Mahana is a really lovely place to stay - a magical outlook and comfortable rooms with everything you need. John & Ann are wonderful hosts and Ann is a great cook - the food was delicious - we had a wonderful break after walking the Queen Charlotte Track. Recommend a visit

My family and I were hiking the Queen Charlotte Trail. As luck would have it, it rained heavily. When we arrived at the Mahana, we were greeted warmly. Literally. The lodge fireplace was lit and our hosts helped settle us in and dry us out. This is a great place to stay and the hosts are on top of all...

It was the attention to detail, the wonderfully warm welcome, the feeling that we could have been long lost relatives sharing a meal in the conservatory that won us over. From a very welcome introduction to our lodge, complete with cosy log fire, offer to launder our damp clothes, home-made brownies and little bottle of champers, an umbrella for our...

Great quite lodge with beautiful view and atmosphere. It is within the queen charlotte track, the hosts give you all the information you need about the track. We also had a nice dinner that is set by the hosts (with additional cost) and organized as a family dinner, which was nice to talk and meet new people, hear tips etc.

Arrived to a very warm welcome at this beautiful lodge surrounded by flowers to enjoy an excellent coffee and homemade cake after a hard days hiking. John and Ann were wonderful hosts. The dinner was delicious ( go for the salmon) and their attention to detail in the accommodation was amazing. Idyllic setting. The perfect spot to relax after a long day's walk.

Our hosts, John and Ann, made our stay at the Mahana one of the highlights of our NZ vacation. We stayed for two nights and would have been happy to stay longer. The grounds are beautiful and a visit to John's vegetable garden is a must. The set-up at the Mahana is unlike any we have experienced. The "lodge" is...

We spent 5 wonderful nights at the Mahana Lodge in October. The lodge is spacious with a very homey atmosphere. We especially enjoyed being able to take day walks on the beautiful Queen Charlotte Track. John was extremely helpful in assisting us in planning our walks. His knowledge and love of the area made our stay at the lodge very...

A one night stay at Mahana whilst doing the full QCT hike was a great experience. The hospitality, personal touch from the welcome on our arrival to the exceptionally good meals and beautifully laid out "rooms with a view" were such a delight. It was a privilege to stay in this special place.

Stayed here when walking the QCT and LOVED it! Right on the water with a fabulous view of the sound. Our room was most comfortable with lovely crisp linen sheets. John's home smoked salmon is to die for, not to mention the rest of the meal, home grown vegetables, all delicious! A perfect place to rest a very weary head!...
