If you want to escape for a couple of days then Marramarra Lodge is the perfect place to go! Limited to just 28 guests, it’s quiet and peaceful with a very luxurious feel.

It is located on the Hawkesbury river with stunning panoramic views. Their boat will pick you up and drop you off meaning you can get sit back while you take in the scenery and unwind.

The accommodation is absolutely amazing. It’s very modern and stylish making your stay very comfortable. There is plenty to do and see from relaxing by the pool, getting a massage to exploring the oyster farms on a private tour.

The food is all included and it is to die for! The menu changes daily with breakfast made to order, a two course lunch and a five course degustation menu with paired wines. You also get access to the drinks when ever you want a top up!

I am glad we stumbled upon Marramarra Lodge and will definitely be returning again!

I can’t recommend this place enough!! You will not be disappointed if you love food and luxury!

Perfect setting on the Hawksbury River and beautifully appointed rooms both of which are nothing without the fantastic lodge staff. Friendly, helpful, thoughtful and knowledgeable about the lodge and the area in which they are located. The food was impeccable each night a 5-6 course degustation with matching wines as an option, we chose a bottle from their extensive list instead. As soon as you sat down for breakfast there was a plate of fresh fruit and pastries set down in front of you and the offer of coffee from Guerrilla Roasters (NSW south coast).
We did the oyster farm tour - massive thanks to Sheridan the farmer who took us out for the morning, her energy for what she does cannot be ignored, we loved her innovation. Backed up to the Pearl farm tour (Broken Bay Pearl Farm) which was interesting - and basically another excuse to get out onto the water on a spectacular day. The swap over between the tours could be better planned as it didn't leave time to enjoy the picnic lunch the lodge had thoughtfully packed for us. We stayed in a bungalow (room 11) which was spacious and well laid out. The bathroom was thoughtfully organised with space on the vanity and enough hooks and towel racks.

Our stay at Marramarra Lodge was an exquisite and flawless delight from the moment our boat transfer collected us from Deerubben Boat Ramp, until we were returned there at the end of our stay.

The location of the Lodge is simply stunning, the bungalows are spacious, light, and beautifully appointed with wonderful direct views of the river, the service is exceptionally professional yet relaxed and personable, and every single meal was an utterly delicious and memorable experience, with chef Jerome delivering an implausibly consistent gourmet experience that stays with you long after your stay.

Marramarra Lodge was undoubtedly one of the most amazing experiences we ever had and we cannot recommend it highly enough.

And did I mention that all this is literally less than an hour away from Sydney?!

Who would have thought that only 40 minutes up the M1 on your way to the Central Coast that we would have a hidden gem like Marramarra Lodge in our backyard. From the time you walk on to the boat ramp for your transfer to the Lodge you know you are in for something special.
Aaron was our skipper who took care of our luggage which was delivered directly to our room on arrival. Aaron provided great insight into the history of the river on our way to the lodge.
We were greeted by Kaley who gave a run down of the Lodge facilities as we walked to the reception. Kaley was very helpful with accommodating to move our Spa times around to meet our needs.
You get to check in early and we were in our room by 10.30am. Nic and Pip are the wonderful host of Marramarra Lodge and nothing is too much trouble.
You want for nothing Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner is all included as well as all the alcohol you can drink.
Dinner on both nights was both delicious, spectacular and different each night. French inspired and the chef was even on hand the second night to serve our table. Breakfast was healthy and tasty.
Included in our package was a sunset cruise with oysters and champagned served, We also had a tour of the local Pearl Farm which was an amazing experience with the team at Marramarra Lodge packing a picnic lunch to enjoy.
However, what makes this a fantastic memory is the staff who are absolute rock stars. Nothing is too much trouble. I want to call out Romina, Mel, Brooke and Kaley who made our anniversary weekend a special one.
If you are looking to be spoilt or celebrate a special moment Marramarra Lodge is the place you must put on your bucket list

This place is amazing. It’s like having a holiday home but with a French Chef making you world class dishes and fabulously friendly staff who are eager to make life even better.

40 minutes drive from Sydney followed by a short guided boat tour/transfer down the Hawkesbury and you are are at the lodge with champagne filled glass in hand.

Be it uber luxury tent or equally beautifully appointed bungalows, you wake up to sparkling water views across the river.

Shona the GM is simply fabulous and goes that extra mile to ensure your stay is top notch. With her open door policy, hands on approach and friendly staff those that ask, get.

If stuffy faultless service is your thing, or you prefer to think of a degustation as Mylanta tablet after too much stodge, Marramarra will not be your cup of Earl Grey.

Once you get to Marramarra all that is required of you is that you relax and ask for anything that may be missing. Despite being a stress head even I managed this.

We have been lucky enough to stay in a number of Australia’s luxury lodges and welcome this new kid on the block, located a stone’s throw from Sydney. In fact we welcome it so much we are booked to come back in two weeks time.

We had to put off our booked trip to Marramarra a couple of times due to unforeseen circumstances and they were so accommodating and lovely in the correspondence to rebook when we were ready! We finally got there for a weekend in July with the rain coming along for the trip! It was easy to park at the boat pickup area and easy to see which boat was there to pick us up with Marramarra written on the side! It was a pleasant ride over to the lodge with some commentary given to us on the areas that we passed that was interesting. When we arrived at the lodge we were shown around and given information about the facilities, etc but also advised that it was all written down in the room if you needed to check dinner times, etc. This was all mentioned while we sipped on our welcome drink of bubbles! Our Peninsula tent was great with a beautiful view over the tree canopy and the river below and everything you needed in the room plus more! The fridge was full of alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks and a drawer with snacks. We enjoyed a number of meals over the two nights we were there and they were all divine! The meals were a huge part of the enjoyment of our stay. We were offered matching wines during dinner and you were also welcome to take a bottle of wine back to your room if you wanted to. We had a great weekend even though the rain hindered us looking around a bit, we still enjoyed the pool table, a few short walks, the afternoon champagne and oysters cruise, a facial and massage. Could it get any better for a relaxing weekend away?

The team at Marramarra Lodge are very happy that you enjoyed your stay with us. Despite being delayed and rainy, it sounds like you made the most of your time for a great relaxing weekend away in our beautiful Peninsula Tent overlooking the Hawkesbury River. The 'wining and dining' is very much a significant part of a Lodge stay and we love that you enjoyed your experience here. We hope to welcome you again.

"A adult only haven" from the begin of your private boat pick-up to your arrival at Marramarra lodge you felt like you were the only ones on the island besides your personal staff It felt so exclusive. There was six other couple staying at the same time as my husband & myself but again you felt like it was you and you only so quiet and peaceful.

The staff was outstanding & nothing was a bother. Jason made us feel like he was our own personal butler it was just beautiful and he made our stay very special for us.

We had two nights & three days all-inclusive package, which was idea. From the time you stepped onto the boat you didn't need cash everything was at your fingertips from champagne on arrival to the outstanding lunches, gourmet breakfast.
The main meal at night was a five-course elegant degustation meal paired with local wines, seasonality & local produce. Created by the French chef Jerome Tremoulet just to die for absolutely superb. The menu changed daily therefore every day was a new food journey.

We stayed in a private bungalows each bungalow had it own balcony overlooking the Hawkesbury river amazing views.
They also have private tents " Glamming" The next time & there will be a next time we will stay in the tents for a new & exciting experience. They look and feel like you are in Africa out in the wild but you are amongst the gum trees in Australia so surreal with own wildlife.

Included in our package was a 60 minute Marramarra Signature Aromatherapy Massage at Lyora day spa, We came away from our message feeling revitalized. We felt so relaxed that we decided to have a cool glass of wine with a cheese platter, which Jason organized for us at the poolside overlooking the Hawkesbury River.

Marramarra lodge has a river cruise on the Hawkesbury just as the sun is setting! While you are cruising up the beautiful Hawkesbury drinking champagne and eating succulent oysters you have amazing views of life on the river. This was also included in our package just amazing.

We had a private tour to Broken Bay Pearl farm on the Hawkesbury where the world's rarest and most valuable Akoya pearls are farmed, we traveled by boat, to the jetty and away we went for a two hours tour on how pearls are farmed then made into beautiful jewelry fascinating! have a new respect on how pearls are priced.

At Marramarra lodge has complimentary kayaks; canoes, SUP boards and fishing rods they are all made available for guest use. A walking tour to historic, cultural and significant wilderness sites are available; we participated in this walking tour very informative.

If you like to be away from it all then Marramarra lodge is definitely the place for you, you can do as little as you like or participate in everything that is on offer amazing value for money.

Marramarra Lodge is so close from Sydney yet feels so far away. Departure is perfectly coordinated and departs on a private boat by very skilled staff. You are greeted to the island lodge and immediately know it's going to be a relaxing and comfortably stay. Pip, Nick and the staff are fantastic and always made us feel welcome and attended to every need. We stayed in the tent which is more of a luxury eco tent with all the amenities included which includes a fully stocked minibar and fridge. There are plenty of activities if you prefer to be active including kayaking, bushwalks and hiking and plenty of relaxing spots for a more peaceful and lazy stay including a great massage at the spa. Food was great and the staff were very attentive to our requests (wife was pregnant and therefore had food restrictions). Degustation dinners nightly with paired wines (not for wife unfortunately) were delectable. A perfect place to unwind, rejuvenate and escape the city rush!

From the great reviews for Marramarra Lodge we had high expectations for our stay there and we were not disappointed. Marramarra smashed these expectations, providing the highest quality service, food, drinks and accommodation from beginning to end.

We were greeted with drinks as soon as we arrived and the luxury continued from there. All the staff were great and willing to go above and beyond to make sure our stay was perfect.

Our tent was lovely with stunning views of the river. The food was great quality and well thought out. We like to think of ourselves as ‘foodies’ and have dined at some of the top restaurants in Australia and the UK, yet the degustation dinner on Friday was one of the best meals we have had. The menu was perfectly balanced and paired with some excellent wines. The faultless service topped off the meal.

There were so many spots to chill out and our massages were the perfect addition to a relaxing weekend. There were different activities and highlights were the champagne sunset cruise and heading out for some fishing where to our delight we were taken out just the two of us in a boat with Chris to enjoy an hour or so of fishing and great conversation. Thank you Chris, we really enjoyed that. This type of personal touch is consistent throughout the experience at Marramarra lodge and is a real differentiator. Truly 5 star service in all departments.

Could not fault one thing from our stay, Shona and the team show a dedication to providing top service. Thank you for the perfect escape from the city and we will definitely be back!

Dear Beckie, Thank you so much for the kind words! It's lovely to hear for a new property such as ours, that the experiences we are constantly working on are hitting the right notes! Marramarra is the Dharug word for 'Many Fish' so our fishing charters are usually great fun and Chef Paul is more than happy to incorporate your daily catch into your evening's degustation menu as well. I look forward to welcoming you both back and invite you to contact me directly so we may look after you, as we did on this occasion at Marramarra Lodge. Warm regards, Shona Philps General Manager

My partner and I had the most amazing weekend at Marramarra Lodge. From the moment we stepped onto the boat that took us to the resort, we felt welcomed and looked after. Arriving at the actual lodge, we were blown away by the peaceful, picturesque surroundings, and the kindness of all the staff - we’ve never experienced such wonderful hospitality.

The food was some of the best we’ve ever had. Each meal was delicious, fresh, and creative - breakfast, lunch and dinner! The lovely chef Jerome made sure to come out and introduce himself, and the waitstaff were so professional and friendly.

We stayed in a Peninsula Tent and our room was beautiful, comfortable, and impeccably clean. It’s the perfect hybrid of tent and luxury cabin, with canvas walls that allow you to hear the relaxing sounds of nature, a deck lay on and to watch the river go by, and a stunning bathroom and shower that looks out onto the river too. Just being able to unwind in the room was a highlight for us (and my partner was obsessed with the couch!)

I proposed to my partner while we were there and the team made it extra special with a bottle of champagne and a personalised congratulations card delivered to our room. Lodge Managers Pip and Nick, and the rest of the team, all went out of their way to congratulate us, which was so lovely.

We got to relish in a luxury lifestyle for a couple of days and we both loved every minute. I honestly can’t fault Marramarra at all. If you’re thinking about staying here, stop thinking and start booking - you won’t regret it!
