Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

Might be a great place to say "I do"... but just not to the accommodation 😬 For what one pays, one can't expect luxury, however - one would expect sheets that are soft and comfortable, not scratchy and starchy. It was so difficult to sleep because the bed  was so uncomfortable. Whether due to age or wear, the bathroom looks like rubbish, we wore thongs in the shower because we were scared we might pick up a fungus. Basin has zero storage or bench space so if you are planning on doing your make up here.... don't I guess? 🙃 no hair dryer either but luckily I thought ahead on that. Also, the room smelled musty and the walls are paper thin. Expect to hear every flush and every shower run during your stay. All in all pretty much a last resort to stay in. Staff didn't pick up the phone all day or tell me what time check in was before my arrival. According to a sign when we arrived, reception is staffed between 8am-4pnm, yet not a soul in sight when we checked out during these hours. (Explains the unanswered calls too). I'd have shared all this with the staff upon leaving, but check out was literally placing keys in a bowl in reception, great way to avoid honest feedback I guess.

Where do I start, magnificent gardens for a wedding along with a fabulous reception room. The canapes just kept coming, all absolutely delicious with a large variety. The actual reception meals were out of this world in quality and tasteness. After the mains we were offered more steak and chicken. The desert buffet was also fabulous. I could not recommend this venue more highly. The rooms were basic, but sufficient. It's far better to enjoy the wedding and not worry about driving out the Dandenongs at night

As this is a wedding venue and most people staying here would be attending a wedding in the grounds you would think that there would be some basic amenities in the room like hair dryers, and some decent shampoo not just shampoo/conditioner/bodywash in one container which basically was just soap. There was one very small long life milk in the fridge which was no were near enough for two people especially as the venue does not provide breakfast, as we used the milk when we arrived there was none for the morning and it was not replaced during our stay. The room was clean and basic but not worth the money paid. I also left behind a ring and it was not handed in by the cleaning staff, so beware.

Attended a summer wedding at this location. The gardens were well maintained. The inside wedding reception area was average. The dance floor was on the small side for little over 100 guests. The food and service were good.

It is criminal the amount they charge guests for these rooms! The wedding reception area and the grounds are beautiful but the rooms are horrible. We have nothing good to share about them. The rooms are small, dark, musty and they feel dirty. Water pipework is incredibly loud when someone in nearby rooms are showering you can feel the pipes shudder in your room. You wouldn't want to walk around bare foot. The bathrooms are tiny! We didn't use the shower because it was so old and gross! We also entered other guests rooms which were the same. Surely with the amount they make from weddings they could update their rooms.

We all arrived for a family wedding, from all parts of Australia and overseas. The reception/ wedding room was beautiful. The serving staff were great.. this place is badly let down by its rooms..!! The accommodation was awful, freezing cold, old outdated and musty. The girl who was supposed to put on the bride and grooms music ... played her own selection.. shocking. Could never recommend this place to anyone

Came here for a wedding and cant fault that part as the staff were fantastic. The hotel side is dreadful and needs a complete overhaul, specially at $160 dollars. It had dead flies embedded in the window and filthy toilet. These rooms could be just magical with some effort put in. I would have personally stayed at the quest for the 39 dollars extra

Came here for a wedding on a cold morning. The gardens were beautiful and the gazebo and surrounds were simple yet very charming. Unfortunately the white chairs left a white mark on the backs of those who sat on it - it was especially noticeable on the backs of all the men's suits! Inside the reception was setup beautifully - again simple decorations but beautiful. The wood-fire was lovely and warm. Besides the main hall, there was space adjacent to the toilets where people could talk informally. The facilities were clean and well appointed. They served canapés outdoors before a sit-down 3 course meal. The canapés had a good variety of flavours and textures. The alternate served entree and mains were rather large in portion and filling. The food however was not as gourmet quality as I would have expected. Staff were very friendly and the overall attention and overall a great romantic wedding venue.

Went to a wedding here on a hot day. The outside garden chapel was lovely but they need to do something about the dust under foot . After the reception one small container of water was brought out by a staff member. Nowhere near enough for 120 people. The food was good but the vegetarian option of a giant samosa was poor. All of the three vegetarians on our table said it wasn’t very nice. The other meals were lovely. The dessert bar was anazing😊 band was great overall a good venue😊

We came here for a wedding and the grounds were stunning. The wedding was outdoors and was set up like in the movies. Reception was lovely and food was amazing. Rooms were very ordinary, tiny and outdated.
