We stayed in Andermatt after travelling on the Glacier express. The hotel is only a few minutes walk from the railway station which is really handy. Andermatt is not large anyway which meant you would not want to stay any longer unless you are using it as a base,. The hotel sits on a roundabout with the small time just...

There are spacious and comfortable rooms with a nice balcony. The beds are good. The wifi is vsometimes really good but also sometimes it's gone. The Hotel is dated but clean. The personnel is friendly and they serve a good breakfast.

It is very difficult when reviewing hotels and restaurants to take account of the fact that some countries are inherently more expensive than others. If this hotel was in France one would say it was appalling value but in Switzerland it is correct. The rooms are comfortable but in need of renovation. The food in the restaurant is good in...

We stayed here for three nights to witness the Gotthard tunnel opening celebrations in June 2016. The hotel was conveniently close to the railway station - we had flown to Zurich and then by train. Although our room had the facilities we would expect, we felt the décor and equipment was very tired and in need of refurbishment. A particular...

This hotel proved excellent for our needs - close to Andermatt station, quiet location, comfortable room and excellent dining. Owners/staff most helpful and accommodating and food/service in restaurant (morning and evening) second to none.

Only stayed one night, the hotel looks like a 60s office block but dont let that put you off, the room we stayed in was also a 60s time warp red and orange carpet and curtains and pink plastic shower curtains. But it was clean, the views from the windows were amazing, the staff were helpful. Being next to the...

This is a basic Alps hotel. It is located near the train station, across from an Andermatt shuttle bus stop, and walking distance to both ski lifts. Walls are a bit thin so the hotel is a little noisy. Restaurant is very good. Breakfast is basic but good. Staff was very friendly and helpful about showering and changing after skiing...

Assuming you are a mountain fetishist, assuming you love the Swiss Alps, assuming you love being surrounded by massive, powerful granit mountains and assuming you are on a tight budget, Metropole Hotel may be for you. Don’t expect too much, not too less and you will be all right. Staff at the reception desk and restaurant are friendly. The rooms...

We have passed our skiing holiday week at the Monopol Hotel in Andermatt for five years now. Our duplex, aparthotel-style room in the Bel Etage was perfect for our family; it also has a small kitchen to make a cup of tea after skiing. A cosy apartment we have grown attached to! Staff are very friendly and competent. Worth noting,...

We stayed here for three nights thinking it can not be that bad! Ok so the bad bits, the stairs are very creaky, the rooms are very dated (1960) the windows do not block out any sound, the beds are not very comfortable and our bed side lights flashed all night. Now the good bits, The rooms are clean and...
