We reserved the apartment which was on two floors at the top of the building - no elevator; 53 stairs. It was very attractive and spacious with a large living area, small well-equipped kitchen, little balcony, nice bathroom with washing machine, and bedroom upstairs with sloping ceiling. The balcony faced a nice courtyard and had a tiny table and two... More

We decided on a few days' holiday in Switzerland with one base, thought Vevey suited the bill, and booked this guest house on the internet, based on location and price. Overall we were very pleased indeed. It is located on the edge of the old town, very close to Lake Geneva and the town centre, and only a few minutes'... More

My girlfriend and I had a hard time finding a place to stay by Lake Geneva but after looking around Le Charlot met our requirements. It was clean, easy access to train (5 min walk), main bus (3 blocks away), ferry dock (2 min walk). The guest house is next to a big public parking lot so you can park... More

We stayed here Aug 29-Sep1. Reasonably priced for Switzerland and we loved the location by the lake. However, paying extra for the lake view room for 3 days was not worth it for us. We had the ground floor room and could never keep the curtains open as people from the outdoor seating area and the market could look directly... More

Great location for this guest house based on a Charlie Chaplin theme as is the area, due to his stay here. Overlooking the market square and over to lake Geneva, the room was clean and pleasant with tea and coffee making facilities, fridge and large bed and large tv. A nice comfortable space on the 3rd floor but no lift.... More

We stayed here only one night and it was raining, so take this into consideration. First of all, I would recommend that you save your money paying for a room with a view. The hotel is not directly looking over the lake and there is a large tree in front of the hotel obstructing the view. The rooms are spotless,... More

Lovely room and lovely view - no doubt about that. But one pays for that privilege of course. It's a lovely older building so some noise is expected but unbelievably inconsiderate neighbors or other tenants can make a hellish stay of no sleep. The insulation is poor on the flooring but the rooms and lodge also have not been designed... More

While the rooms are very spacious and nice and the location unbelievable, this does not offer proper hotel amenities. That means you have to check in at the sandwich shop which appears to be very popular, so its difficult to get the full attention of one of the young girls serving there, who are also tasked to bringing the guest... There is a lot to like about Guest House le Charlot and Vevey in general, with a few minor details to be mindful of What I liked: Nice large rooms/guest houses with wood-style floor (less allergies), very large bathroom, extremely friendly staff at the café (who will take care of doing the check-in/check-out), decent breakfast (8CHF) at the café (but...
