I am not a big review person, so pardon me as I try to put all of my amazing, fun and just utterly lovely experience down on paper. Amazing people, culture and food. The beauty of the island is more than just the gorgeous translucent water, amazing weather and food. The people made our trip memorable. From the Balinese ladies that work at the Spa Experience Center, to Thinley, the Bhutanese specialist, Nizam and all the individuals at Noo Faru, literally everyone contributes to your time there. My boyfriend proposed while we were on holiday at Kagi, which of course now makes it an extra special place. It is a place where a new chapter of our life story begins, and for that I am grateful to everyone that helped him pull it off. We had a session with Thinley, and it was absolutely amazing. It was relaxing. Her work which involves connecting with the individual, listening, learning and helping to figure out how to release the burden or anxious feeling you are carrying, even if just for a day, is extra ordinary. You walk away from a session with Thinley feeling light. The Friday night drum and dance performance by the Maldivians is an absolute must experience. You get a small look into the natives and their culture. The Dive center team also top notch. They take your safety seriously, and they also do their best to make sure you are having fun, and see as many beautiful sea creatures as possible. Overall, a wonderful trip, gorgeous location and accommodation, made brilliant by the people.

Hotel's Favourite
My wife and I went here as an anniversary trip, our first time traveling since the start of the Covid pandemic. We'd been to the Maldives before for our honeymoon. We absolutely loved everything about Kagi Maldives Spa Island, and can't wait to return. - The resort is beautifully arranged, the building design is gorgeous, the spa is cool and the views are breathtaking. It had recently opened and didn't have that many reviews when we booked (~17 ) so we felt we were taking a chance, but it blew us away. We were worried the island would be a little small, but it's a perfect haven. The resort only has 50 rooms so it can't get that crowded, but occupancy was low in March 2021 so we hardly saw anyone else. We saw other guests in the resort pool a couple of times but mostly had it to ourselves. We encountered other guests at meals but the rooms are so great (each with its own small pool, a terrace with chaises, and great reef access) so we weren't surprised people spend a lot of time at their room's amenities. - Covid safety - all the staff were getting vaccinated when we were there in March. Everything is outdoor so it felt super safe. We got tested at the resort before our return flight which was real convenient. The Maldives requires testing before entering, so that felt safe too. This was our first trip since the pandemic started, we actually felt a lot safer going to the Maldives than traveling within America or to Mexico where testing requirements weren't as strict before flying. - Room location, we were a little confused about which rooms were where when we booked. We thought the 300 were the best overall (that's where we stayed after moving). The rooms to the north of the island have a sea wall which blocks waves; that means more quiet, but we felt it obstructed the view. The rooms to the south don't have a sea wall. On the south side, the 300 rooms (ocean view) face the sunset, the 200 (lagoon view) face the sunrise. We had seen reviews mentioning noisy waves which stop you from sleeping... we heard them but it felt like sleeping on a boat. Light sleepers should probably pick the rooms to the north behind the sea wall (or the beach villas). - Rooms were great. The outdoor bath and shower were delightful and romantic, and the indoor bathroom is spacious and everything is new and top notch. Comfortable bedding, the AC worked well, reliable fast internet in the rooms for those who still have to do a little work. The deck area to the back of the rooms is really lovely, we enjoyed that each room has its own private pool for a quick dip, and loved that the reef is right there for swimming or snorkeling (a daily must), and loved watching the sunset from our water-porch. At low tide there's still enough room to swim, and at high tide we could just touch the bottom on our tip toes. If you swim out a dozen feet, the corals start and there's a slight current, and there are plenty of fish all the time. - We got massages at the spa twice. Everything was fantastic - great welcome, great massages, so incredibly relaxing, a hot lemongrass tea on a lounge chair once we're done. So worth it. - Food was great throughout the stay. Probably 9 out of 10 rather than 10 due to a couple misses, but overall we were very pleased given it's all inclusive. For breakfast we loved the smoothies, the spicy Maldivian breakfast (if you like dried fish and spices), the pastries, the eggs benefit and omelette, good coffee choice. For lunch (which we mostly ate on a lounge chair by the pool - so Noo Fary/Ufaa), we got poke/ceviche most of the time, or the occasional burger. There was a fabulous fresh pineapple desert with spices we had several times as a refreshing poolside snack. We also tried the sushi lunch at the spa (Baani) and it was good. Dinners were delicious, we tried a bit of everything and liked all the restaurants (but the atmosphere is more festive/romantic at Ke-Un so we went whenever it was open). Chef Saurav made an off-menu Indian dinner for us which was absolutely delicious, we also got (off menu) kati rolls for lunch another day and an (off menu) indian breakfast another day, it was a very nice touch. It's a high quality all inclusive overall. - Drinks - this is one of the better all inclusives we've been too. We mostly had delightful fresh yuzu margaritas, but tried some cocktails at the suggestion of bartender/mixologist Nuwan. His infused concoctions were a fun touch. The menu cocktails are great, but they'll make anything you want and make suggestions. Mint juleps, sours, daiquiris... Nuwan's spicy chocolate martini is way too spicy (only slightly removed from drinking hot sauce) - I had to drink my wife's but it was tasty despite the excess spiciness, if he offers it just ask for less spicy. - The island reef has spectacular snorkeling, probably the best we've ever seen, and beating many places in other parts of the world we've been after a several hour boat trip from the hotel we'd be staying at (better than Hawaii, Thailand, Caribbean, etc). At Kagi, you see incredible fish 30 seconds away from your bed. I saw a reef shark, about 4-5 feet long, which caught me off guard the first time but it's clearly more afraid of humans than we are of it, and I bumped into it every other day without any incident. There are also some baby reef shark (1-1.5 ft) swimming in the shallows near the beach, by any objective metric those are cute and very non-threatening. They're so small that my wife and I joked they probably have balloon teeth and deflate if they bite you. We didn't see a turtle but several others guests did. - Staff were very friendly. All the waiters were terrific - especially Divya, but really the whole team: Bimala, Gassan, Hamdulla, Nasfah, Musaid, Shiham, and I'm sure I'm forgetting others. The off-menu Indian food prepared by Chef Saurav was a highlight. The mixologist Nuwan had us try some fun and delicious cocktails all stay, and the other bartenders Denis (and maybe another whose name I'm forgetting) were always serviable. Our hostess Mariah was great and took care of anything we asked for promptly. - We were PADI certified before coming and did one dive during our stay, it was really great. Divemaster Saeed was perfect, my wife gets a nervous diving when she hasn't gone for a while, but he did everything to make us feel comfortable and take our time. We did a great dive (wall of glass fish, I don't remember the location name). All of the diving staff were also friendly and helpful. - I did get sun poisoning despite wearing 50+ susncreen most of the time... pale northerners beware! Sunscreen, hats, spf clothing, and safest to spend the hottest hours in the share or indoors... we tempted fate by eating lunch on lounge chairs by the pool. - Transfer from the airport was simple. About an hour each way. We waited about 20 minutes before the boat left on the way. On the way back, we felt we were leaving a little bit early than necessary to be on time for our flight, but were also sharing a boat with people on an earlier flight.

Having a simply first class stay at Kagi. Every member of staff so accommodating- with really personal service. Great spacious rooms - although water villas with pools do have splashing waves at night (to be expected ax it was a bit windy this week) - staff quick to change me to a more sheltered room with equally stunning turquoise lagoon views. Food in the main restaurant is fantastic - freshly prepared at live cooking stations but with chef service to deliver to your table! Fine dining quality but with fun factor. Snorkelling on the house reef is superb with sharks, squid and over 50 different fish…the Manager even showed me pics of turtles hatching back in the summer on the beach outside the spa. The spa is second to none - the yoga twice a day is free and top quality instruction/tailored for all. Great find!

I had always dreamt of getting married on a paradise island, in the sun with my feet in the sand. At Kagi the team made our dreams come true….. and then a whole lot more! We expected a lot but this wayyyyy exceeded any expectations we had and believe me they were high! The whole team bent over backwards to make every request and idea a reality….. they were exceptional from the Food and beverage team to the spa team, reception and water sports, nothing was a problem. This is an incredibly special, beautiful, luxurious, friendly resort and we can’t wait to return to experience this beautiful place again. We took advantage of many of the excursions and not one disappointed! We had I just can’t recommend this destination/ resort/ team enough!! This whole experience was beyond our wildest dreams!! We can’t thank the team enough for everything they did to make our wedding and holiday on Kagi so perfect!! dancing in front of us on a boat trip, we swam with turtles and sharks, we had a picnic on a sandbank in the middle of the Indian Ocean….. just the two of us!!! I just can’t recommend this destination/ resort/ team enough!! This whole experience was beyond our wildest dreams!! We can’t thank the team enough for everything they did to make our wedding and holiday on Kagi so perfect!!
