As we read some negative post about this accomodation, here an update about the situation of the park hostel now! We booked a room of 50 RM (type 6 Lodge) and this room was so big and beautiful! It was clean, with 2 comfortable clean beds, free towel, and even a little kitchen inside (with fridge)!! Zero negative point.. I...

I made it a 2-day trip because of my tight agenda. If arrive early in the morning and are in good shape, you would be able to go and knock out one good treck in the morning (I did number 7, and on the way back of 7, number 9 is plausible) arriving at the camp by mid afternoon. Second...

I stayed in the type 5 building, which is the "fanciest." I had planned on staying for three nights, but I left after one night. Although the park itself is beautiful, I found the room to be "difficult." There is no air conditioning, and only two of the four fans seem to be hooked up in every room (I checked...

We stayed at Bako national park for one night because we wanted to do the night walk as well as a long trail from morning til evening. Getting to Bako isn't a problem, the bus from kuching leaves frequently. Bako national park itself is another story and probably worth looking into but staying there? Well you could get lucky I...

I knew what to expect because i've read the reviews on Tripadvisor. House type 6 is indeed old, moldy and dusty. But if you do an overnight in the park you have the opportunity to enter the park at dawn, and come back when the sun goes down. Also you can do a nightwalk for as much as 10 myr....

We stayed just one night in the beautiful Bako National Park. The system of booking a room needs improvement. Our first attempt online was rejected but with some email contact, we were able to secure a private room for just one night (it is a popular place). We were expecting a double/twin room, but found out when paying in the...

The accommodation is extremely basic but you do get what you pay for (RM15 for a 4 bed dorm with fan). There is no hot water and you will be showering with the mosquitos. The food in the canteen is just about edible although a lot of it is cold and stale but it's very cheap. The walks in the...

We stayed overnight & had pre-booked our stay at the Forest Lodge Terrace Type 5. The cost? RM100 (USD26) per night. I have to admit after reading TripAdvisor's poor-mediocre review about the park's overall hostel lodgings, I was a bit apprehensive about what we had gotten ourselves with. After all, the angmoh backpackers have paid such a nominal fee, so...

My husband and I, we went to Bako for a day trip and we regret not being able to stay there over night. We took the red #1 bus to Bako which departs at 7,8,9.. etc am. We took it in the Burger stop (yes, that's the bus stop) next to the River Bank suits in the waterfront. Try to...

Bako NP is a great place! Beautiful nature and active wildlife! The hostel is basic, but all you need. Beds are fine to sleep well and you have a shower to refresh yourself. But when you look for a luxurious hotel, don't go. Do you love nature and can survive with some basics, then go! There are drinks, beers and...
