Located on the Great Ocean Road equidistant between Lorne and Apollo Bay, this beautiful park has a stunning sandy surf beach just across the road. Sites are grassy, well-sized and the majority have plenty of shade cover. Facilities were very good: the camp kitchen has 2 full-size fridge/freezers for guests to use, microwave ovens, kettles and toasters and stainless steel worktops and a sink with the camping luxury of hot water! There are several free gas BBQs located around the park. Bathroom facilities were clean with plenty of hot water. Staff were always super friendly and helpful. As an added bonus, there are many large trees around the perimeter and koalas are easy to spot! Lots of bird life in and around the park too. This is a really special campground for those who appreciate nature and a good base for exploring the region.

We stayed in the small cabin (for a couple) for one night while traveling the Great Ocean Road. The cabin was really cozy. The small bedroom had a nice double bed, bedside tables and a dresser. The living room had a couch and a small desk at the window from which we could observe the birds. There was a full kitchen with stove (4), microwave, toaster and kettle. Pots, plates, glasses, cuttlery etc. were generously provided (see photos). As it was off season and quite cool there were not many campers. But thanks to the heating we were perfectly warm in our cabin. The koalas were indeed on the trees inside the caravan park. There is also the koala walk starting right outside the caravan park, where we saw even more koalas. We enjoyed this place very much and truly wished we could have stayed at least one more day.

Clean cabin with comfortable beds/bunks; good pillows; well equipped kitchen to prepare and serve meals; well functioning reverse cycle aircon/heating; good water pressure in shower. Customer service was great, with nothing too much trouble for the property managers. Set in natural bush land, wild life on-site and easy access to a clean beach with stunning sunrises/sunsets….and located between Lorne and Apollo Bay…a lovely holiday spot.

Love this beautiful park. Kennett River caravan park is still an ‘old school’ type park…roads are dirt and sites are grassy with lots of trees. No concrete sites...thank goodness. There is a playground for children but it’s not over the top..kept simple because there is so much nature around & of course the beautiful beach directly across the road to keep them entertained. Kangaroo’s & koala’s come to feed! Amenities clean & staff lovely.

This was our first cabin stay at Kennett, normally we have our camp trailer. But this didn't disappoint. Great cosy cabin with all that you need, great for our tribe of 5. Heater worked a treat and everything was fresh and clean. We had an amazing view of the beach and being right next to the road was fine. You didn't even really notice cars driving by. Phone reception is 10/10, better than at home to be honest.
The park has had some TLC since we last stayed, new park for the kids, new fences and just areas tidied up. The toilet facilities area now has bistro lighting too, which always makes an area feel so warm and festive. Wildlife a plenty here, another reason why we love it. Kids ticked off all the animals they wanted to see, koala, kangaroos and lots of birds. The beach... wow it never disappoints always so magical and peaceful.

Koalas, in the trees above your camper. What more could one ask for? We stayed here one night on our journey along the Great Ocean Road. We loved this campground, it was clean and well maintained, and the facilities were all excellent. The staff at the check in was friendly and welcoming, and set us up in a great site near the washrooms. The campground is full of gum trees, which have their resident Koalas up in them lounging around so you dont have to go far, or join the throngs of tourists from the buses who are outside the gate, all massing up Kennett River road hoping for their glance of these beautiful animals, they are literally right there in the park for your viewing enjoyment. In addition to the Koalas, there is a beautiful safe beach directly across the road with a nice beginner size break for surfers as well. We would rank this as one of our favourite stops along the Great Ocean Road and would definitely stay here again. Love those Koalas! :)

Amazing location, superb old-school camp ground featuring the trees and birds, and such helpful staff happy to accommodate within strenuous Covid rules. After witnessing atrocious behaviour of a guest while staying, and feeling so well looked after throughout my stay, I had to leave a review saying the camp ground is awesome and will always be better off without entitled selfish people, as sharing this magical space is a privilege. Kind people wanting to chill and appreciate beauty will love this place and will appreciate staff doing their due diligence in such trying times.

Amenities are very average and are not very clean at all.
For the amount of unpowered sites the camp kitchen is very lacking (waited 38mins for one person to use a microwave)
Fire pits are welcome only of it doesn’t show any fire.... you work it out I can’t.
Manager is rude unless she gets her own way.
Spend your hard earned somewhere else.
