My first bad review on trip advisor. After i asked what was in the curry because i have food allergy, the women refused to serve us. "The kitchen is too far" she said. I had all sorts of adventure asking that but it never was that rude.

Had a lovely stay at Nikki's when in Cuyo! The owner was incredibly friendly and cooks the best sinigang I've ever had. In fact, all the food was amazing and the fish was so fresh I think it must have come straight out of the ocean in front of the hotel. The rooms are simple but clean, and the location is wonderful- right on the water near the market. There is a little street noise at night because of this, but it didn't bother me. I heard from many locals that there is an American who owns another hotel on the island and writes negative Trip Advisor reviews to steer people towards his place (and who also doesn't allow Filipinos near his property). As a fellow American, this dismays me as it sometimes seems like the worst of my countrymen find their way to beautiful places like Cuyo. I wanted to write a positive review to thank the staff of Nikkis for a wonderful stay, and encourage other tourists to check it out for a truly authentic stay in Cuyo.

I had read many negative reports about Nikki's Pension but thought we would look at the place anyway. They are building an extension with really nice rooms facing the sea, but they also have older rooms at a reasonable price. we were considering staying here but the owner asked his wife how much the new rooms were, which seemed odd to us as he would know the price. He really was not very helpful when we asked about renting motorbikes, and would only give us information of we stayed there. There is also a karaoke bar nearby which put us off, so we found somewhere else to stay.

stay away! the rooms are small and full of cockroaches that go out off the old sewer system (that stinks terribly btw), the surrounding streets are very loud and last but not least the owner is very unfriendly. she is a greedy and rude person that is only happy when you bring the money. as many other people on tripadvisor said she likes the money, but not the tourists. also, avoid the food there. I got badly poisoned by their curry chicken, which was not well cooked and was not able to eat during two days. when i complained that the chicken was raw she said publically that I had stomachache because of menstruating (not true), which I find very rude and out of place and also that "the chicken is only 100 php", so once again: she cares only about the money and not about the tourists.
