Whilst the location of the Abode is okay being in central Woden, it is expensive for what you get, which is a very basic room.
With half the floor carpet and half tiles, it is very cold in winter and doesn't make the room feel cosy at all.
The location is good but in order to walk to shops, cafes and restaurants you have to walk through some sketchy, dark areas. As a woman, it is very insettling and feels unsafe (both during the day and at night).
The staff are nice and helpful but run off their feet as there doesn't seem to be adequate numbers rostered at any one time.
The food from the restaurant downstairs is very good and you can order room service which is very handy. Although eating it in your room is a challenge due to the table being so low. Also, the lack of desk space makes working a challenge.

We booked a family room with a king bed and bunk beds. The rooms were clean and spacious and the kitchen really came in handy for those who wanted to stay in. The kitchen is well equipped with a dishwasher, stove top and microwave. The beds were comfortable and we had no issues with the mattress. The teens enjoyed the larger space and the bathroom was functional and dried out overnight which I appreciate! The air conditioner was good too. Location wise, the hotel is close to Westfield and close to attractions and I can imagine it will be a good business hotel as well. Front desk staff was minimal on a Sunday and the restaurant closed but staff were helpful. Parking is opposite and free over the weekend. Recommended to a good value stay.

We chose the Abode Hotel Woden for a number of reasons. Firstly, it was close to where we were attending a family funeral in Canberra. Second, it was one of the few venues where we could have four rooms for all couples in the same hotel at the same time making transport much easier. Thirdly the prices were OK.
The apartment style rooms are large, quiet, well-furnished and have all the amenities you would need for a few days stay. There is a Westfield shopping centre around the corner, a bus station close and the address is close to a number of main highways. It is close by car, taxi, Uber or bus to town and the Parliament House precinct. There is a good restaurant and bar on the ground floor and 24-hour reception desk. A word of caution about parking. There is no parking at the hotel. There is a government carpark over the road from the venue. It is not covered and not patrolled. The ticketed carpark operates from 8:00am to 5:30pm on a $4.00 per hour basis. Overnight and weekends are free. There is a loading and unloading bay in front of the hotel. It is policed strictly and fines start at $134.00!
No problems with the hotel and I would have no problems recommending the Abode Woden, just be aware of the parking.

From the time I entered the reception area I could tell our stay was going to be a good one. A cheery welcome from the receptionist and confirmation that our room access card would also give us access to the underground carpark. I was given directions on how to find the entrance for the carpark and told how to find our room on the first floor. All carparks are clearly marked with the room number and there are a good number of disabled spots close to the elevators. Our room was well presented, clean and well laid out. There was a fully equipped kitchen and surprisingly a full laundry hidden behind folding doors in the bathroom. The walk-in shower was a good size and water pressure and temperature could not be faulted. We had no problem with noise at any time and the very comfortable bed provided a good nights sleep.

A beautiful room, so clean, perfect bed & pillows. Lovely restaurant, for breakfast & dinner. We are frequent guests here & are always made extreme welcome by the staff. Short walk to shopping & restaurants. Car parking is just across the road, free on weekends, paid parking throughout the week.

We had family business in Woden and this location is perfect for us. The closeness to the Hellenic club is also good.
We booked for 2 people through hotels.com but at checkin they say it’s only for one person so we have to buy an extra breakfast voucher at $20. (Not bad value but still annoying.) hotels.com still shows the booking is for 2 people.
Parking is across the road in a paid car park. You have to be out of there before 8:30am or organise payment before that time. Tip - join the Hellenic club and parking is free.
The room was fine. Spacious. We slept well. It was quiet but there is some construction works around that started before 7am.
The breakfast is in a cafe on the ground floor and it’s cooked to order. The poor waiter was literally running trying to keep up with things. At one stage a manager was turning away customers saying they couldn’t take any orders for 20 mins. I’ve never heard that before. Very annoying if you have to go to work etc.
So - basically a pleasant place to stay with a few annoying glitches.

Breakfeast: Coffee and the juice came together and well ahead of the meal. Was she expecting me to dring the juice and the coffee together? The coffee should be served after the meal and she should have told me the juice was chargeable when I ordreed. After I finished the meal I said to the male waiter the coffee is now cold he shrugged his shoulders and continued walking.

This was my first stay at Abode Phillip which has apparently been open 2 months. Nice decor, neutral colours with olive green accents though room unfortunately already had a carpet stain and scratched surfaces. King studio was spacious, kitchen and bathroom very similar design to Abode Woden. Small table and chairs a great addition. Bed very comfortable and rain shower was excellent. Some issues though:- room 202 is directly opposite the loading dock of apartments next door which has heavy duty ie loud air conditioning. Bathroom ceiling fan was also exceedingly noisy. Finally unfortunately the bed has been positioned very close a pillar such that you need to turn sideways to pass it and get into the bed! Stupid design as there is plenty of space on the other side. Parking is an extra $25 so I parked at Abode Woden and walked - about 3 minutes. No breakfast on site - need to go to No 10 at Abode Woden. Small grocery store next door is open quite late.

Everything is fine except the free water. Could you please do the environment a favour and stop shipping huge amounts of water in glass bottles from Italy to give away free. It's water! It's not necessary to burn fuel shipping it half way around the planet - there is water in Australia.

This facility had everything I want in a hotel: friendly, efficient front desk staff, clean, spacious rooms with well-stocked kitchen and bathroom, fluffy towels, comfortable beds, and a restaurant on site. While we arrived too late to try the restaurant, we did take advantage of "The Pantry", an area off reception that has a reasonable selection of snacks, frozen meals, toiletry essentials, and even alcoholic drinks. There is plenty of parking in the lot across the road, which you will have to pay for unless you arrive late and leave early. I will be staying here again.
