Guest rooms are on the first floor up an outside staircase. Meals served on terrace on this floor. Can be a bit windy! Excellent meals and friendly staff. Smallish room but adequate. Very little hanging space and no drawers. Par for the course in Cuba! Shower not great. Handheld but does the job.

This was a low point in our trip to Cuba. The room stank, the smell from the drain in the bathroom was unbearable. The air conditioning was broken and we were told we would have to stay in a relatives house behind but could only take nightwear. The food was poor and we were charged three times more than any...

Pls note that this hostel is now known as Casa Hostal Neuva Vida (new life) - and this is exactly what it has. The hosts, Alejandro and his mum, and the rest of the staff do everything they can to make you feel at home. Alejandro is a man of the sea and had caught a Cuban Snapper the previous...

The time spent at Hostal Mayito was the highlight of our 2-week trip to Cuba. The entire team - Mayito, Noraida, Alejandro, Damita, Genady - were great and the hospitality they showed us exceeded all expectations. Noraida is a great host - she gave us a warm welcome and made us feel at home from the minute we arrived. Damita's...

We did not know about this place but were taken there for a lunch stop by our guide on our way from Vinales to Trinidad. Lunch was served on a shaded first floor terrace where we could enjoy the view of the bay over the roofs of the adjoining row of houses separating it from the playa. We were served...

We spent three nights at Hostal Mayito and had all of our meals here. The owners and staff were wonderful. The rooms were clean, quiet and comfortable. The meals were delicious. The 4 rooms are all on the second floor, with the meals served on the covered deck of the same floor. Rooms #2 and #3 open right onto the...

We were expecting a room with an 'independent entrance and terrace',however these were shared and I think we were given the wrong room. However the breakfast was excellent as was the evening meal we had there. It is only a short walk to the beach and Playa Larga is a quiet sleepy little place .Very nearby is a National Park...

If you wish to visit Playa Larga, look no further for a place to stay. Playa Larga offers comfortable and quiet rooms on the second floor of their house with a large outside dining area. The rooftop deck has hammocks and tables/chairs, great for sunset viewing. Danita cooks absolutely fabulous breakfasts and dinners at a very reasonable price! We ate...

A warm welcome from very helpful hosts. Nothing was too much trouble. Room spotlessly clean and cleaned daily, with fresh towels supplied. Beach towels also provided. Room was quiet and dark at night. Wonderful food with some nice touches - eg pancakes with a welcome message! Trips arranged with expert guides at reasonable prices.. Overall - highly recommended
