we have ever...

My husband and I came for a late lunch with my mother-in-law and two dogs and were welcomed by your cheerful, helpful staff - we had a beer and the dogs had a bowl of water and biscuits. We ordered lunch and were treated to the most delicious amuse-bouche - little cups of tasty soup - we'd so love the...

We booked a table for an Easter lunch for 1pm. We arrived at 12.50pm and the restaurant was packed, it's a popular pub! Service was slow and our food finally arrived at 1.55pm when most other people had left. Only quick bit of the service was bringing the bill and the cash machine - no wait there! Dear DorsetAgaLady Oh dear, it was really busy on Sunday and you were unfortunately (through no fault of your own) our very last table to be served.
