A group of us (16 ladies) recently booked Salt 1 and Salt 2 for the weekend. Both properties are beautifully appointed and the location is great, but there were some minor maintenance issues which were not expected considering the high tariff paid. Salt 2 definitely the better of the two, but the view from Salt 1 is exceptional.

We stayed here overnight as a large group, hiring both Salt one and Salt Two. They have thought of everything! The most well equiped kitchen I have ever seen in holiday accommodation. Positioned on a busy road right opposite the glorious beach, there is some road noise and the delightful sound of gentle crashing waves. The acoustics aren't great but that is probably the case in any house with gorgeous high ceilings and wooden floors. A bonus to find it had a coffee machine and half a dozen local beers on both levels to enjoy. We will definitely be back!

We recently had a family weekend in Salt One. All the social media photos portray an amazing property but unfortunately that’s where it stops. We too found the property to be extremely noisy. The downstairs guests were up talking one night until 2.30am, and as the back 2 bedrooms of Salt One are positioned directly above the noise travelled straight up. Then you have the traffic noise, which was very unpleasant. Salt One is positioned directly onto a main road with a constant flow of traffic....not just cars but also trucks and motorbike groups. I think this house would be much better in winter when you are happy to have all windows and doors closed to escape the noise. I would definitely avoid the busy summer months. This property is priced as an exclusive, private beachfront house but falls far short.

We have stayed in Salt 1 previously and absolutely loved the accommodation, facilities and had a great family break. We were therefore equally excited about experiencing Salt 2. For those that are not familiar with the layout, the avatar pic for Salt at Shoal Bay is the window of Salt one, which is located immediately above Salt 2.

Upon arrival, the grounds were well maintained, clean, with off street parking available. There were a couple of very minor maintenance items that we reported (living space light bulb not working, loose front door handle etc) but nothing that adversely affect your stay.

The internal accommodation was beautifully arranged, comfortable beds, large shower rooms and bath. A separate TV room was also provided that was great for kids to be away from the adults for a bit of 'quiet' time.

The only downside, is that you are at the mercy of those that are renting the property (Salt 1) above you! Unfortunately during our stay, it would appear there was a heard of small elephants that took particular pride in running up and down the full length hall of the upper apartment. Not really an issue in the afternoon and early evening, but particularly annoying at 05:30am in the morning and late into the evening.

Would we go back to Salt …. definitely! Would we go back to Salt 2 … Probably not.

Specatulcar views, a stone's throw from the beach, short walking distance to shops and great restaurants. We were lucky enough to visit when the weather was amazing and we had a full moon eclipse. There were 11 adults and 10 children and we had loads of space with all three houses - Salt One, Salt Two, Salt Three.
