The hostess was lovely and the breakfast was good. We were placed in the room downstairs which was clean but meant we heard all the noise from the kitchen/lounge. The mattress I had was extremely uncomfortable but my partners was bearable. A lovely place but the water pipes can be noisy!

My Husband and I stayed at Longacre. We couldn't have been more happy to spend time here. Such a beautiful, idyllic location. Rolling hills, amazing views, peace and quiet. The room was lovely. Spotlessly clean. Very high standard of furnishing. The bathroom was a wet room, which was perfect for my husband who uses a wheelchair to get around. The...

We looked the place up on Google Maps before we set off, so found it easily. It is set in a hill with wonderful views over the countryside. The room was comfortable and clean. The conservatory, where we sat to eat breakfast had a brilliant outlook and we were entertained by the birds and squirrels feeding on the patio. Great...

We booked this B&B with Booking.com, under the name 'Longacres'. There was a photo of a fairly large, cream building. This was misleading, as this was the proprietor's house, and we stayed in a cramped little granny flat type of building. This B&B was almost impossible to find and we drove past it twice. There was no sign. I happened...

Shrubdown is a beautiful B&B set in a truly magical location. The owner, Francis, is incredibly warm & welcoming. Each morning there was a delicious platter of fresh fruits, cereals and teas...or if you fancy a cooked breakfast Francis's are wonderful. I thoroughly enjoyed eating breakfast overlooking the stunning, Autumnal woodland from her dining table. My room was warm, peaceful...

My wife and I spent a delightful weekend at this establishment. Our room was clean and comfortable and the breakfast was excellent with everything you'd expect from a good selection of cereals and yoghurt to the traditional fried meal. Shrubdown is situated high above the village of Freshford and is a 5 min drive from two very good food pubs....

From the moment we arrived we felt like part of the family. It happened to be a VERY wet day / night and as we don't drive we arrived like a pair of drowned rats! Francis the owner immediately offered us a warm drink and settled us in. She also booked us a table at the local Inn for dinner...

We are not used to staying in B&Bs but this little gem will was very nice. We were greeted by Francis on arrival and felt like we were in a great place. We had the smallest room for two nights but it was very clean and we were offered the run of her lovely property. Once our bags were in...

We stayed at Shrubdown for two nights over a weekend. The location is beautiful with lovely views and it's about a 15 minute walk to Freshford train station which gets you into Bath in about 10 minutes. There is also a lovely walk from Freshford into Bradford upon Avon along the canal and if it's a nice day like it...

I and my partner spent two nights at this comfortable-bedded house for Valentines, which has good and 'overlooked' points in my opinion. Before I booked, I neglected to check how steep the hill was to walk down and up, to the rail station, for a trip to Bath or Bradford on Avon. For info, the station is a mile away...
