I stopped in here on Saturday night with my partner and a few friends for dinner. The wait was long as it was a very busy night due to the concerts being held at Olympic Park. When our meals were ready I brought them back to our table and my partner had told me it wasn't the pasta she had ordered, but when I told staff this I was told because I had taken the meal already they couldn't fix the problem, I think that's ridiculous, however my partner ended up just eating the dish which she thought was nice even though not what was ordered, my steak with vegetables and pepper sauce was quite delicious. I would return. We were happy they served frothy on tap. I would have given a higher scoring review if we had actually received what we ordered.

Room 20 Family ensuite rm - hotel is really convenient to Train Station and eat street in Strafield. Plenty of dinning options close by.
Checkin was easy.
Room was very basic. Appeared clean but very tired. Decor old (not historic old), ensuite pretty run down. TV didn’t work and old aircon was effective but a little noisy. Beds were truely awful. We suspect very old and cheap (could feel the springs) and extremely uncomfortable.
Some noise from the hotel and bottle shop, but manageable.
Won’t opt to stay here again.

We booked this hotel because it was close to the station, which was important to us.
The beds were good, the sheats clean ( but not changed during a weeks stay) but the blankets had seen better days. The room was to the backyard, so we were not disturbed by any street noise. The windows had not been cleaned for years, which gave the room a dirty look. But we had an OK stay. The bonus, free wifi, which for us europeans ment quite a lot. The minus, no breakfast options. We had to look around to find a place.
We would recomend a room with a private bathroom. This was clean, and the towels changed every day
So if youre not fusy its OK for a very reasonable price in Sydney. Bought a weekly ticket for AUD 54. It gave acess to all trains, buses and feries. Just do it

Never in my life have I stayed at a horrible place. Checked in and someone was already in the room. Back to the staff I went and it took 4 staff, yes 4 of them, to stuff around like morons for 1 hour before I was able to even check into another room. Then.. at 10.30pm when I finally get ready for bed, a stranger unlocked the door (obviously tried to check someone else into my room) so here I am naked. I called them to explain and got 'oh, sorry about that'.
Then, after talking to the booking site, they informed me the motel refused to even give a partial refund. So if you would like to wait an hour to even get checked in and if you don't mind feeling unsafe and don't mind a stranger coming into your room, dont mind that even the tv doesnt work, then by all means, book this putrid motel filled with incompetent people.

Do not use this property the owners daughter is an extremely arrogant self entitled woman who is not at all concerned with the provisions of being a kind and friendly host. Her mannerisms and attitude was much to be desired. I recommend take your business elsewhere!

This place is very conveniently located, right next to Strathfield Station. If you are looking for a quaint place to crash for a night, then this is the place to go. However, if you are planning to stay for several nights, go elsewhere. The earplugs that I found on my pillow may be a curteous gesture but they also signal noise. Warm water is scarce in the morning as was a reliable wifi connection at the beginning of my 5-night stay. Apart from that, rooms are clean and supply everything you need.

My partner and I needed a place to stay so we could come down from the Great Lakes Area to see his new twin grand daughters. We found the Strathfield Hotel good accommodation for what we needed. The room was tidy, clean and the bed was very comfortable along with the pillows (no bed bugs) and no noise from the bar under us, the staff at the Hotel were very helpful, polite and accommodating. Our only issues were that there was no TV in the room so you couldn't relax in the privacy of your room without going to a common area or being down in the Pub and there are no Tea/Coffee making facilities available in the rooms, they are the 2 negs out of many benefits. The staff are amazing extremely helpful and full of info about good places to eat in the area. I would recommend the Strathfield Hotel to my family and friends. One last note and it has nothing to do with the Hotel it's self be very careful about parking, because the rangers are just waiting for you to turn up, when you book ask where you need to park and call just before you get there and the Hotel will have you're parking space ready, it will save you a $104.00 dollar fine. " THEY WILL STRIKE WILL YOU'RE WAITING ". I hope you enjoy you're stay as much as we did.

Very old world accommodation, with separate bathroom for most rooms.
It is close to the station, which is why I stayed there, as I needed to get an early train to a job interview.
The problems were constant noise outside - garbage trucks, street sweepers, etc - and over the next few month there will be noise due to a cosmetic work at the station - jack-hammering tile makes a HUGE racket. There were also bed-bugs.
The check-in form included a disclaimer about not claiming compensation for damaged property - something distinctly allowed under the NSW Innkeepers Act.
They advertised Free WiFi, but no password was provided.
Food around the hotel is Korean and there is also a Russian club - with photos from Harbin, China - where Russians lived for centuries, joined by more after the October revolution.

We booked 4 months in advance for 4 people and were given a room with 3 beds. We were told it had something to do with house keeping and they wheeled in a stretcher bed. No compensation or apology from the vendor. And the noise coming from the building site next door was a nightmare to be woken up to. When we came downstairs to checkout the female bar staff that was on was extremely rude. Would not recommend this place to anyone. We will never return.

I have stayed at this hotel about 5 times in recent years , the last time in April 2016 . Its old fashioned accomodation , basic , shared bathrooms etc and the furniture would have looked new back in the 1940's , but its very convenient , the staff are competent , and its economical . No problem with the cleanliness but a bit of a makeover would work wonders . It can be a bit noisy late at night when the revellers leave but no big deal , you also need to be aware that many of the windows look straight into adjoining properties . But overall , it fullfills the requirement of cost effective accomodation in the inner west . The pub bistro is a bit hit & miss and seems mainly orientated towards the local Korean population .
