Hotel rooms are large but sparse. The cost for the room was higher then I think the quality merited. Lighting and bed sheets are poor. The best part of our stay was the tour thru the acres surrounding the hotel. Angel has created a nature walk with lots of interesting flora and wildlife. Angel is incredibly knowledgeable and enthusiastic about... More

There is only one reason to visit Sarapiqui and that's to do something adventurous. And it's likely to be rafting down the nearby Sarapiqui river. There really is only one place to stay and that's El Bambu. Quirky hotel with high ramps to a myriad of rooms. Pleasant gardens below and what looks like a nice clean pool. We didn't... More

We had low expectations for this place in the middle of the little town of Sarapiqui, but the Hotel El Bambu really surprised us. It spreads back into the jungle so that you have to walk a good way to get to the rooms after checking in. This is actually pretty cool since the walkway is a raised wooden platform... More

Pulled in after being unhappy with accommodations elsewhere. Very nice place, friendly staff, comfortable rooms on a happening avenue through town. The hotel also offers balconies with a cool view of the campo near the middle of town. Some evenings you can watch the local soccer teams practice. Also, the pool was quite nice.

I stayed here for a couple nights in June 2016, for work (EF Tours). Pros: -The pool and "back yard" of the hotel were the best part. The pool was sprawling - with a rock waterfall, bench swings around it, and trees filled with Toucans and Macaws, etc. -Free wifi (mostly worked, not great) and AC in the rooms. -Nice... More

We ate a wonderful buffet at the open air restaurant after a river tour but did not stay the night. Great fried chicken, vegetables, rice. Pork was okay. Salad bar was small but good (this isn't Golden Corral, okay?) Full bar, souvenir shop too. 1. I would not have noticed this hotel if our tour guide had not stopped there.... More

If we had not been looking for this hotel, we could have easily driven by and not known what a lovely gem is hidden behind the main street doors. We had booked a standard room over the Internet. When we arrived early for check in, we were told no problem. As well, they said we had been upgraded because they... More

We arrived at this hotel this last weekend for an ATV and UTV ride to our border line with Nicaragua, I was impressed how big this hotel is, considering is far from downtown is a really nice hotel, it has a nice swimming pool and many meeting "open to jungle" rooms for business or anything else meetings. Rooms are big,... More
