You can reach the hotel only through a road for which a special permit is needed. With a bike, you can go. So better get in the private bus at the Alte Bahnhofstrasse, just 200 m away from the railway station. The road was built in the 1920's for farming purposes (alps) and is narrow and steep (up to 18...

The six of us spent a night at the Berghaus Vereina, arrived in a positive, optimistic mood and left disappointed and annoyed. The owner of the house possesses all the negative "virtues" of a typical Swiss host - rather than trying to please his guests, he expects them to be grateful for the chance of staying at his place. A...

We did a 4-day hike in the mountains in very wet conditions. There was a lot of snow in the mountain passes, and babbling brooks were actually raging torrents! We arrived at the Vereina Berghaus to a very warm welcome from Marcel, despite the fact that we were all soaking wet, with very wet gear as well. Newspaper was provided...

“Do the following tour: South to the Jörisees (all of different color), then East to the Jori-Flesspass, down to the Alp Fless Dadains, turning Northeast along the river to Flesspass. You can then descent to the Berghaus or add 40 min up (and 30 min) down to the Vereina-Passhöhe (highest point) and have a look into the dramatic, wild mountain area surrounding you. Doing this trip takes about 8 - 9 hours, so leave early in the morning to have sufficient time.”
