It's location is excellent, with Tullamarine Freeway and DFO shopping precinct only moments away and for the price paid ($135 pn) on a Saturday evening in Melbourne when all of CBD was booked out or more than $400 a room, I was pleased to be able to stay here again.
The rooms are large and I couldn't fault the general cleanliness.
My whinges now, no milk in the fridge or offered at check-in, the top sheet had a hole in it. Yes there a few cobwebs, but that is not unusual in a room with brick walls around the ceiling. The check in person was not overly friendly, a transaction, not a host welcoming a guest.
Noise from other rooms was noticeable until after midnight which impacted sleep.
The venue needs someone with the capital to invest, re-open the bar/dining room & this place could be a gem. It's not getting the love it deserves. For now, for the budget conscious traveller, it represents only average to fair value. I am unlikely to stay here again until it is improved.
The rooms are nothing like the photos on their Web page.
RECEPTION: This is a small hotel owned by a family. The owner was very, very nice to us and we chatted with her for quite some time. The service was great.
ROOM: Decent but needs updating for sure. Had a small beer fridge, phone, tv - the basics. Was a good size and had great A/C. The room was clean.
BATHROOM: Again, definitely in need of an update but clean. Shower had good pressure. Fixtures were showing their age.
RESTAURANT: The restaurant attached to the hotel was actually really good. It's a family type menu and the portions were big. Good value for a meal. It also had a bar area with sports on the tv. Pretty much all the other guests were business travellers.
Overall, if you are looking for an affordable hotel near the airport then its a good choice. If you are looking for something upscale or more luxurious its probably not going to be your cup of tea.
One room smelled of strong cigarettes while the other smelled of urine, both showers had mould and scum build up with used soap in the wardrobe, used cotton tips on bathroom window ledge and a cigarette but on the light in the bathroom.
Wifi wouldn’t connect, beds were uncomfortable one bed was just a flimsy foam mattress.
It’s what I’d probably expect at a dodgy hostel.
DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!! Alot of druggo's stay here so this is not safe at all
