CITI Hotel Hilongos National Highway Hilongos 6542 Leyte Recommendation = There IS NO Wi-Fi! They sent a man & a women to my room AND NO connection that they could fix. I GAVE up & put the DO NOT DISTURB on outside my door. I stayed 1 (one) night. I’m going to Padre Burgos for the next seven two days. The room has; telephone, mini-fridge stuffed with expensive (Not me buying), TV with a USB plug (that I did NOT use. There IS NO way to use the USB; there is media BUT NO up & down button or enter), the TV has 6 channels with 5 very fuzzy channels, 1 channel has ESPN that IS not so clear, I did NOT watch much TV, like 5 minutes. The room also has; hot-water boiler with 2 coffee packets, & Wi-Fi that I did NOT use (ALL the Days). The bathroom has; 1 soap, 2 toothbrushes with 1 toothpaste, 2 large & medium towels. There is NO free breakfast BUT you can pay for one if you like. By the way there is NO internet in the room BUT they have a free computer in the restaurant. I booked for seven days in Padre Burgos, they let me leave after 2 days & I stayed again at CITI Hotel Hilongos. SOLUTION Equals UPGRADE the Internet!!!!!!!! I want to use the internet/Wi-Fi in my room NOT in the restaurant OR reception! I want to use it while listening to music & podcasts of MY own kind. Let’s PRETEND; EVERYONE (ALL Customers) IS on the internet (Wi-Fi). Let’s PRETEND; EVERYONE it’s a holiday; ALL people including the crew are ON the internet. Then let’s make the internet (Wi-Fi) for ALL to use!…

Nice room... better than expected... had a nice sleep and a decent breakfast which was served in a prompt manner. Hotel was noisy because of children playing in hallway... but when I closed my door much of the noise was lessened... so hotel has good insulation between rooms and hall.

The Citi Hotel has six rooms but is building an addition next door that will bring it up to 26 rooms, although the increase will not occur for two years. The hotel is on the highway, attached to a Shell petrol station, so there is some noise until about 2300 at night, and further noise - not too bad - from karaoke played in the rooftop restaurant until midnight (although the volume is reduced from 2200 hours.) The hotel lacks a lift but has a breakfast area on the ground floor. I asked one morning for the 'healthy tropical brekky' to be informed that it was unavailable. The room is of very solid construction and had effective, almost noiseless aircon that was a welcome relief. It was pleasantly decorated with (for instance) masks from either the Bacolod fiesta or similar, adding a nice touch. The ceiling was a classy wood so the German owner (Erlinda) who spends three of every six months in Hilongos seems to have good taste. The bedroom of my standard room (P2250 a night excluding brekky) was very large and had a comfortable Queen bed with good linen but only a strange half size doona on top - no top sheet. The pillows were rubber and too hard, but I still slept OK. There was a good sized desk and chair in the room, a shelf for luggage storage and access and a separate square table with two good chairs. There was one bedside table and downlights providing quite good light, plus a mirror. Two bottles of water were gratis. The fridge worked well but the safety deposit box was not the optimum 'El' design and hence challenging to operate. There was a wardrobe and shelves plus an extensive room service menu with lengthy descriptions of the food, clearly written by a Caucasian by its tone. Two toothbrushes, soap and shampoo were provided. The curtains were not fully 'blackout' style but they were nonetheless acceptable. The exterior windows needed a wash. The bathroom was elongated. The glass door into the shower opened inward: as the latter was not large, bigger gents or ladies could find it a struggle to get in or out. I could only get the water to reach 'tepid' but in the tropics this is OK. The towels were OK. The bathroom had a good mirror but lighting over it was not great. There did not appear to be a hairdryer. Internet access via WiFi (or any other way) was unavailable. It was fairly easy to get a tricycle into Hilongos for what should be P15. I was charged P50 to the port. Staff including Geraldine were fine. I will do a separate review for the Citi restaurant once it is placed on the TA database. Both downstairs and the upstairs restaurant sold snacks and drinks. I had arrived by V-Hire from Tacloban that took three and a quarter hours for a P200 one way fare. For comfort, reserve the front two seats next to the driver (P400 total: Duptours) as the second and further back rows in these 'Coasters' or similar have insufficient legroom. I departed on the 1100 daily Roble Shipping Hilongos - Cebu City ferry that took four and a half hours instead of the advertised five and for which the economy class fare was P255 one way or aircon tourist class P320. Overall this was a great standard hotel for 'the province' although it is 1.8 kilometres from Hilongos' centre.…

My wife and I recently stayed here for a week while we were back in Brg. San Juan for the funeral of my Wife's mother. The room we stayed in was very nice and western. The bed was a queen sized and firm but comfortable. The room was good sized and had a table and nice TV. Note, there is no cable TV just local stations. The bathroom was nice sized and the shower large. Nice counter space and hot water. The staff are great and very responsive. The only things I want to point out are that all the hotel is adjoined to a gas station. You will have traffic until late at night. All the rooms are in the road side of the property. There is also a major road out there, so you have these noises as well. Nothing the hotel can do about this but wanted everyone to aware. There is also a karaoke lounge on the roof so this has a little noise as well. All and all, I really like this hotel. We were gone most days and back late at night so there were no noise issues. During the day it is noisy. No pool by the way. …

My family and I recently stayed at this hotel. Searched for it online and went there without a reservation. Luckily, they had rooms available Though we only had a short stay, the hotel had all the basic amenities to offer. Clean and modern hotel, spacious room, a bed, airconditioning, hot and cold shower, tasty food from their restaurant, courteous staff and good location. However, I have to be honest. It was a bit pricey (if compared to hotels in Cebu). They don't serve free breakfast, too bad coz their food was really good. Their television only had local channels, so TV won't help with boredom at all when you are stuck in your room all day. The hotel's wifi hotspot was also unavailable that time, talk about luck. And the extra bed we got only looked comfortable, but it really was not. It gave my cousin a back ache. But with all things set aside, Citihotel was a good hotel. The only hotel in Hilongos that's worth the buck. We will definitely stay here again (hopefully with Internet next time? Lol).…

The place is clean and cozy. The place allows sunshine in and provides basic services of a hotel such as shower heater. I also feel that the owners really pondered on how their hotel would look and feel. Names of the rooms are festivals like Sinulog. The people and staff are also warm and hospitable. I see that the place is the best place to stay around the area.

We arrived extremely early in the morning without reservations. We needed two rooms and they were available. Beautiful creative hotel, wonderful staff, hospitable owners, good food and overall clean and tidy, love the decor. Just be in fairly good shape and have the ability to climb stairs! Good cardio work out not for the weak . Great experience

This is a first class hotel, great rooms, mini-bar, large room, modern walk-in shower. It is expensive - at least as far as provincial hotels go - and I am a budget traveler. Great if you have your own transportation, but is located 2 km from the town, all jeepneys and motor-cabs were full and we had a long wait to find an empty motor cab. We chose this hotel because it is the listed by booking agencies, but we found four pensions with rates in the 700-800 range and we moved to another hotel [3-J's]. We were the only guests at this hotel, the pensions were full. WARNING - if you book Citi for more than one night, but leave after only 1 night, then the hotel reports you as a no-show to get another night charged to you credit card.
