We took the public bus from Kuching for 5 RM which was enjoyable and entertaining as the bus filled for the last voue of stops with school kids. The boat trip to the island was fairly smooth and allowed for some great photo ops. We had booked a room for 2 nights which is basic. The beds were fine, the...

Then , when you arrive, everyone will get the same advice from the ranger, go to this track!!! (BIG MISTAKE) if you're clever, go to...

This was a great hostel to be able to stay in the park at a very reasonable price. There were only 4 beds in our room! Staying in the park allowed us to see a lot of wildlife at all times of the day. The room cooled off nice at night. It had a shared bathroom and shower. Linens are...

We stayed one night to get the whole experience which nature wise was great. An afternoon welcome by wild boars and early in the morning troops of proboscis monkeys. In between many other animals along the well build tracks and a nice view of the rock formations along the beach. Sleeping in their "luxe garden bungalow" is actually not more...

The hostel beds cost RM15 each and each room has 4 beds equipped with 2 wall fans and a light. Some have mirrors, some don't. The rooms are clean but don't come with blankets and last night it rained heavily and continuously until this morning and it was terribly cold and a lot of us got creative and used the...

Beautiful location in nature with well marked trails and a good night walk with the rangers for only 10RM. The beach is lovely but can't swim due to crocodiles. Cafe is ok, not great veggie options and food mostly sat out for a long time and lukewarm. Dorm room bed is very cheap but smells so bad of bat urine...

Beautiful boat ride to the park. Arriving on the beach. Soon after, we saw proboscis monkeys, wild boars and silver leaf monkeys and a small green viper in a tree. Amazing! Food is very very basic. Not good. The lodges are ok. We had a private lodge, two rooms, two bathrooms and good working fans and AC. All you need....

We are bird watchers and only saw 24 species during our 2 night stay. The big ticket items were the primates and bearded pigs. We were well rewarded. Our accommodation was a Forest Lodge type 6 house no 2. Was great in its time but the tropics have taken its toll... Not complaining, as it was very modestly priced and...

We were two on the Lintang trail - 5.7. km loop and unfortunately with the recent rains the trail was wet and the rocks particularly slippery. I slid and fell using my hands to break my fall and broke my wrist. We were only about 1.7 kms along the trail. Some fellow hikers generously stopped to try to call the...

In Kuching take red bus number 1 from the street next to the food court (yellow fire tower) 3.5 RM. Around one hour to Kampong Bako. Park entry is 20 RM, boat, 20 RM each way, takes 20 minutes. We arrived at low tide so landed on the beach, shoes off and paddled ashore. There is a self-service restaurant with...
