Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Been there a few times, it doesn't matter what time you get there you will always be greeted with a friendly smile, late check out on request, breakfast is scrumptious and the dine in restaurant has a great choice of italian dishes, even though it's on the main road you never hear the traffic from the Hume highway.

I would highly recommend it to anyone for a comfortable, peaceful, affordable and pleasant stay.

Fantastic friendly staff! Brilliant restaurant food. I stayed here for 2 months and they made it feel like home! Would definitely advise for anyone! The rooms are great and had everything we need, if we didn't have it, the staff would do their best to accomodate us. Highly recommended

We travelled from Gold Coast to Sydney and stayed in this place. The room was spacious and clean with general motor inn facilities. Multiple tv channels. We stayed one night and had breakfast. The food was good and the staff and service was excellent. The manager went out of his way to be helpful and offered us an upgrade on arrival. Very friendly atmosphere and would stay there again.

Nice customer service, and good reviews. However my room did not have a phone, their internet did not work at all through out my stay, there were a few dead cockroaches in the room, and the beds were incredibly uncomfortable. Would not recommend.

This is an outdated motel with smoke-filled rooms, hard beds, outdated furniture, inconsistent wifi and old linens. In retrospect would ditch the rental car, use the extra $$ to stay downtown and either walk or use public transportation. In the end, avoided the motel room and used it only to sleep a few hours and grab a shower. Moreover, we were asked to pay for all 3 days up front so moving to another location would have been costly. Keep looking....

Dear Guest, Every Motel has different room types anywhere from budget to Executive, so when you book the cheapest room available ($150.00 for New Years Eve) you won't be getting the best room available. in saying that the rooms you stayed in were Non smoking rooms, so unless someone in your party smoked in inside they should not have smelt of smoke. Downtown was charging from $600 up to $1800 so more than just a couple of extra dollars. We understand that we can't please everyone all the time, but would appreciate any grievances to be addressed directly to management so that something can be done at the time to make sure you have an enjoyable stay, rather than leaving negative feedback after the fact.

Arrived at Motel and got keys, had booked in over the phone for a room with a double bed and sofa lounge as I had my 2 daughters with me. The manager said it would be our little secret that I had 3 people which was bizarre. I parked our car in front of room and 45 minutes later came out and my car had been keyed right across one panel,I went to get the manager and he came and looked and said that it must leave a bad taste in my mouth but there was nothing he could do,no security cameras on car park or rooms! he then said in front of my daughters that if I came back and knocked on his door he would let me park my car in his garage and have a wine with me! I didn't, in the morning he said he had waited for me! I spoke to another couple in the morning and they thought he was strange as well! My daughters were scared by the experience and I have a $350 damage to my car and he still made me pay the $250 for the room and basically said to bad. there was a camera were I drove into the motel and parked at the front door to pay , he could have seen that the car was not damaged when I had arrived, there was nobody in the car park when I was parked there except him and a cleaner who when asked if she had seen anybody she looked nervous and said she had seen nothing. Very bad experience.

Dear Guest, At the Gardenia Motor Inn, we pride ourselves on delivering a comfortable and friendly stay, as many guests who have left reviews have affirmed. Therefore we are always concerned when a guest has a complaint. We were very sorry to hear that your car was scratched, wether that happened in the car park or someplace else, we have no way of knowing, and even though this is the first complaint about car damage in the car park, we would like to point out that the motel is not responsible for cars parked in the car park. A sign at the entrance to the car park stipulates as such. We sincerely hope that you are not implying that a staff member scratched your car. As for the remarks about our manager, we find them to be completely out of character, and feel that maybe there was some sort of miscommunication. The manager did offer the use of his garage as a gesture of good will, but denies emphatically requesting to share a wine. The room that was booked was for a maximum of four people, so there would be no reason why the manager would say that it was “our little secret”. If you would care to read other reviews for the same weekend you will find that other guests you will find reviews such as: “Hidden Gem” , Fantastic Experience”, Exceeded all expectations”, Friendly Staff, clean, comfortable rooms, onsite parking”, Very happy, would stay again and recommend to friends”.

This place was a complete surprise - for the price, I did not expect the service I received. The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating, the premises were very clean and it had an air of quietness which you wouldn't expect in a highway motel. I stayed here simply because of a mix-up with another hotel and I couldn't find any cost effective options at the last hour but this blew away all my expectations! Huge value for money, very friendly staff, a clean place located close to the public transport(a bus connected you to a train station just a km away), I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a decent place to stay without having to pay the astronomical prices of the places in the city.

We had booked 4 nights at a nearby hotel but found ourselves spending the first night here as our booked hotel put us in a room here due to a water leak on the floor our room there was supposed to be on. At first I was worried but found the room to be updated and clean. And it ended up being better than the room we were in, in the other hotel. Service was good. We rang up after checking out to let them know our little girl left her favorite teddy in the fold out sofa bed, and that we would return for it in the afternoon, it was at the front desk waiting for us! I would definitely try to stay here again by choice this time!

This is a clean, spacious, well managed motel with newly renovated bathrooms and comfortable bedding. I preferred to stay here over the Rydges just down the road and was pleasantly surprised (especially with the bathroom and comfortable pillows).
Very good value!

I am currently staying here with my daughter who has an appointment at the Rydges tomorrow early. We decided to stay here because it was over $40 cheaper than staying at the Rydges. The room is new and large. We also had dinner in the restuarant and it was awesome and very reasonable prices. We have ordered breakfast to our room tomorrow and it's less than $20, can't beat that.
