I am at this moment in my third week of an art retreat at Atelier de la Rose. I sought this art residence experience in Montcabrier for the opportunity to explore my art beyond my every day self. This unique space offers a spacious single studio (35 sq metres, 376 sq ft), with 3 French doors and 3 sides of...

I was on a walking trip and as Montcabrier is on the GR652 route I passed by and stayed one night. I think Atelier du Rose is the best chambre d'hote I met on my trip. Never seen a more charming little village with only a few houses, an old church (illuminated by night) and a shop/epicerie. The rooms are...

My partner and I visited Montcabrier in October for a week. As an artist he found the surroundings and the places we visited very inspiring. We arrived at a perfect time in the autumn when trees were starting to change colour. There were many walks to do in the surrounding countryside and journeys to nearby villages and towns, all had...

Such a wonderful place! I would highly recommend this B & B in the nice small french village of Montcabrier! The owner, Sally Gaucheron takes such good care of you, she is a wonderful cooker and gives always a nice attention to her guests. The bedrooms are nice and cool in the summer, the place is comfortable and cosy. You...

A simple but immaculate place complete with artist studio--if wanted--in beautiful bastide town in Lot region. Perfect for artist getaways, cyclists, walkers, or simple tourists. Your host can provide elegant or simple dinners and is responsive to dietary issues for breakfasts as well. She is familiar with the entire area and happily showed us many places perfect for plein air...

My son and I stayed at Atelier de la Rose for just 5 days in September 2014. It was a wonderful and most refreshing time. The village of Montcabrier is peaceful and very pretty with stone buildings which have a beautiful rich glow in the sunshine. The rooms at Atelier are lovely with a quiet studio and beautiful terrace overlooking...

Last October my wife and I had the opportunity to spend some time in the southwest of France and chose to stay at l’Atelier de la Rose in Montcabrier. This turned out to be an excellent decision! Our host, Sally Gaucheron, who owns and runs l’Atelier de la Rose, was a most gracious and knowledgeable host. She took us on...

I had a successful week of producing art. And all due to Sally. She shared the Cohors region's Malbec and her extensive knowledge of art theory and history (just the inspiration needed to get on with it.) The light is outstanding as reported by the Impressionists. The 13th century village is lovely and features a handsome church with 3 bells....

We stayed at Atelier de la Rose for just one night, sharing the annexe with friends. Sally made us immediately welcome. We were fed and wined handsomely. The small village is pretty and well situated for exploring the Lot, especially the nearby chateau de Bonaguil. We would thoroughly recommend this excellent B and B, and would certainly go again.

Hello, Thank you so much for your warm response. I do hope you enjoyed the visit to Bonaguil and that you might think of returning to the Lot to explore some of the wonderful sites here such as the prehistoric caves and St. Cirq Lapopie or just to take in a few picturesque villages and a vineyard to two! I...

My wife and I were fortunate enough to spend a month in August and September as resident artists at Atelier de la Rose. From our arrival to the time we departed Sally provided for our artistic, transportation, and gastronomic needs. This freed us to simply create art. The studio is spacious and light with tables, easels, and other tools of...
