Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This motel needs a bit of capital investment to bring it back to what it must once have been.

It's location is excellent, with Tullamarine Freeway and DFO shopping precinct only moments away and for the price paid ($135 pn) on a Saturday evening in Melbourne when all of CBD was booked out or more than $400 a room, I was pleased to be able to stay here again.

The rooms are large and I couldn't fault the general cleanliness.

My whinges now, no milk in the fridge or offered at check-in, the top sheet had a hole in it. Yes there a few cobwebs, but that is not unusual in a room with brick walls around the ceiling. The check in person was not overly friendly, a transaction, not a host welcoming a guest.

Noise from other rooms was noticeable until after midnight which impacted sleep.

The venue needs someone with the capital to invest, re-open the bar/dining room & this place could be a gem. It's not getting the love it deserves. For now, for the budget conscious traveller, it represents only average to fair value. I am unlikely to stay here again until it is improved.

Very poorly maintained and requires major update. There were holes in the walls, cracked tiles in the bathroom. The curtains were poorly fitted and didn't cover the windows properly.
The rooms are nothing like the photos on their Web page.

Stayed at the Comfort Inn & Suites in Essendon in May of 2008. Our sole reason for choosing this hotel was due to its proximity to Tullamarine Aiport. It is only about a 10 minute drive away.

RECEPTION: This is a small hotel owned by a family. The owner was very, very nice to us and we chatted with her for quite some time. The service was great.

ROOM: Decent but needs updating for sure. Had a small beer fridge, phone, tv - the basics. Was a good size and had great A/C. The room was clean.

BATHROOM: Again, definitely in need of an update but clean. Shower had good pressure. Fixtures were showing their age.

RESTAURANT: The restaurant attached to the hotel was actually really good. It's a family type menu and the portions were big. Good value for a meal. It also had a bar area with sports on the tv. Pretty much all the other guests were business travellers.

Overall, if you are looking for an affordable hotel near the airport then its a good choice. If you are looking for something upscale or more luxurious its probably not going to be your cup of tea.

Very disappointed, booked one night accommodation here for 2 rooms, my family and I had an early fight out of Melbourne the following day and given the close proximity of the motel and previous reviews we thought it would be ideal the only thing it was was disgusting.

One room smelled of strong cigarettes while the other smelled of urine, both showers had mould and scum build up with used soap in the wardrobe, used cotton tips on bathroom window ledge and a cigarette but on the light in the bathroom.

Wifi wouldn’t connect, beds were uncomfortable one bed was just a flimsy foam mattress.

very good location to the airport , within 15 minutes drive . And there’s a good Chinese restaurant near by within the walking distance . Linen is clean , hot water all the time . And space is large enough for me coz I have lots of stuff . They also have some amenities for you to make some simple food like the micro wave and toaster , fridge and the kettle. And the stuff is very helpful as well.

We stayed at Essendon motel for 2 nights. The first night we flew in and the night before we flew out. It was exactly what you would expect from a budget hotel! The room was clean, the staff were super friendly (gave us a free upgrade on both nights) the room was dark for a comfortable sleep and the water had hard water pressure and was hot! It was only 7 minutes to the airport. Next time we are in Melbourne we will return!

This motel is well overdue for a complete renovation. The decor is outdated, the furniture old and worn out, it’s dirty and the rooms smell of smoke. The shower was dirty, there was not ample crockery for a 3 person room and the place just looks sketchy. Someone has painted the furniture & walls in leftover white gloss paint which only highlights the imperfections and marks. The room behind the reception desk looks like a hoarders delight. I suspect there is insufficient staff to attend to things like housekeeping & maintenance.
It’s what I’d probably expect at a dodgy hostel.

This place is terrible . It’s filthy dirty, unsafe and if we had another option for the night we would have left ! It should be condemned. It’s not even 1 star. Our room smelt of old cigarette smoke , there was no smoke alarm or sign of sprinklers in the event of a fire, it was dusty and dirty . The bath towels were worn and the bathroom had mould . We were there for less than 24 hours and couldn’t wait to leave . Absolutely horrendous!

I arrived with my clients and never been so horrified and embarrassed in my life. The rooms were absolutely putrid and stunk like fetus! The doors never locked properly, and some rooms had smells of pot. It looked like something out of a horror movie. I spoke to the owner and they refused to give us a refund. We left in the evening to travel 40mins to pay and stay at another hotel which was worth the drive.
DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!! Alot of druggo's stay here so this is not safe at all
