We had the pleasure of staying at Dahlia Guesthouse on our honeymoon. We made the move further up the hill and didn’t move much from the top deck watching the bay from a hammock and basking in the cool and welcomed breeze. As my husband said heaven in a hammock. Such a sanctuary and. Wet special place. Thank you and we will be back!

Best place to stay on the island. This was a wonderful place to stay for many reasons. It was absolutely spotless. The rooms were clean and comfortable with lovely extra touches such as home-made shampoo conditioner and handcream. The beds were big and clean with a bedside light and a fan to keep you cool. There was even a fridge and access to drinking water upstairs. Ellen really has thought of everything. It was a pleasure to come back and relax on the balcony after exploring the village. My son who lives on the island and knows all the places to stay recommended this place because he knew we would love the cleanliness and luxury of staying here. I cannot recommend it enough and I will definitely stay here every time I visit him. Thank you Ellen for your hospitality it was faultless.

We've spent there around a week and it was an unforgettable time. The rooms are very clean and pretty comfy. You got a very modern ventilator, a normal sized bed for two persons and a nice bathroom. One thing that is maybe worth to mention is that there is only cold water, but this isn't really an issue because it is really hot there and a cold shower is just what you need after an adventurous day on the island. Beside the nice rooms you can use the open balcony (with a cute gecko) or the area downstairs to chill or whatever you want. The host, Sharon, is very friendly and warmhearted. She has two dogs and a really cute cat. We really enjoyed our stay here and want to come back in some years.

Where do I even start? We had a wonderful stay at Dahlia’s thanks to the host & owner Sharon. If you want to stay at a place that feels like home, this is it. Sharon is a young entrepreneur who has opened this lovely guesthouse offering an extremely clean and simple, yet very comfortable stay. The place has fantastic ambiance and the decoration is just lovely and inviting! We stayed in 3 different places in M’pai Bay and note that only very few places offer private rooms with bathroom without breaking the bank! I can confidently confirm this is the best option on the Island. To top it up, Sharon is really a fantastic host. We got great suggestions on restaurants and she also helped us book a private boat trip to see other beaches - which I absolutely recommend btw! We requested tor a mosquito net which was quickly provided, looking brand new and very clean. She is also trying her best to be green, so you can recycle any plastic waste and fill up your water bottle for free. We can’t recommend this guesthouse enough! @Sharon, waiting to now hosting you in our home in Bristol one day and best of luck in your projects! :) Just a few side notes on the room/island itself - this guesthouse, like many, doesnt offer AC, just a fan room which we happily managed just for a few days. There is only cold water showers (again, like the rest of the island) but you will come to love these by end of day 1! Bring your own toilet paper if you need it or you can buy it in local stores.

M’Pai village is great and DAHLIA was the perfect place for us for our 7 day stay. The rooms are very nicely decorated (and clean of course), the bar serves the best gin & tonics ever, the location is great - 5 min walk to the beach - and Sharon is just an amazing host. We were very sad to leave but will definitely be back some day! ❤️ Caroline & Louise

Had an amazing stay in Dahlia with Sharon and Lisa. The eye for detail and great hospitality is what makes her different than the others. She goes the extra mile and it really feels homey. Cute rooms, new and nicely decorated. She makes sure you have a warm welcome and she is there to answer and help with any questions. Also the gin bar is great, wide variety of gins and a nice vibe. I will definitely come back!

We stayed for 2 nights at Dahlia’s and had an amazing time. Sharon is really friendly and her pets are really cute. The room is small but cozy, with a nice bed and your own bathroom! Besides Sharon put much love and energy in the decorations of the rooms, so it really feels like home. She can also give you some tips what to do around the Island. Also don’t forget to try a delicious gin-tonic here! We definitely will come back!

Had a great stay at DAHLIA Guesthouse & Gin Bar! Unfortunately i was there for only 1 night... As a backpacker, I really enjoyed having a private room + bathroom in between all the hostels, and also for a great price! The guesthouse is very clean and nicely decorated! The beds are very comfy and the wall paintings and the scented sticks give a nice extra touch. Also, the 2 dogs and cat are super lovely! Thanks for everything Sharon!!

Absolutely loved my stay at this guest house. Sharon’s service was perfect from start to finish & even made the effort to check up on us to see if we got to our next destination okay. The hotel was great and ticked all the boxes for us, it had a cozy, home away from home feel to it and an amazing view of the sea. Sharon has gone to the effort to make cute little finishing touches to the rooms such as eye masks, ear plugs, tissues etc. And making a little welcome sign. Unfortunately we had some bad weather on the island but Sharon made sure we were never bored, she had a TV available, board games and very cute pets. And offered us her personal warm shower!! I would definitely recommend to try one of the many gins on offer and have a chat with Sharon as she can give some personal recommendations on where to go on the island.

Thank you so much for your recommendation! I'm very glad that you've enjoyed your stay at Dahlia, and felt at home here! Hopefully one day, you guys can come back to the island for that tan or birthday celebration when the sun is out here (maybe on your way back from your world trip ;-) ). Safe travels, wish you the best (and good weather haha).

We stayed 3 nights at the guesthouse. Sharon, the owner, really helped us in getting from the airport to the guesthouse by giving tips on transportation and how to get around in Sihanoukville. When we arrived at the island she was waiting for us at the pier and took us to Dahlia. It was a really warm welcome! Dahlia is situated on a hill not even 5 minutes walk from the pier (so also from the beach!). The guesthouse has a beautiful view over the sea. At the ground level there is a gin bar where she serves over 40 gins. The decoration is really well done. Upstairs there are 6 bedrooms and we got the ‘Tulip’ room. There was a welcome sign with our names on the door with our names. The room was amazing! It is, in my opinion the best place I have stayed in Asia so far! There were some amenities such as soaps, earplugs and a sleeping mask. We had our private bathroom with cold water, however if you would like to have a hot shower Sharon offered every guest to shower in her private bathroom which has a hot shower (which was super clean). The beds and sheets were super clean and there was a fan in the room, which made the room nice and cool when we were there. Upstairs, there is a tv area and a balcony with the most amazing view where you can read a book or have an amazing gin and tonic. Unfortunately, we had really bad weather when we were on the island, nevertheless Sharon made sure that we didn’t get bored. We played games, walked the dogs and visited other great spots on the island such as Clear water bay. The village itself is small but has so many hidden treasures so definitely worth the visit and is a complete oasis compared to Sihanoukville.

Hopefully I can welcome you and Lotte again in the near future and we can try out some other gins downstairs :). Safe travels!
