Came a few years ago and food and service were good , but the food was very poor this time , the staff are nice enough and room clean but expensive for what you get , they also made a mistake with the final bill which we had to sit down and work out for ourselves, we were refunded the...

This is our third visit and once again we weren't disappointed. The hotel is homely and the bedrooms are fitted in a traditional style. The best thing about this hotel is the service and the friendly staff who go out of their way to make sure everyone is happy. The hotel is open to the public for meals and is...

Good clean accommodation with very friendly and capable staff, but the best is the FOOD . One of the very best places that I have eaten at both evening meal and the great British breakfast. Recommend you starve before going as you are bound to enjoy the food.

Lovely food in a pleasant setting with friendly and efficient hosts. Best of the three pubs in Braithwaite but recommend booking at busy times. We ate on a Sunday evening and weren't rushed at all but they did double covers on most tables.

We've been wanting to eat here for ages and we went on Sunday arriving about 1.30pm. The menu had excellent choices of food which is sourced locally, and the bar always has a good selection of real ales and ciders, having won many Camra awards over the years. For starters I had a plate of Cumbria meats, cheese, chutney with 2 hot...

To visit a pub at lunchtime with two small children can be a bit hit or miss but the food was delicious and the service was fantastic! My girls loved playing on the grass outside and we all really enjoyed the food. The steak pie was great and the gammon portion was only just manageable!!

We received a warm welcome and had a table in a lovely conservatory dining room. Throughout the evening the service was friendly and attentive. The menu was well balanced, traditional and reasonably priced. Our main courses of slow roasted local lamb and steak and ale pie were delicious and huge. In contrast, our starters of smoked salmon and prawns were...
