We have today returned from a 2 night stay here for my birthday weekend with friends. Everything I had hoped it would be, it was. And more. John and Annie were brilliant! Friendly, amusing, knowledgable and just generally wonderful hosts. The food is amazing. John cooks you a breakfast that more than prepares you for the days walking ahead and...

Jon and Annie are devine hosts. As a guest at Hafod y garreg it is more like being a private house guest than a paying guest at a B&B. As hosts they make you feel totally relaxed and at home. There is no daily room service but that affords a degree of privacy and relaxation, I personally always feel the...

We stayed for two nights and loved our short break there. Being able to stay in the oldest house in Wales was a treat in itself, but on top of this, John and Annie were warm and friendly hosts full of helpful advice about local places to visit. Thanks to John mentioning the magnificent Drovers Road to Cardigan Bay, we...

This is definitely different from most B&Bs. The decanter of sherry in the room and a glass of wine before dinner and the offer of tea on arrival and when returning from a day out are all very welcome and hospitable touches. The owners are very sociable and appear to want to talk about the history of their house but...

I went here with my girlfriend for three nights, and thought it was fantastic. The hosts are extremely warm and friendly. The room was very comfortably furnished, with a very well appointed bathroom. The food (breakfast, and dinner on request) was of a really high quality. The setting is exceptional: this is a lovely part of Wales, with great access...

Having found theB&B on on line and seen the pictures I still cannot get over how quaint and romantic the cottage is. Anyone staying there will be charmed by the beautiful location and feeling of history and character from the 1402 year house. Annie and John made us feel very welcome, we opted for the 3 course dinner cooked by...

I stayed here once again in July 4 nights, receiving a warm and hospitable welcome, and truly comfortable stay. This is not home from home - this is being treated as an honoured and valued guest in a facinating, beautifully, authentically and comfortably furnished piece of Welsh history. Fabulous food, unbelievable location. And owners Annie and John are the icing...

Now I have to say, this b&b may not be everyone's cup of tea. But if you want something out of the ordinary with both property, decor, surroundings and hosts then this is for you. The house, or at least bits of it, is the oldest identified dwelling in Wales - dating from 1401 (tree rings do not lie). The...

This B&B is quite special. It is tucked away on a hillside, a stones throw from a babbling brook and an unusual landscape of ancient trees and slate hillsides. The room we stay in was beautifully presented and comfortable. There were lovely touches, such as fluffy White Company dressing gowns and decanted sherry to make us feel welcome and special....
