An historic hacienda that has been turned into lovely place to stay with nature walks, restaurant and cacao plantation. The owner is originally from Belgium. The rooms are atmospheric but basic with a slight rumble of traffic. The views and the surprisingly long nature trail are great. They do dinner in a lovely setting - tasty but a little over...

Spent 3 nights here. Lovely setting. The birds and monkeys around the place help you relax. Excellent food and service. The hotel is not the most modern but has a certain quaintness that grows on you. Nice pool and gardens. Enjoyed the walk through the grounds

We spent 3 nights at this most relaxing and hospitable lodge. The owner and staff were very welcoming and friendly. We had the lovely Chapel room overlooking the courtyard and forest, great for birdwatching from the balcony and for hearing the howler monkeys in the trees close by. The restaurant and 'lounge' overlooking the pond was idyllic. We were treated...

We stayed in the La Capilla suite for 2 nights, you have to go up narrow stairs, the room is quite basic but comfortable with a small balcony. There are open windows so you can get a breeze. Wifi was only available in the dining/reception area. There is a trail which goes around the property which is a nice walk,...

The rooms were simple but spacious, ours looked out onto a garden filled with flowers and colourful butterflies,No need for an alarm clock the Howler Monkeys helped us with this. The owners were hands on and delightful as were all the staff, very good Coco Bean given by the owner..well worth doing. Good fresh food. Nice walks in the rain forest...

This is a lovely setting right in the rainforest. One day we watched howler monkeys swinging right overhead beside the restaurant. A very peaceful place (except for an early morning serenade by the howlers one day - but that's part of the experience you go for). The food was excellent, and very reasonably priced. Kudos to the cooks. Javier provided...

We spent 2 nights here as part of a tour organised by the excellent Costa Rica Expeditions. This is a charming little lodge in a lovely setting among lovely gardens and with a river flowing past the dining room. We had a large room above the gateway to a little courtyard. The room was comfortable with a large bathroom (no...

We stayed for only one night and had a great diner with great service! Very nice hotel with a very nice view. Rooms are big ans beautiful but a little noisy, especially during the night and in the morning when housekeeping started to work in the garden.

In the middle of the rain forest, which I liked, but not my favorite food and certainly not the wine. The rooms were ok, not great, but the seating on the veranda was very uncomfortable. The dining staff was friendly but I felt the food could have been much better.

This hotel reminded me of exactly how all hotels should be; small, personal and with beautiful surroundings. If you are looking for a small hidden treasure this is exactly it. The owner is absolutely wonderful and can speak many languages, he also personally does the chocolate tour( the have their own cocoa trees) which is extremely interesting and he tells...
